I would like to make some ooey gooey home made giant puffy cinnamon caramel yeast rolls. Possible with pecans. Never made them before and I need a recipe. Hubby's grandmother used to make (she was a restaurant cook) and he was talking about them a while back. Sooo, I offered to give it a shot. (She's dead and I don't have her recipe.) All the cooking, baking, and canning I have done over the years, I have never made these. (I'm pretty sure Pillsbury in a whack 'em can don't count)

Anybody got a good recipe? If it's an overnight recipe that I can raise once, then roll, cut, assemble and stick in the fridge overnight. Then raise for an hour or so in the morning and bake. That would be even better.

I even bought some spiffy new packages of yeast of a bag of pecans so I am ready to go.

the question is, do you plan on eating more than one?

maybe make a baby one for yourself so you can see if you need to tweak the recipe to your liking since you've never made them b4.

however...if you eat more than one, me, l2b, tm4d and kallison are gonna come whup your a**!

You weren't supposed to read that. I certainly don't intend to eat one. (And I'm not gonna tell you how many I do intend to eat)

Looks to me like most recipes are all pretty much the same. And since many of them say raise, roll, refrigerate, set out for an hour, bake, I'm just gonna figure I can do that with most any recipe. I planned on making them tomorrow for Saturday morning. But I just remembered there is an auction Sat. that DH wants to go to. Instead of being a noon start, wouldn't you know it, it starts at 10. And ya gotta get there an hour or so before to look around.

That reminds me. I finally did find the way to search items sold by Amazon. Turns out, that everything I was actually searching for just didn't have that option. I searched for some random stuff that I don't want and there it was. Geez, I figured I'd order some ink, get enough to get $25 super saver shipping minus my $10 code and have enough ink for.... oh, a few years. No Amazon ink, no Amazon batteries. What the heck am I gonna use it on???

GT, those look AMAZING! I love making cinnamon rolls and sticky buns - made some when my inlaws were here in Feb, and they got rave reviews. My recipe is a family recipe, from my Finnish grandmother. LMK if you want it. It makes a very soft dough, and the rolls are much smaller than the picture you posted. My stomach is growling, by the way, so thanks for that... Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

My freezer is so jam-packed, its ridiculous. I really need to get a chest freezer. I looked on CL and saw some but just can't pull the trigger for some reason.

We have decided to go to the zoo tomorrow. I am really excited. Have to pack a picnic lunch. I'm thinking about making lemon bars for a treat.

OK, off to finish straightening up the house and finalizing dinner plans. I have a meeting tonight, so it'll probably be something easy from the freezer for hubby to fix.

Oh, and y'all are just raising all kinds of ruckus in the WM thread!! Big Grin
