i just found this one 50% for 64.50 off at target today and don't know if i should keep it.
The first Hoover you posted -- I cannot tell from the picture, does it have a beater bar like a vacuum? Or are those bristles just attached to the front and don't move? If they don't move and it's not a beater bar, I would return it and get a different one.

Kinda funny, I just mentioned steam cleaners last night -- I have the Hoover and Bissell both. My preference is the Bissell but the Hoover is fine if it's a better deal. If you want more comparison between the two, let me know.

I promise, I won't mention them again.

We went to an auction today and I bought a box of recipes. It's quite literally an old beat up cheap recipe box that is falling apart. But it's stuffed to the point it bulging with hand written recipes that are pretty old.

Meth is evil. Alot of suburban housewives call it Mommys little helper. You would be surprised who has tried meth to help with weightloss, housework, stamina for 2nd jobs, etc. It knows no boundaries. Can you possibly reason with her to give you custody of the baby for a while? I hate to say it but she is probably very well meaning and WANTS to be a good mother, but meth will hook her back in over time. It takes a strong person to get out of its grasp. I do wish you all the very best of luck. hug Please keep us posted.

The codes are really simple to use. Sign up for Amazon Mom here [amazon.com]. That gives you free shipping. Just add the item to your cart and add the code in the designated box during checkout, I'm going to post a few things you can get for free/cheap with the $10 codes..be right back.

The baby will most likely come home with a small amount of diapers and individual serving glass formula bottles and nipples

Luvable Friends Large Patch Hooded Towels, 2 Pack [amazon.com] (they have blue or pink)

Johnson's Head-to-toe Baby Wash, 9-Ounce (Pack of 6) [amazon.com] This is a 6 pack and will be 2.85

Here a carseat if you still desperately need one. Do you know the gender yet? This will be $29 after your $10 code. Not top of the line or anything, but its better than none at all, thats for sure. They have plenty of nice infant car seats but they are slightly more expensive.
Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat [amazon.com]

I would suggest using your other code on one of these if you get a convertible car seat.
Sunshine Kids Head Support For Strollers and Car Seats [amazon.com]

Just Born 4-Pack Flannel Receiving Blankets
[amazon.com]

Gerber 5-Pack Onesies Brand One Piece Underwear
[amazon.com]

M2C posted some good things a little while back too

Johnson's Baby Natural Head-to-toe Wash, 9-ounce (Pack of 3) [amazon.com]
Yeah, I have probably tried just about everything once (long time ago, far far away), just did not like this stuff - thank goodness! Just knowing what it has done with her older sister (who has 4 children with 4 dif baby daddies, 2 baby daddies have grown up, 2 have not). Have to watch out for her, she's always asking for money. thank goodness I have my stockpile, I give her stuff and will take her shopping, then cut off all the tags so she can't return it. This one caught me by surprise, and I am not sure if she got early prenatal care or when she quit using. Had a sono last week, baby girl turned down already, 5 lbs. due april 8, but could go at anytime, even pregnant i doubt she weighs over 120. I hope she can do it, but we will be there for the innocent child if she can't. That's the worst about meth, the babies. Went ot the consignment shops that I use (live rural, no garage sale) I was able to pick up a bunch of baby clothes with my credit. She is staying with her mom now, but that never lasts long. I am ready to pounce if I think the child is in danger, but for now jsut support her and not scare her away.

Oh damn, what a good idea! I have been using towels under my space saver high chair for the same reason as you (padded fabric chairs) but the towels always fall off. Do you have one you can recommend that stays in place pretty good?

I honestly have no idea which ones I have. I tried looking for the tags, but they've all been cut off. Son has certain "issues" with things at times and what I have to do with one kid I have to do for the other. The ones that I have do sort of have a rubber backing, and they stay in place pretty well.

Okay, I have no idea what it's called, but it comes in a roll and is kind of spongy and netty looking (for lack of a better description) and is often used under carpets to keep them from sliding. Maybe something like that would help.

I know they have some shelf liner material that does just that. Something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Duck-110073...401&sr=8-2

You can cut it to size, and most "off" brands aren't expensive.

We went to an auction today and I bought a box of recipes. It's quite literally an old beat up cheap recipe box that is falling apart. But it's stuffed to the point it bulging with hand written recipes that are pretty old.
Back when I was selling on ebay, I discovered old boxes of recipes, esp handwritten ones, could go for big money. We're talking over $100. I managed to get my hands on one or two boxes, but my sister wanted them, as she loves to cook and bake. They are very fun to go through, that's for sure. nod

I have had 2 wonderful days in a row. Went to the zoo yesterday, and all the animals were active and playing, which makes it so much more fun for the kids. My sisters kept the kids last night, so hubby and I got to go on a couples date with 2 other couples from church. We went to a Japanese steakhouse, and the chef there was the best I've seen. And the fried rice was to die for.

This morning, we decided to throw an impromptu yard sale. I pulled the bins out to the driveway, took the lids off, and hung up signs. We determined ahead of time we would only set up for 2 hrs, 9-11, and close up shop as soon as the last person left. In that 2-hr span, we made $206. bounce I was so excited. My sister's 40th b-day is next week and there will be so much going on all week long, and that will help me be able to participate in at least some of it.

Went to a used bookstore and found some treasures.

Kids are all in bed and time to catch up on drugstore deals for next week and grocery store deals.

