Who much was the tool box breif case, and could you carry it by the handle? meaning, the coupons didnt move when they went sideways? I think I would like something like that, but with the handle on top like a makeup box.
The toolbox briefcase was $20. A regular black briefcase might be a little less conspicuous than shiny silver and you might be able to find one at a used place. The toolbox is just a little deeper than most brief cases though.

Yes, I was able to carry it by the handle. Sometimes things would slide around a little if it wasn't very full but for the most part, things stayed pretty well in place. More like a 5 second readjustment rather than an "Oh, shoot, gotta redo it all". I still had a tendency to prop it on it's side on my hip and loop my arm over it to carry it flat.

The plastic box I have now has the handle on top and I never carry it by the handle. The lid clamps on from the top and I'm afraid it will let go. So, it gets tucked under my arm too. I could pick up a small, flat bungy cord. It is much smaller so it fits down in the baby seat rather than across it. Funny thing is, I put my purse in the seat and set the box on top of it to get it up higher and easier to access.

Target coupons used to just have their own index card section but since there are so many of them now and my box is smaller I use the accordion envelope. Yes, I fold them but last trip there were so damn many that I grabbed a bigger accordion file and didn't have to and it still lays in the top of the box. Most mfr. coupons will fit in the rows, but there are some I do have to fold. I try to fold the end over so that I can still see the name and amount. With the briefcase there would be enough room for Target to have it's own section and even divide it into Target subsections.

You may be able to file the long way in a box if you don't get too many coupons each week; otherwise, you will need to go sideways and have two rows. That is kind of the other deciding factor -- how many inserts do you get. The reason I decided to try a smaller box is that I was getting fewer inserts each week. Off hand, I would say if you are getting 5 - 10 inserts per week, you can make do with the box. More than that, go bigger -- or at least a bigger box.

I tried a lot of different little suitcases and boxes and the briefcase was the best fit. I tried little over night suitcases and the old top handle makeup cases too.

If you want to test the system without any buying anything, you might try to find a boot box or really large shoe box. You do drugstores too. That might contribute to you needing a little more space. That's the other nice thing about the briefcase, all those cards will probably stick in the back thingy.

I don't really care about being inconspicuous. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not walking around in a clown wig or anything but coupon box doesn't make me self conscious. Actually, I think it's a little less suspicious than surreptitiously rooting through the purse now and then. I do often get asked if I work there, though. More so with the briefcase, but nearly as much with the box. So, thinking about it, I guess really, since customers just think I am working, it's not all that odd. And locally, it's such a small area that the two stores we have know me as the coupon lady anyway.

There are some days where homechooling my teenager is a blessing in disguise. Bradley's not thrilled about it though shake head
When my son was little, maybe 2nd or 3rd, grade, he thought it would be great fun to go to school. I told him we would practice it a home for a while and then talk about it. But just in case he needed to get in the routine. So, I got his little butt out of bed early in the morning, made him get dressed, eat, etc. and be ready to go out the door in time for the school bus.

Then we started school at the "right" time. But instead of him getting to pick which subject to do first. etc., we had to do them in order and we had to do each subject for the 1 hour class period -- even when he was done way before. You should have seen his face when I told him it was time to go stand in line to use the bathroom. LMAO When he wasn't done and wasn't free to go by lunch time he was not a happy little feller. Then after school was out and the other kids were home I called my neighbor/friend and asked her how much homework her kid that was his age had. Then he had to sit down and do about the same amount of homework. That reaction was even better than the bathroom one!

Treasure has some nice videos. She combines sales and coupons to get fruits, veggies and meats.

I liked another comment by Jessica. I think she's the one that has her own garden and "farm".

Playing the waiting game now. Doc wants me to take/record my bp at least 5 times in the next 2 weeks. Drew blood for some tests and I'll get results when I go back. Will probably start allergy shots since I'm highly allergic to 2 of the most prominent grasses in the area (which explains why my allergies got so horrible when I got down here).

