Oh, I agree with the others about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, it does take a while to get into the first book. Please if you begin to read it, don't give up! It's a complex story with a lot of characters, and I think it took me over 100 pages to begin to want to not put it down. Then I read them Twilight style fast after that! The movies are great too, still waiting on the last one to be released, but the movies only cover a fraction of details from the book. It's too bad Stieg Larsson died, I'd like to see what else he would have written. In case anyone didn't know, all 3 books were all published posthumously, and supposedly he planned for a series of about 10. I wonder what Lisbeth Salander would have been up to?!?

ooh, i can finally get in on the book convo!

get my books from the library so i don't necessarily read in order or everything by the author. read maybe half or more of her highlander series , so started on the fever series when i saw it at the library. the fever series is much darker and not romance at all so i didn't *enjoy* it as much as the highlander books. it's more like a page turner where i just had to keep reading to find out what happens next. and when you get to the end of the book you are just dying to read the next! i got so sucked in i even checked out her website and some of the forums. some of those people are so into it like teenagers, somebody made the flashlight headgear and it went on tour.

it's hard when you have to wait almost a yr for the release of the next book. and you don't know when the library is going to get it. plus, i don't go to the library that often b/c when i do and i take out a stack of books, my life just comes to a halt until i finish them. so just like food i try to avoid too much temptation.

so i was waiting for i think book 3 to come out, saw it was available online thru the library and i could download it for free if i had a reader, but i've been lazy about it. just checked her website and now can't remember if i ever read book 3, faefever, or not, but now you say the end of dreamfever was so good i hear a giant sucking sound! (runs to get library card to access books online!) good thing xmas clearance and toy clearance are over w/ and i have a break to do other things besides go to target every day ! now i must find these books and find out what's been going on!!!

don't know whether you've ever watched the tv show ghost whisperer (tear jerker) w/ jennifer love hewitt or not, but i feel the last season incorporated the *shadows* concept into their story. don't know if they were plagiarizing or maybe testing to see public reaction b/c i think i read on her website this series was opted to make a movie. i would go see it just to see how it compared to the books.

My doorbell just rang, and it was the actual FedEx guy, still holding my box of Keurig to hand over to me! That SHOCKED me! Just got home.. uugh, so aggravated! Been a long day. Me and my toddler were out all day running errands and taxi service. Today was my son's first day of college classes for the semester.. I went to pick him up and waited forever cause he was trying to get financial aid stuff sorted out.. Finally had to leave him there and go pick up the other kids.. went back to college and he got the money straightened out and then went to buy books.. He waited in line over an hour :thud:
Instead of getting home at 2:45, I am just strolling in a 5:00 pm.. I have no idea what we will have for dinner and quite frankly, I have a migraine headache coming on and don't care

Okay, enough of the whining.. I am thinking I might fire up the Keurig for a little therapy for my crappy day!

I was going to make potato soup Sunday afternoon. I took out some ham that I had in the freezer to thaw. DH came home from church and saw it and figured he'd be helpful and make lunch... He used the ham for ham & eggs & hashbrowns! Bless his heart, it was delicious and very nice not to have to cook since I was feeling very blah. No potato soup though. *laugh* That was the last of my ham!

We don't use a property manager and we live across the state from our rental house. Our renter just deposits it in our bank account. Our bank is also on that side of the state.

How crazy is that, we have lived away from there for almost 14 years, we have no intention of moving back there, yet we still bank there.

Sounds like a TGIF kinda night. The older ones can cook it up.

I am thinking of making him a fondant Scooby Doo cake. And hoping it will survive the 4 hour trip. I think I will just make a 9x13 cake and cover it in a mysterymachine design with the fondant and then use those icing paints to paint a Scooby on wax paper and transfer it to the flat cake. Has anyone ever used those before, the icing paints? I was searching online for Scooby cakes last night and the one I liked the best used that method. Also wondering the cost, hmmm.
It is crazy how much he LOVES Scooby Doo. He will ask for the remote and keep saying Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo!

I'm not sure about team Edward or team Jacob. I can't stand being cold! I hate being cold, and it is way to cold where we live. All that talk of how cold Edward is, to cold for me I think. I would have to be a vampire right away so I didn't feel the cold all the time. Otherwise I would just want to be all warm and toasty with Jacob.

Aaagghh, my DD is in K and had her first little playdate the other day. A friend from her class came over - sweet girl and they had fun. This was last week and her number has shown up on my caller ID at least once a day - today it's been 5 times!! Sometimes it's the little girl, other times it's her mom (they leave messages). I don't know what to do, but this is getting ridiculous...
