I didn't want to load and unload, check in and check out every day so we got a room in Rapid City and stayed there all week. By staying there the rooms were less expensive than some of the other areas and were we an hour at the furthest from all the little towns and things we wanted to do. Each day we went to a different area. Mt. Rushmore twice -- during the day and the hiking trail and at night for the night lighting ceremony. 1880's train ride, horse back riding, mine tour, cave, Monmouth Site, natural hot spring, Custer State park more than once, chuck wagon dinner show - lots of fun, tour of Black Hills Gold jewelry factory - even the kids liked it. There was more but that's what I remember off the top of my head. Little trip to Devil's Tower Wyoming -- remember the weird rock thingy in Close Encounters?

Grand Canyon and Hoover damn would be another trip.

I thinnnkkkk, I'm gonna go out in the kitchen and do something you don't want to know about.
Just as an aside, we took a trip out there a couple of years ago. We stayed in a cabin that was about 15-20 minutes from Mt. Rushmore, and only paid $65 a night. It was great since it was super secluded, mountains and deer right off the deck. It had a little kitchen, a bedroom, and bunk beds in the living room, so we were able to be out all day and cook our own food at night to save money. It was gorgeous out there...can't wait to go back!

Guess I had hopes that "coupon expired" wouldn't pop up 2nd or 3rd time. laugh out loud Cashier couldn't believe it was already ringing up expired. Even commented that they used to go longer than the expiration date. Yeah, I know. Mad

Let's see. Mount Rushmore (the big rock) is 5 hours North of me. Grand Canyon (the big hole) is 6+ hours South West of me. Hoover Dam is too far West of me. Maybe you should come visit, and use my house as home base! I am only 45 minutes from Rocky Mountain Nat'l park, and the hotel that inspired Stephen King to write The Shining!
Is that an open invite?? laugh out loud

Walmart just updated their coupon policy [walmartstores.com], looks like they no longer take RRs, only cats for specific items. They also changed the wording on the overage, but that is still in our favor. That didn't take them long!

I planned on making chili for dinner tonight, but ank had to mention chinese food! I will probably still make my chili since we went out a few times this week already. But now I'm thinking of chili and cheesecake! And that loose meat sounded good too. I've never heard of it being made in a crockpot, well maybe on the old Roseanne show! I fry mine up and we love it, but it's not a dish I tell most about, it sounds gross!

[QUOTE=Nikayla;38125121]I forgot to ask last time she was mentioned, how old she is now? It seems like you just had her.

Oh yeah I got these today, already love them. DS always squeezs to hard when he is trying to get the straw in and juice squirts everywhere. He does A LOT better with these. Capri sun and juice boxes fit perfect.

I know, right? It's amazing to me but she is 4 months old today Frown

I always wondered if those things would work or not - that's good to know, we lovfe juice boxes around here Wink

Yup, I knew it wasn't Lisa so I couldn't figure how they were making babies down the hall from her unless she worked at a fertility clinic laugh out loud Otherwise, she has a very shifty workplace.

Cool, I thought it was probably a good price. We aren't in the market for one (we're thinking of getting a sleep number bed (and perhaps moving up to a king sized bed) after we move), but I always like it when people bring good deals into TCC - you never know what people are ISO. Smilie
I agree - I never leave the lounge so I wouldn't know a deal unless one of my girls brings it in. That includes a Target one laugh out loud

Chihuahua doesn't need diapers. But my code isn't one of the baby codes so I can use it one anything sold by Amazon not just baby dept. I ordered a magazine subscription through there and got it. I'm gonna check on an Itty Bitty Book Light -- mine has a short in it and if that doesn't pan out, I think I will let DD use it. She wants to order a Gilmore Girls DVD. I got her Seasons 1 & 2 from Target. Damn them for not having more seasons at that price.
Oh, I didn't realize you didn't have to use it in the baby dept - and I remember you saying you were looking for GG dvds, have you checked the interwebz for a *cough cough* download?

What was the name of the cabins? We have thought about a trip out there and that sounds right up our alley.

Whoa. I started reading on this thread where I left off and I think there were like 8 pages to go EEK! I didn't finish reading them all. We had the flu here yesterday and all I did was try to rest in between changing diapers and feeding the children who were well enough to eat.

So I just put the signs out for our GS tomorrow. I really have high hopes for it, but who knows? I have a ridiculous amount of cleaning stuff...way more than I've ever had. Hopefully they are popular sellers here like in Michigan.
Good luck on your garage sale! I should have one again, it's been a couple years and we really REALLY need to go through stuff around here. I have several baby girl items from T that I figured I'd gift, but the only ppl I know having babies are having boys. Although if I hold onto it long enough someone will have a girl again, right?

(which means i must go figure out what to buy at target)
I really want to go get some $.33 scissors at Target! Wednesday I looked but couldn't find any, even though the locators showed them available. I'm wondering if it's one of those 'new' item price mistakes? ???

Right now I'm trying to get my shopping list together for doubles at our grocer tomorrow - looks like a great week for it too bounce

i am now the proud owner of 5 prs of almost free target jeans, no jeggings. 2 pr are exactly the same so i may return one, but for 1.24 i'm thinking i could leave them at sil's second home. she has suggested we leave some clothes there which could be a good idea in case we ever end up staying longer than planned or whatever. can't borrow nephew's clothing b/c he never brings enough clothes for himself. complained some of his tees were too big. teenagers! last time had to run to target and show him how to get c9 q's for himself so his mom would buy him some clothing he would wear laugh out loud!
I think I picked up 5 jeans as well, kept 2 and gave my sisters a couple pairs. Love the timing of that TQ Wink

Sure! We have plenty of room, as the former owners added on a master suite, so now we have 2, and until the trees start to bud out, the guest suite has a view of the mountains!Just give me another week to finish the guest bathroom. Had my DS15 tiling the counter and grouting. Asked last night what else we can work on! Just need to install sink, stain and cut trim, touch up the paint, find a mirror and med cabinet. Gosh, doesn't seem like it's almost done! Oh, and install the toilet!!!

How odd, monkey toddler is allergic to amoxicillin also. Found out when I was taking amox for a sinus infection and he was about 6 weeks old. He has taken cephalosporin meds with no problem.
Two of my nephews are also allergic to cillins so I wonder how often that runs in families.

Thanks for the link. Does anyone know what the "Soft drink container caps" refer to? and what's a "Print-at-home Internet coupons that require no purchase"? a free item coupon?

Sometimes there will be promos and you can win a free drink, the cap is the actual coupon that you redeem. And yes, they won't accept a FREE item coupon that you have printed at home. I wonder how long before individual stores know the new policy? You can probably still use your RRs if you've done so already, for a while! laugh out loud

Apparently there is a genetic component to the drug allergy - which makes me wonder WHY they would prescribe it if older sis is allergic.

We love it out that way too. Ya know, I don't think a cabin even crossed my mind back then. I don't know if it just didn't occur to me or if I thought it would be too expensive. We did go the last week May before Labor Day though, so a lot of times things don't open til then. Now we get a cabin to fish each summer.

We took a cooler and had breakfast and lunch in the van. None of us -- even the kids -- were breakfast eaters to I had Pop-Tarts, granola bars, things like that. Then sandwich stuff, drinks, etc. in the cooler. Then we would eat one nice meal at a restaurant each day. Some days the meal was one of our activities like the Chuck Wagon dinner show and the all you can eat pancakes ($1.99 back then, came with sausage and juice) at the Dances with Wolves movie set.