Teehee I think partly because ALL of those blogger folks who are going to be on the show are 'competing' basically on TLC's FB page, trying to get people to come and follow THEIR pages/blogs....really rather annoying.
I haven't looked but don't most of them also have advertising on their websites/blogs? More traffic, more clicks, more money.

Wave morning. I haven't gotten my butt to work yet this morning. I've been working in the printable thread.

My plan of dropping my SUV off at my SILs has come to a halt for the weekend. Kid's OTHER Aunt was also going to graduation for Nephew and she only lives 10 miles from me, but now the entire family is coming (and I've only seen them all once and that was a wedding). They don't come to visit for birthdays or Thanksgiving, or Christmas, but they all show up for a graduation. Oh well, I guess the SIL and Big Bro can come get it if they want it.

I can't physically drive two vehicles at one time 2+ hours, drop one off and drive one back home.

Things that irritate me:

Could/couldn't care less -- Saying could care less when what is meant is couldn't care less. This was actually incorrectly stated in a book I was reading last night.

Sale/Sell -- Sale is a noun. It is an event. I am having a yard sale. I will buy a new book this week because they are on sale.

Sell is a verb -- At my yard sale I will sell toothpaste. The book store will sell me a book.

Thank you. Rant over... for the moment.

We had the engine rebuilt in my van 10 months ago for around $3000. Was driving a couple of weeks ago and the engine started knocking again. The local mechanic's shop (that did the work the first time) said it had to be rebuilt AGAIN. Frown Luckily, most of the parts were still under warranty, but don't know how much he's going to charge for labor yet. He brought it back last night, and I took it to get DD's prom dress (about a 5 hour round trip). We got about 45 minutes from home and the front brakes started grinding. WTF? I feel like I'm rebuilding this van one piece at a time! Plan is to get the brakes done and trade it in before I end up spending a million dollars on it.

by HAPPYFAMILY on Tuesday, 22 March 2011 at 17:07

The free trial coupons that we sent out as a gift to people who took the GH pledge during a certain period of time, and were for 1 time use only, are being misused. Aside from the financial liability for a small company, stores become suspicious & are beginning to refuse to accept the coupons which ruins it for everyone. We would love to run this promotion again in the future but we will not financially be able to if this continues. We ask for your support, and to be respectful and responsible, and keep this gift for your own personal use for 1 time.

Again, we THANK YOU and deeply appreciate all your support and love for our products!

morning! Wave

more snow on grassy surfaces and roofs this morn Roll Eyes (Sarcastic).

have to go to the supermarket today to use up this wks dollar days cats. i hate when they do cat promos and then the sales are horrible during redemption time. treasure shops at the same chain i do. it's very possible she uses cats for produce and meat. i should go over there and take a look.....

ok i just watched the $1.04 video. i recognize the vigo yellow rice (fac-doubled this wk, gonna buy it myself) nescafe (i think it's a cheap ac/hidden mm cat deal this wk. didn't pay attention, don't drink it, don't have enough q's to do the deal.).

i myself have 18.00 in dollar days cats plus another 6.00 in cats or oynos to redeem. the first wk there were 10+ offers, if you did all of them, you would have ended up w/ over $30 in oynos. the second wk there were around 10 offers, little bit less than the first wk. you could have ended up w/ another $20-30 in oynos. i did the ziploc deal that wk b/c it was an mm ac. the 2 wks of cats would have gotten all the free meat and veggies, however, like i said, the prices are not good on meats and produce, so some people are redeeming them on electronics.

except for cats, oynos and the occasional q to buy a product get x.xx off produce, there are no coupon discounts on fruits and veggies at our supermarket. and it's very difficult to get enough cats to buy more than a few dollars worth each wk and most wks there aren't any cats.

most of the time the cat deals themselves are not all that great and they don't run them that often. there is a p&g cat deal going on this wk and it's not good unless you really want those things and can't wait for a good sale. they only run the dollar days cat deals a few times each yr where there are lots of deals, lots of cats to be had and lots of q's to make them a good deal. i think the last one was during xmas but that was a bad one b/c one cat deal had to be redeemed on batteries and toys. i'm not the only one who decided not to participate. lots of people had problems redeeming the cats later.

