Walmart just updated their coupon policy [walmartstores.com], looks like they no longer take RRs, only cats for specific items. They also changed the wording on the overage, but that is still in our favor. That didn't take them long!
It took a couple of weeks, but I certainly expected it.

Scratchchin If it took them 2 weeks to be educated about the first policy, how long will it be before they are knowledgable about the second policy? IF I was shopping at walmart, I'd still be having the old policy copy with me Big Grin

I hope HDD isn't in the WM trenches when this change hits, as it now does NOT include catalinas and On Your Next Orders (OYNOs) and Register Rewards (RRs), as they aren't for a specific item with a price.

Bring it on. I have regular and dark roast -- by the pot --but if you want that fancy one cup at a time stuff, you'll have to bring it.

Now, I've gotta figure out what I'm going with this stupid pork lion. Probably cooking it like I always do.. in the pressure cooker til it's falling apart tender. Can't find a seasoning or glaze that will do. Neither of us like sweet stuff on meat and we both hate sage. I swear, every recipe I find is sweet or loaded with sage and garlic.

Cook it with kraut and make sauer kraut & pork over mashed taters?? Or slice it and make breaded boneless chops? Or cut it in half lengthwise, pound it thin, fill with cream cheese, spinach, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, and maybe some mozzarella or other cheese, roll up and secure with toothpicks - bake, slice and enjoy?

Dough has risen, been punched down, divided and is now resting. I decided to try this recipe -- kind of:

Ingredients
  • 1 pound pork roast, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 (32 ounce) jar sauerkraut with juice
  • 1/2 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
  • 1/2 apple, peeled and cored
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
No apple, I don't have one. Don't have any fresh dill so I used a little juice out of the dill pickles and used onion powder + a little salt instead of onion salt, and prepared mustard instead of dry (1 tbs instead of 1 tsp).

Now I am being forced to drink the other half of the beer (Nordeast Grain Belt Beer from Schell's Brewery). I don't particularly like beer. Hubby occasionally likes to try different dark blend small brewery beer and a 6 pack lasts, ohhhhh, a year or more, unless we have company. So we did, at least have a beer out there. I've got in the pressure cooker right now. Gonna get it pretty much done and tender and then shove it in the oven on low to keep until we want to eat. We shall see. If we hate it, there will be the rolls...

We were posting at the same time. And I am making mashed potatoes. I was going to make Idahoan Loaded Baked (Oh, man those are good) but I think plain will be better with the sauerkraut.

Wow! That was FAST. I wonder why they decided not to take them. They will get reimbursed for them. The commissary has been accepting them for about a year.

It has been a PIA trying to use them anyway. I hate hour long checkouts...

It sounds like corporate doesn't know what they are doing any more than the store managers do.

Sam would have taken them. More $$$ for Walmart.

Rolls are rolled, sprinkled, cut, and in the pan raising again. Those are 9 x 13 ish cake pans. One is a little bigger than that.

Oh, and sauerkraut, beer, and raw pork don't smell all that good while cooking.

Probably a freak out reaction - unless manufacturers have said they won't reimburse. I suspect they didn't expect the redemption rate they saw and/or they were inundated with complaints because not all mgrs/stores understood the new policy. Dontknow

I don't think the manufacturers would say they won't reimburse. I doubt the commissary would keep taking them since last year if they didn't get reimbursed.

Kind of odd they would change it when people were showing up in mass with $$$ to spend at their store... many of them people who had given up on Walmart long ago...

Of course, when they get reimbursed for those qs - they might change the policy again, who knows.

I wouldn't think so either, but who knows... And yeah, I was figuring that maybe they got so many in and started to worry that maybe they'd get refused, so they are going to submit, wait and see. If/when they get reimbursed then we may see a change to accepting them again. *shrug*
