i'm pretty sure i tried them back when there was a high value mq and a tq out like 2-3 summers ago. i never, ever buy regular corndogs but i know i bought some so it must be those. i remember thinking they look and taste exactly like a regular corndog. i also remember bff saying corndogs were very high in fat but i remember saying these were vegetarian. i haven't seen a good deal on morningstar since then or i would buy them.

on the other hand, i did not like the chicken strips at all. looked fake and tasted fake. the fake ground beef wasn't bad in pasta sauce. don't think dh could really tell the difference from ground turkey.

Was it tootsie that had first mentioned cooking chicken in the crockpot because she can't stand to cook chicken otherwise? We've only tried this so far with chicken for tacos but today, it was teriyaki sauce for stir fry. OMG the chicken is awesome. About 20 minutes ago I added the veggies, don't know why I didn't add the frozen veggies earlier. Would have made it so simple.
I had to pop it into the crockpot while pregnant because it skeeved me out so bad laugh out loud I would just dump the package right in then add whatever sauce, seasonings, etc. and run Roll

It's soooo easy though!! sounds yummy!!!

I just got my Crock Pot ready....going to try Chicken Taco meat in the crockpot tomorrow. The crock pot is about the only way I will cook raw meat Anyway, this one is super easy...put 1 lb. chicken in crock pot, dissolve 3 TBSP taco seasoning in 1 cup of chicken broth, pour over chicken and cook on low 6-8 hrs.

Doesn't get any easier than that! We love chicken tacos (and chicken quesadillas, etc.) so I am hoping this will be an easy way to do that.

All right, to bed for me....'night all!

PS - HAPPY BDAY TO TOOTSIE AND LAINA!!!!!

unfortunately, cheap to free food w/ coupons is just so tempting. i have started to just say no. i stopped using the bakery q b/c we only had the white demi-loaves at the expanded target. i'd rather pay a lot more money and get whole wheat.
...
if you have a WF conveniently close to you, get your bread from there. all fresh baked bakery bread at WF is now completely organic. WF bakes several varieties of fresh bread at each of its stores now, and those bakeries are all completely organic. i get organic whole wheat baguettes there. i think 2.99 for a large, long baguette. they also have smaller ones if just two people are eating or so. I think those are 1.xx. And every week they have atleast one variety of healthy, organic, fresh baked loaf on sale for about 2 bucks. this is all in the fresh bakery area. i usually go in the evening, the bakers know me, and usually put in a fresh batch of loaves into the oven while i shop for other stuff. then they give me a piping hot baguette/loaf all wrapped up and nicely ready for dinner. yummy

plus if you go by the shelves where packaged breads are, they have a whole foods organic whole wheat sliced bread. it has a great nutty flavor, lots of slices, and about 3.xx
all in all, their breads are significantly cheaper than at regular grocery stores and much much much healther.

also, do you have a mixer? i buy unbromated, unbleached organic flour and make bread at home. super easy, very little effort, no preservatives, and cheap - one big loaf made on a sunday lasts us several days. i wrap it in paper towels or cheesecloth while it is warm, and then in a bread basket or ziploc bag or covered dish (my preference cheesecloth and dish/basket cos you know how i am about chemicals in paper towels and zip bags laugh out loud ) but anyways, it doesn't dry out and doesn't mold. lasts days. and you made it with clean ingredients, so you know it is healthy (i use all organic ingredients)

Shoot, GG, I misled you. When I said cake pan, I was thinking of my 9 x 13 glass pan, not round cake pans. Other than my daughter's chocolate fudge twinkie filling layer cake, I nearly always make a 9 x 13 cake.
.
no worries sweetie. you inspired me to get on the ball and get stainless steel bakeware. maybe with tax refund money. my family thinks i am Crazy for being so particular about what I use for cooking and what kind of food/produce/meat/dairy i buy. wait till they see i am replacing all the bakeware. LMAO

For the love of apples, stop admiring greenie!! As if her head isn't swollen enough!
oh there are so many places i could go with this, so i'll just say this: it is my left knee that is swollen. Harhar

freud would find it very interesting that you mentioned apples and swollen heads EEK! in the same sentence. DH working a lot these days? laugh out loud

speaking of apples, and WF, i know i multiquoted kay12 and the quote disappeared. so thank you, sweetie, for checking up on me. WF not delivering today or tomorrow cos of snow. Sadwalk so no fresh food! tis okay, tis okay.
how are you feeling today?