meat is almost the same problem. there may be q's for prepped meats like bacon (notice all the turkey bacon she bought, ground turkey (yup, another meat item you could have q's for), prepped perdue like perfect portions, grilled or nuggets, and those buy a product get x.xx off meat. otherwise no discount on meat except sale price.

my point is that even treasure is somewhat misleading. you cannot go every wk to shoprite and get free meat, fruit and veggies. it just so happens that we are in the midst of 4 wks of dollar day cats redemptions and she got lucky and filmed her tlc segment during that time. it only happens a few times a year, maybe 3-4. the other 8 months of the yr you can get a few free things every wk, limit 4 like q's, but nothing spectacular like you see those other extreme qponers. that's why their trans never go above 2xx.xx. we are limited to 4 like q's per trans. and if they really want to be a stickler, the rules say per day and they can check your price plus card to see what you did.

wave it's raining here again, so I'm stuck home surfing the web and found this article T vs WM [yahoo.com] pricing. I'd flip if my total was $270, guess I'm hooked on only buying sale/coupon items. Anyway its a somewhat interesting read.

Wow! That is so cool! What's his entree/appetizer going to be?
His appetizer was a teriyaki duck hand roll (rice paper, not seaweed) with a spicy orange-mango marmalade and for his entree they wanted it to be Italian inspired so he did a homemade sachete pasta (basically the shape of a sachet) with lobster. Topped with crispy pancetta and a from scratch vodka sauce drool He won 2nd place which earned him $250 in restaurant credit which is great b/c they allow you to use that on uncooked food like steaks & fish plus you can use it on Cheers

it is sad that it excludes the pouches cause you would think they would want to give away the cheaper items wouldn't you?
I was thinking the same thing. I went to 4 Publix yesterday and not one of them had it. I ended up using 3 Qs at T before reading the post on FB.

Have you considered having an alarm system installed? We had one put in as soon as we bought our house, and I will always have one from now on. We don't live in a bad area, but knowing that the doors and windows are alarmed gives me total piece of mind (especially when DH travels). IIRC, most of the install was free - we just paid a $199 fee for the setup. I'm not sure what the monthly is, but I'd guess it's about $39.
Yes, we have an alarm on our house in MI but right now, we are staying in a family members vacation house that doesn't have 1. This area is EXTREMELY safe. I mean, I left all my stockpile stuff outside in the open overnight during my 2 day sale last week. laugh out loud But as soon as we buy our next house, it will come w/ an alarm system or installed ASAP. And you are right on the money, our monthly fee was $39.

Thought I had a reader but ended up just being a looker Dontknow I used 4 HB today, I justify it because my family is two times the size of yours Wink I am off to get the kidlets from school and hit up my new Wags, again for the fourth time this week already.
I have been a frequent visitor to Walgreens this week too. I managed to get 25 Almay, 20 Tena, 20 Always, 20 Plackers plus a boatload of useful fillers for around $30 and ended with $70 RR. Whee

I just dont like how i am doing any Q organizing lately. Who has the breifcase? was it an cassette organizer? I think I might go that route instead of my 4'' Binder and 1'' sub-binder for Wags/RA. My Wags/Ra binder is not enclosed like my big binder and all my wellness cards that were separated into baseball card sleeves came flying out and got all mixed up - used and not used.
I am the epitome of disorganization when it comes to my Qs. I bought one of those big binders, felt silly carrying it in the store, so I would leave it in the car and take out what I would need for a run. Then, I forgot about the binder until last month and realized almost all of the Qs expired last March...so that goes to show how long it's been since I used it. I mainly use envelopes with lists written on them and the Qs are all organized for that run. Then like some of you, I just remove the Qs if I choose not to get something. But the Qs I have yet to use are shoved inside 1 manila folder completely unorganized. It works for me.
