Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Having a problem with channel lock answers the first one is the Executive Manor, second is George B DeArment and from what I can tell the third one is 10 years but what if a president dies right after taking office?? Wouldnt that give the next guy a possible 12 years??? Has something to do with the 22nd ammendment http://www.channellocksweepstakes...lenge.aspx

The first answer is right. The 22nd amendment to the constitution says not only that "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice" but also that if you have acted as President for more than "two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once".

The answer therefore is 10 years. 2 years (but not a day more) where you assumed the office of President without being elected, followed by 2 four year terms of elective office.
