I thought we'd wake up to 6 or 7 inches this morning, but was disappointed when I looked out. I suppose I better run to the grocery before it does. Glad I got the little mama's done for this week. Now just need to check with my little neighbor girl to see if she needs anything - she's 86 and just a stem-winder; Last snow storm she decided she'd just go along instead of me picking up what she needed. It was a major production with all the stop and drop, buckle her in, buckle her out, open all doors, hold her cane while she arrange her (GIANT and I do mean GIANT) pocketbook in the cart, yadda, yadda, yadda... But you gotta love it; 86 and has all her marbles, and makes me ROTFL with her wise cracks. She keeps saying "I just don't get around as well as I did a year ago!" And I just reply, "But Ruth, you're 86! You're suppose to slow down alittle."
Kudos to you for helping her out!!! Yesterday was storm #1....I didn't think we were supposed to get as much as we did from that one. Enough for dh to get out the snowblower. I am eager to see how much we get from this one.

Now over on our side there's just barely a skiff. They bladed our parking lot and driveway this morning but it clearly wasn't necessary. Now down south, a whole different story according to the little papa - ice under the snow. Yikes!!! (I better not get a phone call this afternoon that they decided to take a drive to see how bad it really was!!!) Here, I keep waiting for the skies to open up and just lay some on us, but not so far. Well, off to collect Ruthie's list. Told her it was too cold out for her today with the wind.

Cold

it's in the single digits here with wind chill. come here and you could toss some water in saran wrap and leave em in the many cracks, fissures and potholes on the roads. make some ice in tiny crackly shapes within minutes. it will be free.

morning!
woot that's so wonderful! i'm so proud of you too!

maybe we can be breakfast buddies. something i need to work on also. 2 yrs ago i was eating breakfast every day. oatmeal in the winter, then honey bunches of oats in the summer, i think b/c they had 2.00 coupons. so i bought a whole bunch of cereal expecting to eat it during the summer but dunno why, just fell out of eating breakfast. trying to get back, but it's very sporadic.

i'm sure it's b/c i developed a nasty habit of late nite snacking in front of the computer so i'm not hungry in the morning. trying to break the habit but it's tuff in the winter when i love eating crackers and other salty carbs. those ny style pita chips and bagel chips from the 3.99 q were calling my name last nite! i need to rotate the stock in my pantry so i ate way too many triscuits instead Embarrassment

i really admire you gg!
I will be your breakfast buddy.

For the love of apples, stop admiring greenie!! As if her head isn't swollen enough!

Oh, I could just kiss your toes!! Thanks for posting that, and the coupons and stuff! The RA threads get so weighted down, its a chore to weed through them. Thank God for the recaps, otherwise I'd probably never figure out the deals.

I made it to 3 Blooms with the kids, and they behaved so well. I treated them to lunch at a little bagel place and then they got to share a Kit-Kat bar with me. Big Grin What can I say? The last of the big spenders, that's me...

Anyway, for anyone heading to Bloom, the Quaker cat deal IS working, so its a straight-up MM. I got lots and lots of nice freebies, and I think I have convinced hubby to let me go back out again tonight. Our freezing rain isn't supposed to start until at least 9:00, so that gives me plenty of time.

Saw lots and lots of couponers out today. Far more than I see at HT during their SD, but maybe that's because theirs lasts a week, not just one day. And can I just say, the Bloom day shift ... not the shiniest apples in the barrel!!!

So what's the most you'll pay per K-cup? I guess its probably different depending on if its a flavor you really like or whatever. Anyway, Bloom has Folger's flavors for 6.49, then minus coupon and super doubles, its only 4.49 for a 12-pack. Comes out to approx .37/cup. Not as cheap as I've seen some get it. But still not bad when you're running low.

I don't Keurig, but do they also have the Millstone ones? There was a $2 out for those. (wait... what's your super doubles up to? Just $1.99?)
They might work at Kmart, as I think Kmart's includes $2 Qs (this week only, $2 doubles, limit of FIVE Qs, and must have a $25 purchase).

TY SO MUCH!!! I went to all 4 hess's in my area today and found 1 of them with a 1/2 full tearpad!!!! Didn't want to bring on bad karma, so I restrained myself and only took 1/2 of that. We go through 2-3 bottles of this stuff on a regular day and 5-6 bottles on a busy sports-filled saturday, so I have got to get it for cheap or free! EEK! nod

Honestly, for anyone who doesn't deal shop like us, but is still looking to save some money, I send them to Wegman's. Their overall base price is so much better than other grocery stores, and their store brand is very high in quality. Can't beat their produce section. Now, their meat dept is more expensive and they don't run as great sales there, but the quality of meat is so much better. When hubby's mom and stepdad get here in a couple weeks, we will go there for stepdad to buy us steaks. He grills steaks for us and they are just amazing.

Do you have any idea how their overage works? Is it on pre-sale-prices? I rarely shop there, but I noticed with the last super double event, some coupons gave overage and some just doubled up to the price of the item.

Sounds like you already did great at Bloom! I'm just now reading your post. Overage works like it used to at HT. If an item is on sale, the q will double up to the regular shelf price or the full value of the q, whichever is lower. e.g. Regular price item is 1.99 and on sale for 1.50. My $1 q will double up to 1.99. Wish I could have found more overge items for this superdoubles, but my 2 main items that I found in their online shopping were not actually carried in the store. Mad

I'd say .37-.38 per cup is about the most I'd pay for them....especially if I was low on them. It is nice to be stocked up so that I only have to take advantage of better deals. The price of coffee has just gone up in general too.

Was it tootsie that had first mentioned cooking chicken in the crockpot because she can't stand to cook chicken otherwise? We've only tried this so far with chicken for tacos but today, it was teriyaki sauce for stir fry. OMG the chicken is awesome. About 20 minutes ago I added the veggies, don't know why I didn't add the frozen veggies earlier. Would have made it so simple.
