My doorbell just rang, and it was the actual FedEx guy, still holding my box of Keurig to hand over to me! That SHOCKED me! I can't remember the last time UPS or FedEx waited for someone to answer the door. Usually, if I'm lucky, they drop the package and ring the bell and then run off. UPS pisses me off, because they rarely even ring the bell.

Wow, I finally caught up! Y'all have been chatty this past weekend!

I think I would like to join the K-cup train, pretty please. If its not too late.

I have bread dough rising, and am about to start making potato soup for dinner. Looking forward to it! Now if the kids would just eat it, that'd be the best ever.

Jaden had the day off school, so I set him to work reading. He read over 100 pages, so proud of him. They are all sleeping, and I am preparing shopping lists. laugh out loud I'm hoping the roads are safe enough this evening that I can get out and get some shopping done. My pantry is getting a little bare!

I hate that! I've almost tripped on the step when they've left a pkg I wasn't expecting.

Flugette - hope you get to go shopping soon! We were almost out too.

I was going to make potato soup Sunday afternoon. I took out some ham that I had in the freezer to thaw. DH came home from church and saw it and figured he'd be helpful and make lunch... He used the ham for ham & eggs & hashbrowns! Bless his heart, it was delicious and very nice not to have to cook since I was feeling very blah. No potato soup though. *laugh* That was the last of my ham! Teehee

Oh, I agree with the others about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, it does take a while to get into the first book. Please if you begin to read it, don't give up! It's a complex story with a lot of characters, and I think it took me over 100 pages to begin to want to not put it down. Then I read them Twilight style fast after that! The movies are great too, still waiting on the last one to be released, but the movies only cover a fraction of details from the book. It's too bad Stieg Larsson died, I'd like to see what else he would have written. In case anyone didn't know, all 3 books were all published posthumously, and supposedly he planned for a series of about 10. I wonder what Lisbeth Salander would have been up to?!?
I didn't know it was supposed to be a series of 10! WOW! That would have been amazing!! heart

ooh, i can finally get in on the book convo!

get my books from the library so i don't necessarily read in order or everything by the author. read maybe half or more of her highlander series drool, so started on the fever series when i saw it at the library. the fever series is much darker and not romance at all so i didn't *enjoy* it as much as the highlander books. it's more like a page turner where i just had to keep reading to find out what happens next. and when you get to the end of the book you are just dying to read the next! i got so sucked in i even checked out her website and some of the forumsTeehee. some of those people are so into it like teenagers, somebody made the flashlight headgear and it went on tour. Crazy

it's hard when you have to wait almost a yr for the release of the next book. and you don't know when the library is going to get it. plus, i don't go to the library that often b/c when i do and i take out a stack of books, my life just comes to a halt until i finish them. so just like food i try to avoid too much temptation.

so i was waiting for i think book 3 to come out, saw it was available online thru the library and i could download it for free if i had a reader, but i've been lazy about it. just checked her website and now can't remember if i ever read book 3, faefever, or not, but now you say the end of dreamfever was so good i hear a giant sucking sound! (runs to get library card to access books online!) good thing xmas clearance and toy clearance are over w/ and i have a break to do other things besides go to target every day laugh out loud! now i must find these books and find out what's been going on!!!

don't know whether you've ever watched the tv show ghost whisperer (tear jerker) w/ jennifer love hewitt or not, but i feel the last season incorporated the *shadows* concept into their story. don't know if they were plagiarizing or maybe testing to see public reaction b/c i think i read on her website this series was opted to make a movie. i would go see it just to see how it compared to the books.
I have read 2 of her Highlander series, but didn't really get too much into it. I still have the others to read, but they aren't very high on my list. The Fever series is VERY dark, but I do like it. The shadow concept was new to me and totally drew me in fast! That is crazy about the flashlight headgear and it going on tour! WOW! laugh out loud

Yes you need to go to the library and get the last 2! I am excited to find out what happened!!

I have never seen the show Ghost Whisperer, but may have to check it out! Thanks

Just got home.. uugh, so aggravated! Been a long day. Me and my toddler were out all day running errands and taxi service. Today was my son's first day of college classes for the semester.. I went to pick him up and waited forever cause he was trying to get financial aid stuff sorted out.. Finally had to leave him there and go pick up the other kids.. went back to college and he got the money straightened out and then went to buy books.. He waited in line over an hour :thud:
Instead of getting home at 2:45, I am just strolling in a 5:00 pm.. I have no idea what we will have for dinner and quite frankly, I have a migraine headache coming on and don't care Frown

Okay, enough of the whining.. I am thinking I might fire up the Keurig for a little therapy for my crappy day!

I am using bacon in my soup. Smells so yummy. Just waiting on the bread to finish up baking. So hungry!! Big Grin

I should be able to get to a store or two this evening after dinner. Discovered that Eggland's Best eggs are cheap at Giant - supposedly 1.88/dozen, and then I will use the .55/1 which will double. Considering I paid .89/6 eggs at Safeway this morning Faint I think this is a steal!! Now here's hoping they have some left...

