Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

From what I've read on here, there are still a number of people waiting on their netbooks.
Seems like a batch goes out, then they are on backorder for another couple of weeks, then they ship a batch again.
Based on this pattern, a new batch should be shipping soon. Hope this helps!
I posted this on the SNUS forum, am reposting it here.

I have a thought about why the prizes come in batches or on an irregular schedule and other oddities about receiving prizes, and here it is.........

There was a fellow on Colbert's show--last Thurs I think it was. He was talking about how huge corporations are not paying their suppliers on a NET 30 day basis, which has traditionally been the norm. Instead they are paying them NET 60, 90, and even 120. The smaller businesses cannot operate and pay their employees and suppliers if they have to wait to be paid in 120 days. Hence, they cannot order more supplies and fill orders until they have been paid for their past shipments. This puts the output on the same basis, i.e., 60, 90 and 120 days.

So, say you have a small business that makes those steer horns, or custom-made boots, jackets, what-have-you, and if they have to wait 90 or 120 days to be paid in order to order more supplies from a smaller supplier to make more horns or boots, then there becomes this huge backload of orders to be filled. When they receive payment, they are then able to order supplies and fill the orders. Or they just might get tired of doing business that way with huge corporations. Maybe that is why some people are now getting gift certificates from P Morris on some items.

Just a thought.......

Best Buy (store in town) didn't have the 2GB DDR3, etc. so went to Newegg online. They charge $20.10 for shipping ALONE!!!!! Guess I won't go that route!

And a very good thought indeed!! That's a wonderful point and a high probability that's what the situation is.

Checked Crucial before I saw your post. I was wanting to get the PC3-10600 instead of the PC3-8500. Don't think it makes any difference in shipping costs.

Thanks, though, for the thought and link. Shipping charges can be totally outrageous up here. Just takes more time to shop around to find lower charges. And, yes, I still love living up here. Pros and cons to everything in life Smilie

P. S. At least we're not alone - Hawaii has the same problem.

As far as excess programs go, (and Im going on my memory -- its been a couple weeks), I uninstalled the Norton Antivirus trial (I hate Norton from previous experience -- replaced it with Microsoft Security Essentials, which is a free download). I also took off the casual games trials, and all of the demos. If you have a question about whether or not to keep a specific program, post it here, and I will check and let you know.
Norton used to be a resource hog - since NIS2009, though, that's no longer an issue. If you haven't tried it for a few years, you should at least give it a chance, since you had a free trial.

While I admit it's not as bad as it used to be, I have tried Norton 2010 since my dad had an extra license, but I find it to be too intrusive and significantly slower than Avira or AVG (which I stopped using after their debacle last year).

What was the AVG debacle. I used to use AVG several years ago, but got a nasty virus and stopped using it. I guess no virus software is perfect.

Why people get pleasure out of damaging people's computers Mad is beyond my comprehension, I say get out the pliers and blowtorches and make an example of these computer terrorists ( ok that is a little extreme, but I just do not understand people who destroy peoples property for no reason, I mean what lowlifes.)
