Yesterday my house got robbed and I sent 3 kids to kiddie jail and one home for a spanking!

My House was robbed by 4 kids. OMG One was only eight years old. The 8 year old boy cracked under pressure and told his mommy what he had done. I got most of my stuff back, but not all of it. I'm out $700 to $800 in odds and ends. Some of the stuff that is still missing is stuff that can never be replaced. I'm very sad & pissed off! Please say a little prayer that I get the rest of my stuff back. Crying

I am confused about one thing, what is wrong with the kids' parents, did they not do anything to try and get your stuff back, or punish their kids? IF it was my kid, he would be punished and taught manners.

How is this relevant?

It's still ethically and morally unacceptable by any standards, and very much illegal. You could leave your front door wide open and if someone came in uninvited, it's still burglary if they intend to steal.

Apparently not. I'm going to start looking for unlocked cars and claim them. Finders keepers! Whee

Of course it is but to a jury it may be relevant. And maybe a few nights in jail will shake lose the whereabouts of the remainder of OP's stuff.

How would it be relevant to a jury? The jury is to decide whether the suspects are guilty of a crime or not. The door being unlocked is irrelevant to the nature or commission of the crime.

The door being unlocked has no bearing on the fact that grand theft and burglary occurred here.

A juror might consider the age of the defendants and the fact they did not break-in (the home was open) in deciding what punishment if any to levy. Not that they should but they might. It only takes one.

I think you should:

(a) Blame the parents ( I'm childless )
(b) Blame their entire race if they are a minority ( I'm white )
(c) Send them to time out, label it as "acting out", and get them some psychotherapy ( I'm a Liberal )
(d) Forgive them, feel self-righteous and smug, but secretly hope they go to Hell ( I'm a Christian )
(e) Don't really forgive them and start a long running feud that includes shotguns, outdoor toilets, and rock throwing, plus a chance to be on Jerry Springer ( I'm from South Carolina )
( f) Praise God, throw a Revival Meeting, and shout it was all part of His mysterious plan. Speak in strange tongues if possible. ( I'm Southern Baptist )
(g) Make them go to confession and say 20 Hail Marys and then go play Bingo ( ( I was raised by a Catholic )
(h) Weigh all the evidence and be fair, but don't actually give a rat's ass, and remember we're always right about everything ( I'm a Libra )
(i) Tamper with the evidence, plant some if need be, and accuse your Mother-in-law of the theft ( I'm divorced )
(J) Have them charged, but forget the court date because you have 12 interesting unfinished projects going at the same time ( I have ADD )
(K) File a multi-million dollar law suit ( I'm the son and grandson of lawyers )
(L) Let the women take care of it and sit around in your drawers drinking Stoli and watching porn ( I'm a guy )
(M) Blame it all on those dadblame Republican Tea Baggers and that damn Palin woman ( I'm a Democrat )
(N) Put your dog's poop in a paper bag, light it, fling it, ring their doorbell and run like hell ( I'm bored and immature )
(O) Take a chain saw and cut them and their parents into little bits and plant them in your back yard with a good dose of lye so the stench won't rise. ( No particular reason, but you can guess if you want nod )

EEK! Go get'um Cupcake!!! And kudos to that Mom of the 8-year old!! Sadly nowadays, some parents would not turn their kid in. I hope she scared the life out of that kid, and is teaching them a lesson they won't forget!!!

If my child was one that did that, they wouldn't be able to sit for a while and would be doing extensive work around your house, free of charge.

Hope you get all your stuff back and the kids learn a lesson.
