ok ladies......it sucks to get old but the alternative is worse. Once menopause passes, you will have 10 or 15 years of bliss. No worries, no problems. Lol most of you are fairly healthy. I have a serious heart condition, seizure disorder, fibromyalgia,high blood pressure and walk (just barely) with a cane).........but i don't have hot flashes.you all will get through this, i promise.
Stopped by the cemetery and all is well. They have even replaced dh's missing brass vase. Son reported it on monday and a new one was there today. How is that for customer service?
Went to kohls and target and out to lunch and then grocery shopping! The prices get higher while you are in the store. Ugh!

OMG I am totally understanding this!!! I haven't really been sleeping anyways so it's not like the hot flashes are waking me up. I'm just laying there watching tv and all of the sudden I start sweating and want to rip my cloths off and if Lauren, Jake and John didn't live here, I totally would! Yesterday I actually had one during the day in a store. There was a lady next to me that noticed!!! She just smiled at me and said "hotflash??" I was at the store to buy light weight pj's since it's still cold at night here so I can't really wear summer ones yet but having the heavy ones on during a hot flash is killer! Then on top of all the hot flash crap, in the last year I have been having to pee like every hour. I used to be famous for being able to hold it. Yep getting old sucks!

AMEN SISTERS!!!!! Right there with you...And, I seem to be wearing my heart on my sleeve lately. DS just made a remark to me earlier today. I had to just get up and leave the room. The tears just flow so easily these days. (he didn't even realize how he said what he said)... I'm seriously thinking I need to be on anti-depressants. Been doing some research on 5-HTP a "natural" one. Actually bought a bottle but haven't taken the plunge yet.

let's see... i have 6 bridesmaids, 1 MOH, 2 flowers girls, 2 ring bears, 6 ushers, and 1 best man. as of now they are wearing "mermaid" in the david's bridal collection. BUT i may change that to "pool"... i really want it to look like tiffany blue, and the mermaid looks more green. i dunno. LOL no clue on the first dance yet. we have our engagement session tomorrow though should be fun. thanks for asking!

Chris, I looked at the pictures (all 400 something of them !) and I cried lol Your son looks so young and I kept imagining how hard it must have been for you to watch your little boy get married. I don't know if you've ever heard this song before but the whole time I was looking at your pictures it was playing in my head. Thinking of all of you and sending up prayers for the strength to get through. I had to visit the principal's office. I couldn't believe how nervous I was! No one was in trouble, I just went in to advocate for ds(wanting him in higher level classes). I hate confrontation and find advocating for my kids to be one of the biggest challenges of being a parent--one of the most important as well though! I think it went well...

Oh of course!! I didn't think of him DUH! I could tell he looked awfully proud to just be the clerk or a witness lol. I'm glad someone from her family came to wish her well - the look on her face when he was on one knee in the courthouse was priceless btw, that made me LOL. There is a picture of me looking at DH with one eyebrow raised and half-rolled eyes - I can't remember what we were talking about but the picture is hysterical. My sister put it on our dad's digital frame for Christmas that year and it is still playing in their house LOL

I had sweats last year for a few months and they totally went away so I was hoping that was it...
All of a sudden out of nowhere they came back...
Sucks big time especially at night.

I sleep naked, the air in the bedroom is turned down at night to 72, ceiling fan going, AND a stand up fan blowing on me...Dh thinks I'm nuts since he is freezing...I say...Too bad

Happy Birthday Leah!

Had a good day. It was almost 70 here and spring is in the air! Took DS and DH to walmart to get his fishing license and bait and then went to a couple different places so they could fish. I just sat in the sun and enjoyed the time. The boys took their BB guns out and shot them off for over an hour and I just enjoyed the sun again!

Would have been great if DD was with us, but she was off playing with a girlfriend!

The boys took their golf clubs to our city 6 hole course and their fishing poles again...a little creek runs by hole 3 and they take a fishing break!

I threw some stuff in my Ninja (have I told you all I love my Ninja blender?...I do!) Made poppers, another kind of peppers stuffed with the "stuff" added some crab meat and stuffed some mushrooms with it. Then added carrots and radishes to make a cracker dip with it. DH will grill some chicken and we will have nummy supper!

