ok, totally forgot to post what i was really going to. bff just called and said a target nearby is closing and somebody was there today and it's totally picked over and everything is 75% off. we were just there last wk and picked up a bunch of toy clearance and they were remodeling to add p-fresh.
.
WTH? Really? That DOES seem odd. Keep us posted.

I am so glad to hear so many others struggle with a 3 year old about the potty. I know you are supposed to make light of any accidents but did you ever threaten mild punishment like a timeout or something? I just can't get my DS to tell me when he needs to go. I need some reinforcements.

I'm all about a meet up. Just say the time. I'm going to send you a PM in a sec. There was a cashier there today who I thought had potential, but I had the whole family with me so I wasn't really interested in trying a test run.

Speaking of potty training... my 14 month old will now run into the bathroom with anyone who has to go yelling "potty, potty". She then does this really funny squat thing (I have no idea if she's actually going at that time) and she then pulls off a little piece of toilet paper and pretends to wipe herself and throws it in the toilet and starts clapping. Does anyone else think this is freakishly early to start being interested in the bathroom??? DS wasn't even interested in the potty until he was 3.

Your DS didn't have someone to follow after or mimic (except you and your DH). Your DD has Cole to observe, so I think she can train faster.
My #2 and #3 are only 21 months apart and while PTing my #2, #3 decided she would too, much faster and without accidents before her older bro. 1- girls are just plain smarter and 2- seeing an equal do it helps motivate.

I read somewhere that the average age for boys was 39 months for PT. Ds had just turned 3 when the baby was born so I didn't push it because I figured he had enough transition to deal with. Well wouldn't you know at 39 months almost to the day he woke up and told me he wanted to wear underwear. He's had 1 accident since then and that's it.

I don't know that we ever formally threatened a punishment of sorts but we used the method with dd where you just let them run around naked from the bottom down and after one or two times of them peeing on themselves it is great incentive to use the potty....and with that method you make it very matter-of-factly CLEAR that it is not acceptable to pee/poop anywhere except in the potty. You don't punish them but you definitely don't make light or it or say anything like, 'it's OK, maybe we can make it to the potty in time next time' because well, it's NOT OK that you go anywhere except the potty, KWIM? So, the couple times dd did not make it I would give her a disapproving look and tell her that 'pee-pee only goes in the potty.' Then we would clean up the mess and a couple times of that and she was going in the potty. That was back in May and she's not had an accident since then woot

I am a very matter-of-fact, say-it-like-it-is person so this worked quite well for us Wink

Peanuts TQ works fine on the .79c bags..no beeps and attaches. All of the olay cpns took of the $2 today (were autoing down on last cpl on friday). And for some reason my Slimfast TQ's beeped INF today, noticed that there is a big gray line in the middle of the barcode?? Guess I will try to print some more to see how they print, they scanned ok but beeped, and they went thru fine on friday. The $1.50 Quantum Finish beeps on the plain finish box (the only Quantum they had was 10pk) so i went with the bigger box of regular and totally forgot (until it beeped lol) that the tq is specific to quantum.
Didn't have time to try any others.
Have a good day everyone!

I ordered mine on 1/12, they shipped Fedex on 1/13 and arrived on 1/18. I really didn't expect them that fast, one time seems I waited about 2 weeks from order date. Hope yours arrive soon!

Last time I ordered they came very quickly...hoping they come tomorrow. They are killing me.

I really need to move someplace warm. This cold weather makes me want to stay inside and be lazy when I should be shopping. Frown

DH's grandmother went to the hospital in an ambulance and got hit by a car on the way! Thankfully, it seems that accident didn't cause other injuries. She's got some bleeding on the brain from the fall but isn't have the bad symptoms she had with the last fall. They are keeping her for a few days for observation though.

My SIL tells me it's a good thing she had no idea she was pregnant with her third child, as the second one tested (and still tests) every nerve in her body every day. Third child made up for it.
Sounds like my 2nd child...

i've heard people say back when we were toilet trained, it was around one yr old and lots of older folk just shake their heads that kids are still toilet training at 3.

i know they used to not have size 6 diapers around 10-15 yrs ago but started making them b/c lots of moms were going back to work, didn't have time and kids were getting toilet trained later. also babies were being born bigger too. 6-7lbs and 8lbs was huge. now there's lots of 8lb babies.
I think disposable diapers seem to add a disconnect factor also. They wick away the moisture so effectively that the child doesn't really get a chance to be uncomfy.

Not much to say today...

Gator, I am absolutely sure my DS wasnt PT by 3 yrs old..don't stress over it...I think guys take longer....Although I am sure DD was sleeping through the night in panties by that time....I don't know about timeouts but rewards never worked for me...The only thing that worked was letting him be naked and he just went when he wanted to....And when he was OK with that, I told him that we are out of pull-ups and we will go and buy underwear for him..that got him interested too....But he was still sleeping in pull-ups at night and I tried the same thing again..no more diapers in the closet, wear underwear or sleep naked....he chose the underwear laugh out loud although i am sure if given the choice he will prefer pull-ups..

Very busy...Mom had a total hip replacement a couple of weeks ago and my youngest grand baby has torticollis and plageocephaly and I take her to PT every week.
I am constantly running someone to a Dr appt..not much time for shopping.

Hope you are all doing fine. It is cold here and they say we may get some snow this coming week....

I sometimes get hives from the cold. I used to tell people I was allergic to the cold - but they thought I was being silly - so I quite telling them.
Years ago, I would break out in hives from the cold (& other things). I also considered myself allergic to the cold. I still don't like cold weather.
I think my body was having a difficult time, in general, during that period of time. I was having a lot of dental work done (fillings, the "silver" ones that contain mercury), plus allergy shots. I'm sure my body was on mercury overload trying to detox all that.