I concur LMAO

Our grocery stores stink.
I know, right? Hy-Vee, Walgreens, KM, WM & T are all we have to count on. Before SD, we pretty much got our grocery deals at Aldi or Fareway. laugh out loud

Eew, where do you shop then? Sorry hug
I drive to the big town an hour and a half north of here to the Super T and we get lots of our food stuff there. And we get by on what my regular expanded T has the rest of the time. We only hit the grocery store like once a month (or more often if there's a deal which is rare)

Thanks, how is your little one???well, wegmans is not a great place in terms of deals, but a great main stream grocery store...
She's so adorable but she's a colicky little chit. She spends a lot of time in her swing. I mean, it borders on child abuse I think laugh out loud But, as soon as you take her out to snuggle her, she starts to cry again Frown I've heard Weg's has good food and decent prices yummy

So what's the most you'll pay per K-cup? I guess its probably different depending on if its a flavor you really like or whatever. Anyway, Bloom has Folger's flavors for 6.49, then minus coupon and super doubles, its only 4.49 for a 12-pack. Comes out to approx .37/cup. Not as cheap as I've seen some get it. But still not bad when you're running low.
I would say that is an okay price, not a steal, but about half price from what a box would be at kohls or target.. And if you need them or have overage in the order anyway, I would get them Smilie I have been getting mine online with the b2g2 coupon code thing and I get 4 of the big boxes 22 ct (maybe 24 ct) for 26.xx shipped..

Quote from thismom4deals :
I'd say .37-.38 per cup is about the most I'd pay for them....especially if I was low on them. It is nice to be stocked up so that I only have to take advantage of better deals. The price of coffee has just gone up in general too.
yep. I agree Smilie

I love cooking in the crockpot. I do my taco or quesadilla chicken like that.. Just add chicken and a jar of salsa.. I also toss in chicken with barbecue sauce and use that for bbq sandwich meat.. I add chicken and 2 cans of cream of chicken soup plus a little sour cream and let that cook all day until it falls apart, and put it over rice drool the crockpot is actually my favorite way to cook chicken ever!
I tossed steak in mine today and let it cook all afternoon.. One of those cheap thin steaks I got from target for about 1.50 after the TQ.. Then I opened a bag of TGI chicken fajita plus added a bag of the tyson precooked grilled chicken strips.. cooked with some onions and peppers and made everyone chicken and steak quesadillas.. My DH commented on how good the steak ones were. It was the first time I had tried making those. Will do again.. Thanks to target tonight's dinner for a family of 6 was less than 3 bucks!

I still shop Aldi a good amount. For produce....now that there's no T. coupon Sadwalk Gotta love cheap fresh pineapple in the middle of winter laugh out loud And bread I usually get there it seems like. Milk is a toss-up between there and T. depending which direction I am at when we're out. But yeah it totally stinks to not have a good grocery store. If I ever move that is one of my top requirements Coverlaugh

We had TGIF tonight Big Grin And I am mighty proud of myself for choosing that over homemade pizza.....dh got to come home a couple hrs. early from work because of the storm and the pizza sounded good but the TGIF chicken broccolli was way less pts. per serving.

The sour cream/soup idea sounds interestingly yummy, might have to try that. I think I've done similar things with soup/cheese but not sour cream drool We do the BBQ that way too!

OK, came to vent....

I seriously might have to start video taping all my Target trips and putting them on YouTube so Target gets exposed for how they treat coupon users. Explain this to me.....

I go to check out with a bunch of stuff
Cashiers scans all the stuff and tells me my total.
I hand over coupons and the cashier pushes an urgent button.
Someone comes over and says "UM, this is a lot of coupons and to maintain stock we can't accept all these"

I say, ok well how were you going to "Maintain your stock" if I had bought all this WITHOUT coupons because you had no issue until I had coupons. So I'm depleting your stock either way and isn't that your goal as a store to SELL stuff" The manager just looks at me has no answer. Seriously says NOTHING and I stand there just looking at him for a LONG minute. Then I say, I tell you what "Take this $200 worth of stuff and put it back on the shelf so you can "Maintain your inventory"

CRAZY CRAZY TARGET

Me too! We went to Kauai once (I won it in a contest) and I wanted to move there once I realized they had a Safeway laugh out loud No T, though. That would suck. I guess the trade-off would be living in paradise. Big Grin
