Who was the dental expert here??

hypothetically speaking... If you had a filling, oh... say 2 weeks ago... and realize that you've been taking ibuprophen/tylenol around every 4-6 hours since then... and now assume that means if you go back they'll say "root canal"... what happens if you don't go back? Will it eventually quit hurting?

My poor Mavis has been taking mini naps for the past hour - 5-10 minutes at a time. She's getting a cold, I think. Frown My toddler has a sinus infection, and I think I have one starting too. Bah! I am soooo needing to get back to vitamins and such.

How did everyone's day turn out? I was going to go back shopping, but I just couldn't do it. Not enough energy in my body...

Does it HURT hurt or just hurt? I've had fillings that were sensitive for a few weeks. An abscess you will know. nod I think you would have been in the dentist's office within days if it hurt that much. I went to the ER with abscess pain.

And yes an abscess can eventually stop hurting once the nerve(s) completely die but who is to say how long that will take. hug And yeah same kind of day here. I went to the commissary this morning, was planning a Target trip as well but just couldn't get the energy and motivation going.

Well... it hurt hurts enough that I'm medicating. My teeth feel like they are trying to push their way out of my jaw and I don't want to open my mouth til the pain meds kick in. It's bad if I drink anything slightly cold or colder, not quite so bad when drinking tepid or hot stuff. It also gets bad if I chew or lay on that side. If I don't, then the pain won't get too bad for a good 6 hours - but if I aggravate it, it's pretty awful.

Funny how the day dawns bright and you feel like you'll get everything done - but in the end... pfft. Dontknow Seems to fly by and I am tired for half of it. Secret (which reminds me that I need to reschedule that doctor's appointment and get checked out... don't tell bunnies that i haven't done it yet...)

Could it be the sinus issue causing issues as well? Or maybe the tooth has cracked after the filling? I'm by no means a dental expert, just the recipient of lots of dental work. And I'm going to tell. Evillaugh

I know... I'm awful. I agree on the slumber parties. We have a place near by that has chocolate slumber parties. They even let the partiers raid a candy store in the middle of the night (though they limit the amount of candy they can take - which makes it seem less like a real raid...)

It may quit hurting. It depends on why it is hurting. If the nerve dies, it quits hurting. You might be at the age where your teeth get super sensitive. But it seems like that is around in the 30's. Cold, sugar, air, anything can make your teeth start hurting. It is just a phase - but it lasts quite awhile...
