Hey all, so today at lunch J and I were discussing the changes in our family and how Sophia has been handling them. So we decided to get the girls a gift for when Lily is born. I was thinking a teddy bear with that says I am a big sister or something like that. I was looking on amazon, but there are none in the baby section sold by amazon So I was looking around online and I found a few, but I am still not sure. I am gonna look on the photo sites and see if there are still teddy bears around and then maybe I will make a custom one for each girl? IDK, anyways, I am open to ideas if any of you have any thoughts!

When Kiley was born we had a gift for Cole from her ready to go. It was this big Buzz Lightyear Toy that he had wanted FOREVER. He loves that thing, he still plays with it.

OK ladies, any ideas?

I am thinking about DS reception. colors are pink and blue. The reception is an open house 2-6 on a Saturday. I am renting the senior center for it. At most 100 people invited and that is a big stretch I am sure. I have some votive holders I can put on the tables. Where is a good place for cheap votives? They have a few vases with flowers and ribbons I guess. What else can I put on the tables? Where get table cloths? I was thinking the York peppermint bits that look like blue and white m&ms. Didn't get any after Valentines pink/red m&ms Also food. They are making maccaroni salad and balogna sandwiches (because they have balogna) that they will cut in triangles like finger sanwiches. I have some hot dogs from a recent sale that I could make or cut up with BBQ sauce. They have chips. and punch. What else could we do that is cheap not too much work and nice to make this special for them? You can throw out lots of ideas and I can just ponder and talk to them about it. Don't be offended if we don't do it but thanks in advance for the help.

I snuck away too - took 2 kids to the doctor, got the little one's picture taken, drove 3 hours round trip to the big cities north of here, drug 3 kids along, did a couple T runs, went to BCF, no codes Drove instead alllll over the 3 cities looking at Hy-Vee's and Walgreens, found some but it was random.


I would grind the balogna up into ham salad and skip the weiners unless you cut them up into baked beans.

I have one big bag of Valentines day m&m's, will that work? I can send them today.

Chocolate covered pretzels can be dipped in almond bark tinted pink and blue...I'm trying to think of what's cheap....I wish you lived closer, I did our wedding and still have all the stuff (including votives) that needed a good home....does anyone have a big pork roast? I thought maybe since you live on a farm you might have one or know someone who does, seems like that's always a go to around here and you could roast it and shred it w/bbq for sandwiches.....deviled eggs are cheap and easy to do (but as you know...so time consuming)....if you are making the cake, add instant pudding to the mix - it makes it more decadent and not so much like boxed mix....if you can get a hold of some yards of tulle, that makes for wasy decorating - can be made into bows, or table runners or swags - the posibilities there are endless. Christmas lights add a twinkle too and most people have those laying around. Also, canning jars with sand and a votive are a country lantern and those are cute. Relish trays and veggie trays are pretty inexpensive if you do it yourself.

I don't know but I am going to look tonight. Have you shopped at Walmart since they are giving you overage back as cash? Daughter tried a few Q's last week and it went flawlessly but she bought other items to eat up the overage. I just ordered a few Q's that I hope will give overage (Purex) and will try next week.

I think your ideas for the reception are great ones...especially the twinkling lights...If the tablecloths are sheer enough, they twinkle through the fabric & look so pretty. We have used the sand in the jars/votives for different events and they are very pretty. Man, I wish we all lived closer to Chris. I think between all of us, we could "getrdone"

My hubby's partner's wife woke up Thurs morning complaining of an awful headache. Minutes later she collapsed and was rush to the hospital. It was a brain aneurysm and she passed away early afternoon today.
It is also her birthday and today she would have been 51 years old. No warning at all...

Needless to say dh will head up to CT for a few days. We thought it best that I stay here to keep an eye on the pups.

My cousin highly recommended buying a nice doll for my 5yr old when the baby is born so she can take care of it while I am taking care of the baby. My mother in law has been wanting to buy an american baby doll for her but I also thought of a baby alive.

Did you look at CVS? They have bears on their website...19.99...we don't have a CVS here so I don't know anything about them but maybe an option?

Walgreens also shows a bear on their website!

Can't you get teddies at T? I also think you can find a small t'shirt to put on the teddy...
Then you can sew, applique..whatever you want on the tee...Or...Use Iron-On transfers...
Now that I think of it, you can probably buy all this stuff at Joanns or Michaels with q's, even the teddies

Oh, and add teaching Dallas to ride a bike. She went on her own for a good 20 yards or so several times. I will be achy and sore in the morning, but that is what I get for not keeping up the once Adonis like physique I once had.

How do you make a cold corn salad? I have corn in the freezer if I want to give it upo. home grown and frozen.

Nope. But we had zero falls because I was running behind her using a very wide base. I suppose playing offensive line in high school has finally had a real world application.

Furbabes are still doing well and Bgirl can fully hear my loud mouth again. What a blessing that is for us.
She has had no seizures so hopefully this new med will keep on working.

Bboy is doing fine also. His leg is still bothersome but we think the laser treatments are helping.

Mom has been acting strange once again. Staring at the ceiling and choking on her food again but who knows.
