I had a good time yesterday! It was crazy to see that she looks so much like my Soph! I can't wait to see if she has blue eyes and dark hair like her as well! heart

I must be the crazy one. I've actually been trying to figure out a way to take my 7yo to Vegas sometime soon, preferably this year. I would love for him to see the facades of the crazy buildings on the strip. Places like the Pyramid & the Pirate Ship and its outdoor free show, And some of the indoor shopping areas of the casinos with their pretend Venice, Nile, circus etc. Oh, and the restaurant with the light show and the giant Frog that emerges from the top of a waterfall. But what I really want is to take him to see Cirque de Soleil's show "O". I went to it a few years ago and LOVED it. I think he would be absolutely mystified by it.

I think it would be fun to go for just a long weekend, tour the Ridiculous "Fake" Sights around the strip, taken in a dinner and show then go home. Only problem is that he goes to a Christian school and though I don't really care about what others think I guess I'm still just a bit worried about how Brian's Teachers or school friends parents would react to him saying he went to Vegas for vacation.
I don't think you are crazy! I know my 13 yo would love the same attractions that you mentioned and some of the more family friendly shows too! I saw go for it! woot

as far as the pirate show it is not child friendly any more, VERY scantily clad females, they made it super sexy, but the pirate boats are still pretty cool. DH works in Vegas a few times a year and we used olive very close so we have been a lot. I think there are lots of fun places to take the kids, mostly what you have mentioned as well as the botanical gardens at the bilagio I think. They have the M&M store on the strip too with a 3D movie and a fun factory thing to walk through, if it is fixed, it was closed when we were there last Oct and its free, just be sure to buy some m&m before you go!!!! The m&m in there are insanely overpriced! Make sure you warn you kid to not take anything or look at the papers people are handing out all over the strip advertising strip clubs, they shove them at you that and I think the cab advertisements are the most annoying with mostly naked women are the most annoying. We always notice other families out and about too, you just have to be on your toes and divert you path or their attention when you notice something inappropriate, it is Vegas after all.

ovaltine? horlicks? milk and honey? yogurt smoothie? soy milk? almond milk? rice milk? maybe just as a treat every once in awhile.

I was wondering if you didn't receive them..Laptop, I can totally relate to that, i have one laptop like that, no battery, lots of keys dont work, takes so long to boot, then it gives 'broken radio sound" all along, so i always send the brick coupon link to my mail, open them and print...better that way..
hug atleast we have that...

700 bucks!Faint

i spent 27.75 after about 18.00 in q's. will have to go again later in the wk for the wed-sat 4 day specials and go to a produce market or asian supermarket b/c produce prices were too high at the supermarket and i need eggs too. probably another 20+ bucks if i decide to buy the cheap chicken. i still have lots in the freezer. i could have just gone wed, but i needed an ingredient for dinner tomorrow and my neighbor was going so might as well go w/ her and get most of it over w/. will leave more time for target later this wkBig Grin.

make it an educational trip and go to the hoover damWink.

if you were to make it a week long trip, you could fly into vegas and drive to the grand canyon. i think vegas is the closest major airport. there are many other beautiful national parks in the vicinity also. a very long time ago, we flew into vegas, stayed overnite, best brunch ever next morning, hoover dam, grand canyon, sedona arizona, phoenix, scottsdale, flew home out of phoenix. we went w/ another couple and had a great time and lots of memories.

if anybody remembers in *my cousin vinny* he doesn't get any sleep b/c a train goes by the motel every half hr? that was flagstaff, az where we stayed for the grand canyon. the train ran behind the row of motels....all nite!

i haven't seen *O* but i highly recommend all the cirque du soleil shows i've seen except wintuk. we went to the orlando show w/ the same couple when their son was 3ish and he had the best time. saw banana shpeel last yr w/ my 8yr old nephew and he had a blast and laughed the loudest in the entire theatre.

it's a disposable society we live in. if it costs more than half to repair, i replace instead.

i broke the pot to my mr coffee and getting a replacement from mr coffee was outrageous, so i asked my sil to buy me a new coffeemaker for xmas. then i found the exact coffeepot in a goodwill store for 2.00. now i have 2 coffeemakers and i rarely use either, sigh!
