Oh that sounds good too!
Soft Granola Bars (from Baking Short & Simple, a Gold Medal/Betty Crocker Kitchen pamphlet, circa 1983)

1 c brown sugar
1 c vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 c regular or quick-cooking oats
1 1/2 c Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1 c raisins or cut up dates
1 c chopped nuts or flaked coconut
1 1/2 t ground cinnamon
1 1/2 t ground cloves
1 t baking soda
1/4 t salt

Honey Glaze
1/4 c honey
2 T butter

Heat oven to 350. Grease jelly roll pan. Mix brown sugar, oil and eggs in large bowl with spoon until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients except honey glaze. Spread in pan with spatula evenly. Bake just until the center is set but not firm, 17-22 minutes. Cool 15 minutes. Warm honey glaze ingredients just until heated thru (microwave or saucepan on stove). Drizzle bars evenly with Honey Glaze and cool completely. Bars can be stored tightly covered for up to 2 weeks, or wrap in moistureproof wrap and freeze up to 6 months.

Note: I don't ever put in the cloves or the coconut and I usually back the oil down to 3/4 c or I've also done 1/2 c pumpkin and 1/2 c oil as well.

I like that I don't have to get the mixer out to make these. My Dad loved these. I didn't say they were healthy, I said they were tasty yummy .

Okay, my TCC friends.. Just popping by for my good deal report.. I managed to hook some people up with cheap soda a few weeks ago, and here is another good deal..

CVS this week has coke 12 packs for 3.00 each.. Buy 15.00, get 5 extra bucks.

SO, grab 5 of the 12 packs 15.00
minus cvs 5.00/15.00 5.00 here [cvs.com]
minus 2.00/4 coke Wink 2.00

pay 8.00, get 5 extra bucks for a net cost of 3.00 for 5 coke 12 packs.. The deal is only going to last today because the coke sale ends at midnight..

Or you could do like the guy who framed up his 20something daughter's bedroom door, drywalled it, taped and mudded it, and put a fresh coat of paint on it. When she came home after a day and a half of partying with friends... her bedroom no longer existed; just a new wall where the door used to be.

L2BAM, I'm so sorry about your crappy syrup experience!! I have never tried that flavor, so I couldn't have given you any insight on it at all. I was hoping it wasn't one of the ones I recommended for you like SF Raspberry!!! hug

and Smack Bunnies. Because of you, there's a pan of brownies cooking in my oven. I haven't had brownies in for-evah! They are NOT on my diet plan, but with PMS looming, I need brownies dammit! Annoyed

oh, the $1/2 TQ for 6 packs of Pepsi pairs up nicely with the 6 packs on sale this week (today I guess is the last day) for 2.75! 2.25 for a 6 pack of 24 oz Diet Pepsi is sweet. I love keeping my bottle with me while I carpool LOL!!! Wink

Heard a commercial for Boystown today and it had kids/teens mouthing some of the things their parents say to them that are hurtful. "You are driving me crazy" was one of them. I was all Facepalm I say that ALL. THE. TIME.

I was so looking forward to this weekend to get a little mommy time but my husband is too nice of a guy and has several side jobs going on. Started off as work for a friend and now their neighbor and co-workers want work done. I just want sanity!!!!

Wish I could say that... I try to buy only the diet since I won't drink it, but ever so often I bring some home for me. Maybe a little too often lately.

I hope there's some nice TQ's next week + good sales to make up for me not shopping this week. I just can't seem to get myself out of the house.

And talking about getting out of the house - where are some good places to buy clothes? We all need some updates/adds to our wardrobes. We've got sears, jcp, kohls, belk, and a few other places around. Wondering who's got the best quality/prices lately.