Best wishes to you husband!

We don't use a property manager and we live across the state from our rental house. Our renter just deposits it in our bank account. Our bank is also on that side of the state.

How crazy is that, we have lived away from there for almost 14 years, we have no intention of moving back there, yet we still bank there.
Did you set up the rental agreement before you moved? It's not practical for us to travel to Michigan to deal with a renter, but I hate knowing that I could be making more money renting it out myself. Plus, I would know what is going on with MY property. I mean, I think a $50 monthly fee is WAY reasonable for the mgmt service, I just wonder how much more they are charging the tenant over what I have agreed to rent for. DH doesn't think they are making more than the $50 per month but I think they would be Insane not to try to rent for more. Especially if the tenant is someone we know nothing about. And Nikayla, I am like you. I would much rather cut my ties with Michigan altogether; even though I will make more monthly rental income than my mortgage payment...not worth the headache.

flu- potatoe soup sounds so good, ank I don't even use any ham when I make it. I would consider making some but I spent way to many HOURS making chicken chili yesterday and we have lots left, yum! The way I make it is just a bit different. I use one red, orange, yellow, and two green bell peppers and a whole huge red onion plus a whole bulb of garlic. I put them in the food chopper and mince them and then put the all in the electric skillet to cook down and soften. The rest is pretty much the same as the recipe you all posted but no salsa since I have all the peppers and onions/garlic. I put the juices from the chicken, broth, the spices, 4 cans of white beans, shredded chicken and when the veggies are done I add those. It makes a huge batch. Good for dinner three or four more days. My youngest DD still won't eat it she says it is to hot so she eats Campbells Chicken Corn Chowder instead. It smells so good and very strong when the onion and veggies are cooking.

I need to start reading again. I haven't hardly read any books for a while now. Frown
I know you've posted this guy ~~>Sick enough to make me wonder, lol, that would be so soon Mavis is only 4 months right? EEK! But well on her way to crawling from the sounds of it. Maybe you won't need a test and you will get your monthly gift soon.

Sounds good, let them take care of you. The caffine might just help the headache, about 10 yrs ago my Dr prescribed me some little pills to help with migrain and all they were was caffine. So now when I feel a migraine or any headache starting a caffine drink will usually do the trick. Wait I do drink a few huge cups of water first, that is my first plan of attack if that doesn't work I go for the caffine. Makes it hard not to drink any soda, I try to stop drinking it but then sometimes I need caffine. That is when I started drinking a frapp here and there. Those are so full of sugar too though. Ugh!

I am thinking of making him a fondant Scooby Doo cake. And hoping it will survive the 4 hour trip. I think I will just make a 9x13 cake and cover it in a mysterymachine design with the fondant and then use those icing paints to paint a Scooby on wax paper and transfer it to the flat cake. Has anyone ever used those before, the icing paints? I was searching online for Scooby cakes last night and the one I liked the best used that method. Also wondering the cost, hmmm.
It is crazy how much he LOVES Scooby Doo. He will ask for the remote and keep saying Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo!
My #4 is a Scooby Freak too! His birthday is 12/23 and just kept asking and asking for the Scooby Haunted Mansion from TRUs for his birthday but Gma got it for his Xmas gift. He could have died when he opened it. He is saying "oh Grandma, How did you afford this! I WUB it so much!" I just kept tellig him he had to save all his money that Pappy gives him because it is verrrry expensive and it will take a while for him to get enough money for it. And his Pappy got him a 5 foot tall stuffed Scooby Doo, that is taking up most of the play area in his room.

I'm not sure about team Edward or team Jacob. I can't stand being cold! I hate being cold, and it is way to cold where we live. All that talk of how cold Edward is, to cold for me I think. I would have to be a vampire right away so I didn't feel the cold all the time. Otherwise I would just want to be all warm and toasty with Jacob.
I am Team Twilight, I just love it all. I am so with you on hating the cold but I would put up with the cold for Edward. Let me see if I can find my pix of my Twi-craft room.

Yes, I had a lease/rental agreement ready to go. Started as a one year lease then reverted to month to month from then on. I also typed up a statement of condition for each room that was sort of a checklist that we went through and both initialed. This was almost 14 years ago. Still have the same renter.

I now live a little over 4 hours away and used to live a little over 6 hours away, so it would have been feasible for me to go back and clean it and show it to rent if I needed to. Plus, for many years my mom lived a few blocks away and would have been able to show it for me.

Aaagghh, my DD is in K and had her first little playdate the other day. A friend from her class came over - sweet girl and they had fun. This was last week and her number has shown up on my caller ID at least once a day - today it's been 5 times!! Sometimes it's the little girl, other times it's her mom (they leave messages). I don't know what to do, but this is getting ridiculous... OMG
Why aren't you answering your phone?
