Great start, great start, is going to have to go back and watch them all again to get caught up. TOO many storylines to remember for 9 months and then try to pick up where things left off. I missed the catchup-a-thon HBO was doing this weekend.

Same here rewatching the previous season and hope that helps clear up my confusion on some parts.

I was disappointed in not seeing Brienne with King slayer on a chain but that will have to wait. Loved seeing Dany and her dragons. Also enjoyed the part with Jon Snow and Yiggret beyond the wall.

Loved that part where she mentioned that the Giants are rather shy but don't stare at them. If you stare too much then they become less shy. And if they become less shy they have been known to beat a man into the ground like a spike or something like that. laugh out loud Couldn't help but laugh at her matter-of-fact description.

I haven't read the books, but it's driving me crazy that good-for-nothing Tarly manages to stay alive. Probably my least favorite character with all of his bumbling and stumbling around.

Sam? laugh out loud I didn't like him at first, but he grew on me. If I recall correctly, I think he ended up with some of the chapters I really liked.

I was going to say some of my favorite chapters, but that's not true. I was just happy that they weren't absolutely dull the entire time Smilie

Well spotted! Looking her up though, she played Mrs. Granger in one of the later movies. The only other HP movie that Mrs. Granger appeared in, they used a different actress, Heather Bleasdale.

why is Theon in this season?? He doesnt reappear until book 5! Seems to me that he is taking away time from other characters.

I was wondering where he was actually. Were the events of the show like the book? Did they jump ahead 2 books just for Theon's plot development?

So far they have jumped 2 books for Theon. They are skipping within book3 for Dany. Example: Beristan Selmy doesnt show up until the end of book 3 and she doesnt find him in Astapor as shown in episode 1.

Im currently reading book 4 and almost done with it, so it is kind of annoying to see Theon in this season when there is so much happening in book 3. They could have left Theon for next season as book 4 is not that exciting compared to book 3.

I figured at some point they would have to blend 2-3 book together but I didn't think they'd jump so far ahead so quickly. Then again, they can't keep the actor on payroll and not use him for 1-2 seasons. Sadly that's not how contracts work. But if they burn out his storylines too soon then they'll cut him from the rotation sooner and well I guess we'll have to see if we really mind that or not when the time comes.
