Glad you got them - hopefully you've found a place to use them that's not too much of a pain.

Love that ad! Doesn't little Darth do a great job? I think it's pure genius that they released it early to get 2+ full days of hype all to themselves! Brilliant!

It's an adorable commercial! And hey probably cost them a lot less online than that minute of airtime during the Super Bowl. I think it's $2 million per 30 seconds for ad spots?

Isn't it crazy how much the ad space cost? I heard pepsi is having at least 6 commercials! Can't even imagine how many 12-packs that's equivalent to...I'd rather have them spend their money paying me to "buy" their products laugh out loud And some of the commercials are so awful. I feel bad for those companies that spent all that $$$ and then everyone hates/ignores their commercial.

I agree completely! It's like, ever notice that medication prices didn't become so insane until drug companies could advertise? Some magazines are 50% medication ads now. Mad

Hi!! How are you doing? I hope well!! My first dd I was super duper excited.. and I always had to know what I was having... you know!?! However, in the long run with my last dd I never found out and bought sooooooo much stuff for both sexes cause I couldn't tell via u/s... so my SIL was due around the same time as me... and it worked out great cause she had a boy and I had a girl..so I gave her bags full of polo stuff lol
How many kids do you have? Any grandkids? HUGS!!
I just have one child. He is 31 - but developmentally disabled - so more like a 12 to 14 year old in many ways. I don't have any grandchildren. I have some great nieces and nephews though. My nephew just got full custody of his 7 year old twins. (Yippie!) And my niece just adopted a baby that was her first foster child and the baby's 14 year old brother a few months ago. They live about 6 hours away though.

If I wasn't on this damn diet they could send to me! And polenta and grits are not the same thing. Grits come from hominy and polenta comes from corn meal.
At birth. Ok, maybe it was a little later than that but he wasn't a year old. I distinctly remember that because I used his first birthday money to buy him more duplos. We must have had a few around -- I probably got them at a yard sale and he played and played with what few he had. And he played with them for year -- as in he was in college at 14 and he was still building stuff because I remember teasing him about it. "Put your Legos away and do your term paper". laugh out loud He just turned 24 and we have them packed up and saved. And let me tell ya... if he has kids, I am delivering Legos to them one handful at a time. Dropped on the floor as I leave.
LOL @ the legos! College at 14? Wow!

I heart rutabagas and parsnips. You can mash 'em, boil 'em, etc... My favourite way to eat a rutabaga is after it's been boiled with some salt pork - but that's probably not that healthy. laugh out loud
i think we should have a new rule that you can't say you love some food w/o posting a recipe you like so the rest of us can try it.

It is the dense breast tissue..NOTHING ELSE.. Thank god, thanking god..

It has been very long week starting monday.. and ending on a happy note.

Since CC radiology dept always has a radiologist and will tell the results immediately.. Went in for mamogram first, technician is a very sweet lady, and she told me doesn't look anything different, assuring me all the way..Ultrasound went smooth too, doctor told me atlast that it is dense breast tissue which is very common for my age and petite size.. So he told me go enjoy the weekend Smilie

Came running out the room, cried at the husband & the toddler, and all in all it did end well..But this instance made me realize the priorities.. and i am very thankful for all in my life including you lovable bunch.. Thank you for all your kind words, comfort, sharing..YOU ARE THE BEST and I lOVE YOU ALL..

Greenie: Hope your appointment went good..
really wonderful news!

I am thinking of sending him out to my sisters in wyoming this summer though cause my BIL would make him work construction type work every day!
i think this is a excellent plan for many reasons. first of all he would experience what the alternatives to college are. he could see if he preferred to learn a trade or go to a vocational school instead of college.

second he could earn money to get a car. you may want to consider matching what he puts towards a car so the more he earns, the nicer car he could get, to give him some incentive. i would also consider some rule like once he had a car he would have to work part time for gas and insurance. if he were to get his own car and experience the freedom it brings, it would be extremely difficult for him to give it up b/c he couldn't put gas in.

he would learn extremely valuable life skills. one of my college friends worked construction during the summer and finished his basement himself a few yrs ago saving thousands and thousands of dollars. bff's husband also worked construction during the summers while going to college and is extremely handy. he does all the minor repairs and installations around the house.

he's obviously in a rut and wallowing. it would provide a change in scenery and maybe get him interested in his life again.

on another note, found out today the mp single juice boxes are now 1.02Annoyed. and the quantum finish 10/12pks were 2.99 today compared to 4.44 at the other store earlier this wk. that an almost 50% price difference! target is Wacko.

*technically* I posted a "recipe". Cut rutabagas, peel, boil in water with salt pork. Consume with a smile... Big Grin Stick Out Tongue

A good one that I haven't done in a while and am now contemplating cuz that's what you do at almost 3am when everyone else is asleep...

potatoes
onions
carrots
parsnips
rutabagas
celery or celeriac
olive oil
sea salt
pepper
rosemary - fresh if possible
thyme - fresh if possible
cup or so of water or broth

Wash, peel, chunk veggies (use red potatoes and/or red onions for a little more color)
Drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, and toss together with the rosemary & thyme
Place in baking dish and roast in oven for about 20/30 minutes at around 425ish
Toss with the broth/water and bake for another 20 minutes or so - until nice and tender
Eat with a smile

Parsnips are good if you add them to potatoes also.

My oldest is definitely artistically inclined. Kind of takes after some folks I know... Whistling

Now to just figure out how to turn that into something she likes to do for possibly the rest of her life...

funny, i was going to say i probably wouldn't like parsnips and rutabagas mashed or boiled but roasted should be yummy. only problem is dh probably wouldn't eat it. he doesn't like celery or carrots and not sure about the parsnips and rutabaga. if he doesn't like something he acts like a little kid and has a temper tantrum.

hmmm, roasted potatoes sounds yummy. haven't bought potatoes since i read an article saying potatoes are laden w/ pesticides and farmers won't eat what they grow. they have their own personal patch. will have to investigate organic. sometimes it's really scary what they put in the food.

ok, it's incredibly late and i have to go to sleep. so i can tell gg about my trip to whole foods tomorrow.

Ugh. I hadn't read that about potatoes. Now I know why I don't read that much anymore. laugh out loud

Well - you could make a small batch for yourself - though, if you are a veggie fiend like me, a large batch wouldn't be a bad thing! I can eat a ton of this stuff allllll by my lonesome.

Oh yeah - if you like sweet potatoes, you could do mashed sweet potatoes and parsnips with a little brown sugar or maple syrup and butter...
