In April in Melbourne Fl there is a two day concert happening that my sis and I are going to go.
It's called Runaway Country.
Something new to hold me over until my June Cma Fest.
DH and I are also going to Vegas at the end of March and will be there during the ACM Awards.
Could not afford the tickets for that but we got tickets for this...Should be interesting
The Academy of Country Music and dick clark productions announces that country superduo Sugarland will headline the first-ever ACM Fan Jam, a fans-only live concert event taking place in Las Vegas during and after the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast Sunday, April 3,
2011 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
The ACM Fan Jam will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, during and after the ACM Awards from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and will give fans the ultimate opportunity to be part of the LIVE telecast. Throughout the three-hour live show from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, there will be
performances from the Mandalay Bay Events Center by Sugarland and other top-tier music acts, to be announced at a later date.

We went to the grocery store to stock up again...another winter storm by Tuesday afternoon, with 5-10" more--just what we need.

I also ordered a desktop photo plaque last week so I am happy that you like them. I thought it might be good for my DH's desk.

Anyway, I'm sending prayers for your sweet heart to get some peace.
I can't believe it is already February! Seems like January only lasted a day or two...........let's see here's life in a nutshell for me: the memorial chamber coffee for my boss went very well and I had many compliments on how well it was put together so that was bittersweet for me. The last few weeks have been spent with extra hours at work almost every night and then studying and homework every night for my online classes. Myself and our fill-in pharmacist are helping my boss's wife (Bev) evaluate her options for the pharmacy. So I've been doing lots of looking over the expenses, income, etc. as well as putting together information packets about the store so she can at least look at the option to sell. The fill-in pharmacist and I have pretty much been running the business so Bev can focus on other things. Unfortunately for me, the fill-in pharmacist was scheduled to be in Thailand for the month of Feb. to have a formal Thai wedding ceremony. They got married in Vegas last year but wanted to have an official Thai ceremony with her family in Thailand. So now I'm running the show alone and it's a bit scary. Last week I was not at work 2 days because I was sick with strep throat, spent Thurs - Sunday in bed or on the couch. So this week was especially busy as I was trying to get caught up.
I'm turning 30 in a few days and I really have never felt like that was a big deal but it seems this past month with all the upset and uncertainty in my life I'm feeling a little down about it. I don't really think it is the age that is getting to me, it's more the fact that I'm feeling anxious about life right now. I'm such a planner and the fact that nothing seems to be going my way or is in limbo right now just isn't going over well. I wish it were a happier time for me so I could just be happy and celebrate. My birthday is usually such a joyful time for me ever since DS came into our lives on my birthday 4 years ago but this year I'm having a hard time keeping that happiness on my mind very long as it quickly gets pushed out by all the things I need to do or by someone hollering at me for help.
Michelle, I can't imagine what life it like for you right now. You've been given an awful lot to handle. I know that you are doing it with grace and strength, but hang in there as I bet it is never easy.
As for turning 30, it's really not so bad. Ever since my 30th b-day I have trouble remembering how old I actually am.
Friday was a very long day, but I think everything went really well. There were around 600 people at Mel's service, so that was pretty amazing. And dh did great leading the music part of it, even though I can't imagine singing some of those songs she picked in front of such a crowd. So hard. Thanks everyone for thinking of us. We needed the strength of your prayers. We left the house before 8am, did music practice, funeral home, cemetery, funeral, reception, family dinner at grandma's. It was quite the day and I'm so thankful DD got to stay home and play with my parents (they drove down to spend the day with her) because there's no way she would have made it through a day like that, and it would have made it even harder for us.
The good news is that Fri, Sat, and right now, she is actually NAPPING again!!! First time in 2 weeks. I just hope she can do it at day care tomorrow, then maybe the nap strike will be over. It's been a very hard 2 weeks with no naps (or a 5pm nap) since we only get those afternoon/evening hours with her on the weekdays and she was insanely crabby.
Dh is at a youth group superbowl party, so when she wakes up, I think us girls will go return some stuff and hit up costco (hopefully everyone else will be busy watching the game and it won't be busy).
I'm not at all ready for a full week of work, but I am thankful for a little time to decompress today too.
Been missing you guys. Watching the game right now just to see who wins in the pool. Right now L143 is winning.