I think I'm gonna finally make my 3 little orders on amazon, as well. Thanks, 4BB, for your post with the link and the explanation of what to do. I've got my acct now and ready to order. Big Grin

So um, if I made cheesecake bars yesterday, and they haven't been refrigerated, are they still good?

thanks so much! exactly the advice i needed! i think it's going back.

i went back to target today to return the 75% off blender i got yesterday after i saw the goddawful reviews. i tried to take a closer look at the display model of the rug cleaner but it was tied down real tight to the bar running behind it and i couldn't really even tilt it up to look underneath. they also had one more left that's not marked so nobody knows it's on clearance. (don't understand why they put one on the clearance endcap and not the other Confused esp since there was plenty of room. well, that's how i get all the great deals at that store so i shouldn't complain.) we are going to have dinner w/ dh's parents tomorrow so i will be sure to take a very good look and then return if the brushes are fixed. the hoover website is not really helpful at all.

fyi- the platinum rug shampoo was 75% off. i think i will return it since it's silly to have solution w/o the machine and the machine usually comes w/ a small bottle to start. hmmm, should check to see if my mom wants it. she has a rug shampooer you hook up to the faucet. the wood floor cleaner for the hoover floormate was also 75% off.

i emailed my sil last nite to see if she wanted the oster buffet server. went back today and all 5 that were there yesterday afternoon were gone!

there were at least 5 compressors yesterday at 50% off, today they were 19.98 at 75% off and 3 of the 5-6 were gone. i was so lucky there was still one left. whew! the last one doesn't count. the box was so beat up... i also picked up the 12volt (plug into the car) home inflator for 4.98 at 75% off. there were a whole bunch of them untouched. don't know if the compressor is just more popular or people don't know it's on clearance since most of them aren't stickered. i know the compressor is really overkill for me. but the one i really want that can plug into the outlet or the car is 49.99 and the compressor is only 19.98. also, if i put in irrigation for the lawn, i could blow it out myself every yr. that would totally make it worth it.

i will put dpci's etc in deals later if anybody is interested in anything.

If your carpet is fairly new and/or in decent condition you are far, far better off NOT using that stuff. That shampoo/cleaner/detergent or what ever name they stick on it doesn't come all the way out. It just doesn't. I don't care how long or how well you rinse, some of it is staying behind. That then leaves a little film on the carpet and dirt stick to it even better than before. Ever notice how when you have new carpet it stays nice for a loooong time but after you clean it the first time it gets dirtier sooner and has to be done sooner? That's why.

There isn't much that won't come out of most carpet with the just the hot water. Especially, if you take care of spills and messes and don't leave them there forever. For the rare stain that won't, just use a little stain remover, Biz, Oxyclean, etc. and use it sparingly and rinse and rinse and rinse and...

I have never needed cleanser to remove anything on my kitchen carpet -- including the whole new bottle of grape juice and the Mrs. Butterworth. There was something recently on my really light living room carpet that I needed just a bit of Biz to get out.... oh, yeah, a whole cup of hot tea (black tea) went splat.

Even if your carpet isn't new and has had soap used on it in the past, you can quit using it. Try it and look at your first bucket of dirty water. Betcha there's soap in it.

Well, you know her stuff is Licklips as the white chocolate cheesecake you've made of mine is from Karla.

Sure, your house isn't THAT hot inside. Just throw them in the frig.

I've been printing for 2+ hours. I don't normally do HT (triples or Super Doubles), but oldest nephew's graduation is next Saturday so I have to be in Nashville anyway. Most are for the SIL, but I may sneak a few out that she doesn't know about. Why is it that I prefer printing Qs over wading thru inserts?

_Gator_ that's some Cold stuff. I can't imagine how you felt when one of your DS's had this.

Do you have the card (GC or CC) that you used? I don't know how FL issues renewal IDs so IDK if it would be the same # or not. I've heard you can use a passport...but I don't have one so it is just hearsay. GL!!

Amazon price shows around $20..http://www.amazon.com/Crayola-Glo...B004EBLZGE

M2C - I saw them at SS and SJ store..

LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVEEEEEE them!!!!! Soooo cute. What lens did you shoot those with? Hoping the weather cooperates so I can get out with the camera soon. Although everything is still brown and dead here outside so I suppose I will hafta get creative laugh out loud

Quote from ank220 :
Awwwwwwww.... they are sooo adorable. I love how blue your son's eyes turned out. They really pop in the pic.

She's doing pretty good. Been taking benadryl and all that fun stuff. Unfortunately, it does not have the effect I was hoping for. I think she's actually more wired on benadryl than without it. Blah.

HDDVD - yay for the $10 q!! That's awesome.

I've been told that the allergy can creep up later on you and that there is a genetic component to it - so others in your family could show an allergy to it also.
nod So true on the allergies....and the 'cillins' def. run in families. My bro, mom, and I all have 'em.

Did you try dye-free benadryl by chance? Sometimes it is the red dye that does the hyping up and not the meds themselves, but I have heard of ppl with similar experiences. That stuff knocks me out COLD! When my dd was going through the reactions because of the blueberries when she was first diagnosed they put her on Zyrtec daily for a couple wks. along with Benadryl as needed and that seemed to finally do the trick to get rid of it.

If I find here flugette, I'll share. nod And thanks jteef!

I took my daughters to the free basic first aid/ CPR class at the Red Cross today. They loved it, maybe it makes them feel grown up? A few other people there commented that maybe they should have brought their teens. Why did they not think of it before today?
