April 24, 2011, 3:13 am: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

I pulled the seat out and put it next to the bike

you can see the water bottle mounts are below the length of the seat post

there must be some other obstruction
loosen the locking clamp and wedge the opening open a little with the handle of a screw driver or piece of wood
dont drop it inside bounce
I've tried everything I can think of. The bike shop will take care of it tomorrow, or I will cut the seat post as suggested by Dabble-Inn.

The first picture shows the seat as low as it can go and also the bottle water mounts. The second picture (tries) to show the post and how far it can extend into the bike frame. It would have been a better picture if my arms were longer and I were able to hold the camera, hold the seat post, and keep the dog out of the picture at the same time. But, it's clear that the water bottle mounts is stopping the seat post from going all the way down into the bike frame.

I can't tell from your pic where the top screw is
camera phone right shine some more light on it
take another pic

was that an owtw clue bounce

don't cut it it needs to be a certain length for support so it doesn't break off

The one I looked at had the little clicking levers. But the salesman said most people like the twist grip better cuz you can shift much faster from top to bottom gears.. So that sounds like an upgrade there. One more thing, Does the front shocks have a lock-out? It's a little twist lever on top of the shock

1st tighten the center allen screw in the stem
then tighten the 2 allen screws on the right side of the colar
that is right below the center screw and on the right side

2 screws verticle to the stem
here they are

thanks for the pic. I was being stupid. what I thought was screwed tight really wasn't. I went back and tried tightening the bolts. all the bolts you mentioned especially the side vertical ones went in another 3-4 turns. I also had to remove one of the black rings in order for the cap to bolt on. Did I do something wrong?

On a side note, I was expecting the lever type gear shifters as pictured on the Sports Chalet site. Disappointed I got the twisting type gear selector. Also in another description, it states metal pedals. I got plastic ones. Kind of wish I didn't go for the bike now.

we got the 2011 model instead of the 2010 model
the biggest difference is 21 speeds instead of 24
the pedals make no difference, and the twist shifters aren't so bad but I would prefer levers too

maybe we should all call CS at Marlboro again

Kinda weird that you're not here. I'm hoping that you're off doing Easter things with your family and that the tornado that hit St. Louis earlier today missed you and your people!

I don't know which would be scarrier, living in Ca. or living where you are now with the tornadoes and all that crap. But you must enjoy it? I know you have great weather most of the time.
Tornado doesnt devestate near as much area and only lasts 5 minutes. We have them about once a week here in the spring

It went about a mile south of my son tonight. They installed the heater today finally!!! Ive been really busy getting the house ready for my sister to have her surgery Tuesday. She wants it perfect in case something happens and everyone has to gather here!! It a simple procedure but sometimes things happen. Worst is if the Dr sneezes holding the laser!!

I'm sure everything will be fine with your sister.Smilie

I can't imagine living where tornados happen...gotta be so scary! We had a huge wind storm the first winter in this house...knocked the power out for four days. No generator then, but neighbors with electic heat gathered here and I cooked for everyone on my wood stove. We had just moved in, and didn't even have a stove to cook on yet. The bridge over Hood Canal got blown away and wasn't re-built for several years. But that was an unusual storm...nothing like tornados or hurricanes that happen in other parts of the US.
