Hi all,
I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.
Everyone is welcome!
I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.
This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.
So, I hope it catches on !
So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Entering points will take some time, but well worth it for our family.
Here's a recipe that should tie it all in:

The best way to de-rust a skillet is using lots of elbow grease and a wire brush or steel wool pad. It'll eventually flake off, but its going to take a while. Something like naval jelly might help, but since its a fairly strong acid, you want to take precautions with it and make sure none lands on anything you dont want to harm.
Once you have the rust off, place the pan in your oven for a cleaning cycle or over a really hot campfire to burn off all of the old seasoning. Your pan should be grey when its down to the bare cast iron.
Then. rub the pan with crisco or lard on every surface, and place it upside down in an oven (foil paper on the rack underneath helps with cleaning) at 300 degrees or so for a few hours to get a nice, black, re-seasoned finish.
Really badly rusted pans can be sandblasted to get them clean, but it requires a machine shop to do, and will cost more than what the pan is worth.
WAY TO GO ! ! !

Believe it or not I seen this on a food show, and I have tried it myself.."it Works'
fill your sink with a cup of Draino drain cleaner, crystal or liquid doesn't matter, and enough water to cover over pan placed in sink, leave sit over night. next day use a light scouring pad to remove old scum.
you won't have to rub hard because its going to be falling off on its own, then rinse pan well.
coat the pan with crisco or lard on every surface, and place it upside down in an oven (foil paper on the rack underneath helps with cleaning) at 300 degrees or so for a few hours to get a nice, black, re-seasoned finish.
vote for your chance to win not sure just if already been posted just got up!
Good Morning one and all!
