So..............remember a few weeks ago I told you I got an email about winning a TV and I was CERTAIN it was a scam? Well, it may not have been a scam, but it WAS a mistake. Got the following email this AM:

To: Carol

Dear Carol,

With our most sincere apologies, we regret to inform you that due to an administrative error you have been mistakenly informed you won the LG television prize in a sweepstakes you entered. Unfortunately, you were not the winner, so we are unable to award you the prize.

Our sincere apologies for the confusion and misunderstanding. Our readers and entrants are most important to us -- and we want you to know we are resolving this issue so it absolutely NEVER happens again.

Thank you for your understanding."

Is anybody getting email codes for the Nestlé IWG? I'm having no luck getting anything from them.

Thank you, Gary and all who sent them emails. But it ain't gonna happen. Somewhere in the bowels of a D.L.Blair wannabe company, a new employee pushed the wrong button. We've all made mistakes in our lives and maybe this is payback for one I made in 1993 (yes, I went back through my diaries to find the last time I made an error ). I didn't believe the initial email when I received it and was not upset by its being wrong.

Someone came on this forum (never heard of him/her before) and said that he/she had received the same emails but had actually believed the first one and was devastated. THAT was sad.

On the bright side, I received the Hot Tamales I won in January 2002 and the Bic coupon. Plus, of course, I was one of the first to win a flash red hoodie.

So thanks again , but please don't worry about me or that $#*Q(#@P company called InTouch Weekly ( just kidding).

ok here is what I sent to those wankers.

It has come to my attention that you notified a contestant, Carol, of her recent winnings to your sweepstake then you proceeded to respond to her with the following remarks "due to an administrative error you have been mistakenly informed you won the LG television prize in a sweepstakes you entered".

Since it is apparent by your own admission that the error was clearly on your part how can you NOT honor your origional notification of her winnings. I find your revocation quite disturbing and would hope that you correct this injustice without further delay.

With todays inclimate financial standings people are forced to make wiser decisions in the direction that we distribute our dwindling personal funds. I would imagine any company that is cast under a bad reputation would not fare well.

In Touch Weekly did the same thing to me. I received that same e-mail you got, back on April 6, advising I had won the LG TV ... and the "SORRY our bad you didn't win" e-mail today. Disappointed beyond belief. I had been dreaming about that TV for a week

I am also from Funny Farmers United. We are really disappointed that you sent an email saying Carol and another of our members won a TV then sent a recent letter saying it was a mistake. How can you do that to people???? We read your Mag and trust that you are legit. This is just WRONG! If you don't make this right I will make sure to let all my face book, email, bloggers, MySpace, and twitter friends that you don't honor your contest obligations. How can you get their hopes up and then just smash them. Not very nice In Touch.

WTG, Gary! The thing that bothers me most about that is a lot of us entered that one, and there was not a flood of these emails going out to all of us. Only to shesaid & one other new guy that posted here today. There is definately something fishy going on there. I'm wondering if most of the magazine ones are fakes... haven't seen any actual wins from them, has anyone else?

Okay, folks, now I'm confused. The person who came in and said he'd also received the same emails is named tauntonlake. I figured he was over in the Snus forum and heard about the error. I wanted to see what had been said over there (because I'm nosey) but couldn't find anything. So I went back through our postings and found his. Then I checked to see if I could figure out how he'd learned about it.
