April 5, 2011, 3:13 am: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Evening everybody! Angie and Shesays, I owe you both reps as soon as it will let me! Thanks to both of you!
You're more than welcome but I have no idea what I did, other than hide on the away-from-the-teeth-side-of-you on the AMP contest.

But I'll take anything nice I can get. Today has been a NIGHTMARE. I woke up to find that one (or maybe both if I'm being paranoid) of my cats spilled a drink I left on the computer desk and it soaked the keyboard and the mouse. Totally destroyed them. So I hooked up an old keyboard and mouse, but the bottom row of letters and the space bar were dead.

Soooo.....after I left the senior center where I volunteer, I went to Office Depot and got a really cheap keyboard and mouse. Then I went home (two more buses) and couldn't get into my apartment. Some maintenance man had been in to check the smoke detectors and, despite the HUGE note taped to the inside of the doorknob, locked that as well as the deadbolt. The doorknob lock has been broken for like 5 years but I don't care because it's the usual "Got an old credit card we can open it with?" type of lock. But I couldn't get it opened so went upstairs and bothered a very nice old woman who thinks I'm crazy anyway. She let me use her phone to contact the managers. They gave me the number to a locksmith who took almost two hours to show up.

He couldn't pick the lock because it was SERIOUSLY broken, so he credit carded it open and had to replace the whole thing because it's old and he couldn't fix it. To make a long story short (too late, I hear you moaning), he charged me $249. If I hadn't gone to the ATM on Monday, I'd never had had that much cash on hand. The managers said they'd reimburse me for the cost. Can't wait to see how long THAT will take (shades of Camel awards).

But to top everything off, when the flake who locked the doorknob was here checking the smoke detectors, he messed up the one in my bedroom because it's now making that ear shattering beeping noise. Even with the bedroom door closed, it's offensive. I'll be wearing earplugs and sleeping in the living room tonight.

Well, talk about ranting.....

No need to apologize! I was just trying to let you know that a number of us will probably post reminders throughout the day on Monday.

Wow, so sorry to hear about your miserable day. Sound like it should have been a Friday the 13th for yu. What ya can do is just take the batteries out of the smoke alarm and that will stop the schreeching. And call your managers back again. Good luckhug

Here's a mystery.

My brother's girlfriend played the owtw & snus contest and has won the earbud's and received them.My brother has been on the mailing list for year's and does not play any of the contest and his girlfriend only does the one account of her own and yesterday my brother called me to tell me he just received the earbud's from the snus contest addressed to him from the snus contest and wanted to know if I was playing for him because his girlfriend wasn't and I am not...Confused
I thought maybe they had extra's and were sending them out as b-day present's because his is in April....but he said there was a card that said thank's for playing the snus challenge...Confused

This better not be his April fool joke or I am going to smack the piss out of him...

I don't know what you mean by "I crapped on this one"?? I wasn't attacking anything on here, other than a complaint about trying to enter the Newport contest!!
