Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

No, I gave that to my son who in turn gave to his sister. Probably in Pawnshop by now. I didn't know how to work one.hug And thank you all so much again and to Jules a special thanks for the Poem, I'm gona see if my brothers will put that in the memorial card. usually it is a prayer. But that is better in my thoughts.
On the back of my mother's prayer card, we put:

Two tired eyes are sleeping,
Two tired hands are still.
The one we love so deeply
Is resting at God's will.
May she always walk in sunshine,
God's love around her glow,
For all the joy she gave us,
No on will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose her,
But she did not go alone,
For part of us went with her,
The day God called her home.

Before my mother died, I asked her if that would be okay to use instead of a prayer. She really liked it, so that's what we put. I adapted it from another poem I found and it definitely fit how we felt about her.

I can't remember the name but they would make like a baklava type flaky dough and roll it out then fill it with poppy seed or nuts/raisins then roll, bake then slice. Very good.
also would make soda bread and Yiddish bread was so good. Then of course potato pancakes called Latka's

When my dad got his cancer he was told he had a year, near the end I found out I had cancer, as sick as he was he held on, once I had my surgery and felt confident, they had it all I told dad I was going to be o.k. He let me know at that point all was o.k. with him also.. I put him in a hospice and he died within days....I miss my daddy......
Hug2 That's so touching. Your dad held on for you, and you let him know it was okay to let go once you knew you were going to be fine. I, for one, am glad that you're okay & here with us.

And the baklave would have honey in it also. I bought some last year from 1 of internet sites, It wa so sweet and so good and sooo sticky, I could only eat 2 pieces in a week and gave it to someone who worked in a resthome. to give to the elderly

My bro sent me an email a few hours ago of Dad. That is the way I want to remember him. It was only taken a few days ago. I would love ya's all to see it if someone will PM me that knows how to share it. I think we will all have a good laugh. That's what he was about.
I think you can upload videos on Photobucket - I have an account there if you want to forward it to me in an email. There's also the ever popular You-Tube.

Well he doesn't want you to cry anyway and I am sure he was so glad he got to hear your voice before he was called away. He lived a full life and raised his family then had time to say goodbye so he got to prepare himself. The funeral is the hardest part because that is the small part of him left behind you are dealing with. He is already gone to his party in the sky. That's why I like the Catholic after the funeral meal because then everyone gets to sit around and tell their funny stories. When grandma passed, grandpa took us all to a restaurant then back to his house. My sisters, mother and I had so many stories but it was sad to see my cousins had very little as they didn't take the time to spend with my grandparents as they became adults and started their lives. Their loss as they just sat there listing to ours. Good wine helps too!!! It gets better. Though I still tear up each time I talk out loud about my grandma, I still smile every time.
