He's right - someone DOES have to pay for it and their name is THE MANUFACTURER. If they didn't expect coupons to be redeemed they wouldn't issue the dang things. It's just like cash to the store so that bullsh*t of your deals costing someone else more is complete crap. Stores put out promos to draw people in and they fully expect people to shop there and buy the stuff, who cares whether you pay the bill or the manufacturer does, the damn bill is getting paid. laugh out loud

hun I just had to pop in here... if not just to get it out.... Mine feels kinda the same.. difference i think is mine is younger and im still able to get my point across a bit... we also are farmers... and heres my arguement to that one......thing is, that i have yet to see a coupon out for a regular old head of lettuce, or a lb of tomatoes, or even off any pork chop or a lb of hamburger that was direct from farm.... All the q's are issued by the companies who sell, not produce, and that company STOLE my money, through various programs, government subsidies and other loopholes by buying our crop/animals at dirt cheap prices most of the time netting us very little profit if a profit at all, and they are still able to offer these stinkin q's and give their high ups a ton of bonuses! So if they can afford to offer the q's by gyping me out of the $ i actually earned, I then i am fully entitled to any and all of it I can back from them even if it comes in the form of 42 boxes of free cerealSmilie

I have only read 1 book by Jodi Picoult, which was My Sister's Keeper and I loved it! After you posted this yesterday I downloaded the rest of her books! I had found this recipe that almost taste as good as what she sent me. Made the bars for two Xmas's and everyone loves them

Almond Bars
Cream together:
  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 8 oz almond paste
Add and beat:
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
Add and beat:
  • 2 cups flour mixed with 1/2 tsp salt
Press into a greased (Pammed) 9×13 pan. Top with 1/2 cup sliced almonds. Bake for 45 minutes at 300° or until lightly browned. Glaze while warm.
Glaze:
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 3 tbsp milk
Mix til smooth…spread over hot bars.
I usually do the bar mix in my food processor from start to finish. It makes baking these goodies really fast and easy

I'd say it depends... are you up to giving her a foot massage (if that's what she wants), or a back massage, or light candles around the bathtub for her to go and soak for awhile... then I'd say your odds go up.

Thanks hun, we will just stick to build a bear I think. There is supposed to be a $10 off $30 q in the paper this weekend, so that should help! I just need to buy a second paper to make sure to get a better bang for our buck. J is pretty set on taking them to BAB, which is cute, so I will just try not to think to much about the costs. laugh out loud Afterall, its not everyday they have a baby sister being born. I really appreciate the offer though! heart hug

DH's family would NOT be impressed unfortunately. My friends have said how much they love my giving but doesn't help.
I agree though that it is not stealing. You better believe they are doing just fine.

I did get free pork chops once from a "pork the other white meat" campaign coupons. That was a winner! And I agree with what you said but that doesn't mean he will. He is not rational when it comes to this stuff.
