May 7, 2011, 3:13 am: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

I guess that's why there's that quote: "You can't pick your family, but you CAN pick your friends". There's so much out there that provide us with warm and fuzzy feel good moments - like what we all get here on FF. Our Mom was very religious, very devout (sp?), but she never pushed it on anyone. She guided by example. The other adage, "you attract more bees with honey.....". Hug2
exactly. my 2 sisters in calif are very religious but do not agree with the way my brother pushes it. he used to come to my work and ask me wear I was gonna be when I die. dang

Okay, my biggest win of the week:

After 2 years: I have a JOB!!! I won't be around as much & will miss a lot when I skip things during weekdays.

I'll still be here on & off, but nothing like before. I just wanted to make sure I thanked you guys for being such wonderful company while I was going through less than desirable times.

On that note, it is now officially weekend

congratulations on the job

By the sounds of what I've heard in the past posts, you were you're fathers favorite. I am to. And it ticks my sis right off. Only my Dad has nothing left to give. Worked ALL his life 2 and 3 jobs and is now in a rest home in NY. Brother just finalized closin on his house this Tuesday in Alabama which goes all to Medicaire. I'm gnna see if I can possibly copy the email he sent me . It is hilarious..... When he was trying to do the closing.
Hmmmmm....not sure about being Dad's favorite (but if that's what Sis says, I'm honored she said it). She may have given me credit for taking care of him for 7 years after his stroke, but she was just as important with that too! Bummer about all the $ going to Medicare....sure as heck doesn't sound right! At least your Dad has YOU. And if you stop and think about parents and kids - when the parent gets older and needs help they sometimes aren't really aware if they're showing "favorites" - it's just them getting older. Our Dad was 90 when he passed away and there were days when he got along better with her than me and vice versa. I just pray that when I'm old and infirm, someone will be there to help...........we just never know. Jeeeeez.............they do call me "chatty" for a reason. EEK!laugh out loud

Subject : 2494 West Main Daleville

Ronnie , Cathy, Butch, Tammy

Just to update you. or ( Y'all)

Sunday night I flew down to Dad's for the anticipated closing on Dad's house. As you may be aware, our Realator, or Alabama realators have been impossible and very evasive.

This was the third time our agent requested me to be down. As you know, two prior occasions I reserved tickets only to be told " cancel buyer bank not ready"

Last Thursday, our dear broker ask that I be down for last Friday, or a Monday closing. " Fool me three times?" I waited, and within hours told "cancel, Buyer attorney not available. Tuesday at 3:00 pm.

I couldn't adjourn a three day Jury trial that started Wed at 8:45 and the last flight back from Panama City was 5:40 . considering 90 min drive and 1 hour pre-checkin I had to be on the road by 3:00. I told Broker's and counsel this, and they scheduled for 1;00 pm. It gets better.

At 11 am I receive on my blackberry, the HUD 1 statement of Sale ( this outlines all costs and credits and the bottom line $ amount) .
On my two inch phone screen its unreadable. I email up to Butch, Tammy and Dalton to interpret . Bottom line, its wrong as to seller credit to buyer ; 1k off, and additional seller costs of repairs that were not approved by Butch or I. I email our Broker with no response.

1:00 closing is at Attorney Ms. Spivey's office across from Courthouse in Ozark. This is Mayberry land. I mean I am in Mayberry as Barney Fife is walking a beat with chalk on a pole marking tires for parking violators. Floyd's outside his Barbershop waiting for a customer. Cue Twilight zone theme music. If I see Gomer I'm out of here.

As I enter for the closing, our dear agent seeks to warmly greet me, and is rebuffed when I say I have some questions regarding the figures. " Well never in my life have I had such a difficult person" . Now I am not one who has been subject to southern charm, I don't think this is it. I tell our dear Agent Ms. Simmons the seller credit is $1,500 not $2,500, and the repair cost on the documents ( around $540) were not approved or authorized. " Well yes, the credit is $1,500. and you will pay the repairs, as Buyer has already closed his mortgage earlier today"

My polite NY response was " Well this Deed and I will be seeing "Y'all" Attorney Ms. Spivey referee's and hastens to call her client and the mortgage company about the thousand dollar err.

Ms. Spivey indeed had the Southern charm . All of it. With the body and blonde locks she subdued my Deed with the promise her client was bringing the thousand dollars down.

After I ask our broker Ms. Simmons for a receipt for the commision paid she is furious . " We don't do that here."
" The brokers mutually deducted the repairs ($540) from our commisions is that what you want?"

" Yes, exactly"

" Well I have a client awaiting for me in my office" and Ms. Simmons leaves Mayberry.

Enter Attorney Spivey who tells me " Darling, I have a court appearance to attend to and I'll return in a half hour".

Now I am left in an office with Ms. Spiveys secretary who want's to talk about the City life of New York and wages for her position.
I am without a Deed, without and checks, and a half hour from having to leave to catch my flight.

Oh my god. What have I done. At this time, Tammy sends me a text, I reply, " Get the bail money ready".

I google Ozark Police Department for maybe I better get an incident report filed for not getting my funds..

Up pops a photo of Sheriff Andy Taylor, but he's using the name of Tony Spivey.

Tony Spivey, I recognize this name.

Yep. Tony Spivey is the husband Attorney Spivey. Attorney Spivey is also the prosecuting Attorney for Ozark.

I think I'm in trouble.

Attorney Spivey returns to her office when I with a joke state " I almost thought perhaps I should file an incident report with the police. Sheriff Spivey is it "

" Yes, 25 years now"

Ms. Spivey returns to her office and back to the conference room with two certified checks for all the money needed.

" Sorry for the delay, Y'all better get going if you wanna make your flight"

As I leave Mayberry, I swear I could hear the theme of whistleing as I drove past a man and child going fishing.

My Trial today is defending an mother who abducted her daughter from the father in Alabama and fled to New York where she was apprehended. My Jury is seated, and we open tomorrow.

True Story. I am still recovering.

MY kids to I hope My dad like myself loved Salt. When he was in the hospital many many times he would call me to bring him some. And me being a Salt a holic knows how that is. He was dieing let him enjoy his food at least. Thats what I told my Mom when she found out I would bring it to him. He gave up everything else let him enjoy what he has left. It wasn't going to change the out come the hospital just has to do that to cover their buts.