I just had a drink...I think my 3rd drink in about 8 months, so watch out world! DH should get his license back in a month and I will be SO happy to be done driving all the time!

Good Morning Everyone...........It is finally going to be Spring in the Burg tommorrow. It is going to be almost 80 degrees. Busy weekend. Son is appearing as a clown at the Shrine Circus. Tommorrow, the girls are assisting/photographing American Legion Easter Egg Hunt. What is wrong with this picture? My adult children (who have no children) are playing as clowns and with.Easter Bunny? Candy is photographing 30 kids tommorrow, not sure how many next week and at least 100 for the Fire Dept. in my neighborhood the day before Easter. We are heading out here soon to pick up supplies for the Bunny Photos.
I want to run by the cemetery and check my parents and grandparents graves to see if the vases are there. My grandparents are buried in an older more secluded section and I just don't have a good feeling about this.DH is buried next to his parents so I know thier's is safe.

I am no therapist but to me it seems like your mom is showing almost stalking like behavior (drives by the windows to see if she can see inside) I know as a mom to adult children it's very hard to let go, but I would never dream of going to that extent. The most important lesson I learned as a parent was when Lauren went away to college in another state and I only got to see her maybe 3 times a year. She grew up so beautifully and independant and it was only because of the space between us. When she lived close I couldn't help but want to be involved in her life and protect her.

The other thing I was thinking about was, I'm not sure if I am remembering this correctly, but didn't you and Gabe live with your mom before you got married? If so, this might help explain things a little better to you. My sister and her 2 kids lived with my mom for about a year when she got divorced. My moms relationship with the 2 kids changed to the point of being more of a mother then that of a grandmother. It's pretty much unavoidable too. When they moved out my mom missed them like crazy so maybe your mom is missing/stalking Gabe and all the questions are because she just wants to make sure that things are good there for him. It's very hard to fall back into the grandmother role just as for me it's pretty impossible to fall back into the aunt role with Sara and Anthony. Once you've spent some time caring for a child in a home environment, they become like your own children. Thats the main reason I could never be a foster parent. I bond quickly and deeply and I would be stalking the parents if they got the children back to make sure they were being taken care of. I'm not saying this is whats going thru your moms head or that she doubts you can take care of him as well as she can, I'm saying is it possible that she is missing him living with her so badly and thats why she's going overboard with the questions and the drive bys.

Sorry Rach that I haven't been responding much these last few days.
Too much crabbiness for me also. Dh has been out of the house 7a-11p everyday since we got back. It's a big bikefest weekend and of course they have a booth and such so he feels he has to be there constantly.

Because of that I am furbabe sitter so not enough time in the day for errands. I am concentrating on Mom right now.

Nothing really has changed. She is still eating a little but only a little. The drugs are working, I think, to keep her relaxed and pain free but so very sleepy. I have not seen her awake in a week now.

My girlfriend has been on vacation and she comes back on Mon so I am hoping to get a full story of what's happening and then she can call me when Mom is awake so I can go see her then. I usually like to spend a few hours at lunchtime so I can feed her but the timing is off now as she has not been lunching.

On top of all that my menopausal symptoms have come back with a vengenance. The sweats are brutal and I am awaken every 2 hours at night with them. Needless to say I am super duper bitchy with very little sleep so it's a good thing I have not been around dh much. I nearly snapped his head off the other night so he is keeping his distance

Sorry, that's my public service announcement. It's my job now that we lost Nathan.

Had our GS today! We met my goal, so I am happy, but boy am I tired. I set up the GS (didn't life any boxes, but put all the product out) and then ended up going to a bunch of GS's myself. There were a ton listing strollers, so I wanted to check them out since we are still looking. Unfortunately, by the time I got there, all the strollers had been sold. Oh well, I will keep looking. Anyways, then I went back to my sale (DH and my bro had been manning it) and worked there until 2. I was having contractions by the end, so I came home and put my feet up for a bit. Then after we got all the stuff back on the back porch, I cleaned up the rest of the back porch (since there was new room made from less stuff being stored out there. It looks so much nicer now! Now I need to put a few more things away in my newly vacated bins and then have one of the guys put it out in our storage bin in the back yard! Feels good to get so much accomplished!
