I haven't found any in a while. Sadwalk

Yes I can't remember all that they gave her, but I know they gave her Vit K (not a vaccine, but I wasn't told or asked and I should have been at least told), and I believe they started her Hep B vaccine series. Hep B is a 3 shot series (as is the Gardasil, one of the HPV vaccines) so they gave her the first one in the hospital. I know there was 1 more, but I can't remember it. I only found out bc I asked about them, they never told me until I brought it up! Rather irritating!
I think K and the Hep B were the only 2 my kids got in the hospital. Can't remember though.

Life is going to be wonderful. You just might not be able to leave the house for the next 5 years.

Ahhhh.. isn't 4 great? Rofl2 I was just telling a mom the other day that 4 is a lot "mouthier" than I expected. I swear my kid never shuts up.

Took the kids to the museum today with my SIL and nieces that are in town. There weren't a lot of families there but they have spring break camp and the kids were all running around wild. It was horrible. It looked like there were some college/high school aged kids who were supposed to be watching them, but honestly they were pushing and yelling and running around like lunatics. I know there were all camp kids because they all had the same name tags on. Note to self: don't ever sign my kids up for camp at the museum.

People with a HyVee: Chef Michaels is on sale this week $15.58 for the bad 5/$4 for the 3 oz. thingy.

I copied this from the deals thread and I am not the OP:
(1) bag 17.99
(5) cans 4.35
subtotal = 22.34
-$10/1 dry
-$1/5 can both from today's paper (regional)
total oop = 11.34
-$5 GC = 6.34 or .57/lb plus 5 cans

So with a price match:
(1) bag 17.99 $15.58
(5) cans 4.35 $4.00
subtotal = 22.34 $19.58
-$10/1 dry
-$1/5 can both from today's paper (regional)
total oop = 11.34 $8.58
-$5 GC = 6.34 $3.58 or .57/lb .31/lb plus 5 cans

I've never done a price match at Target. It sticks in my mind that I read that you check out then go to customer service for the price adjustment refund or can I just take the HyVee ad and have them price adjust at the register?

It was the one downtown, and it's not very impressive. My nieces wanted to go to the beach, but the weather isn't very nice for that today so in-laws decided on MOSH. I was like, WHATEVER... I actually got a membership because the orlando science center, which we're going to on Thursday and 3 museums in Boston, where we're going at the end of May are all on the reciprocal list with ours. So we'll save some money getting into all of those for free.

We did do the Extreme Science show where they showed experiments with static electricity and liquid nitrogen. Cole farking LOVED it. He told me it's the best show he's ever seen. Ok, well now mr. mouthy is hugging me in unison with the hug smileys so I've got to scoot and find a craft for us to do before I push him off the couch.

PMs with GC deals are a PITA! I've actually only PMed 1 time at T b/c you have to go to GS to PM. I'd rather just have my entire order and coupons rung up in the checkout lanes. Anywho, with the GC grouping the system recognizes the product value as less b/c it applies the GC toward the products. This is why it states refund value on receipts after the grouping. They register may not allow them to adjust the product price down. I'm not sure if I described that properly but the GC fudges things up. If it's something you were gonna buy @ T anyway, I'd say go for it.

I am the only one in this thread..what, did everyone get a life in this thread this morning..
Two Harris Teeters, BRU, BCF, and library. Rocked out at HT, bombed everywhere else. Someone has literally gone around and taken the cards out of every single magazine. Mad Like someone else said, must not be a SD'er - I mean seriously, if you're going to take the cards, at least take the magazine so they restock. And at BCF, I actually had someone paged to come to baby registry and asked her if they had anymore copies, because the ones sitting out were all thumbed through and looked nasty. You know, cuz I need them for my MOMs meeting. Teehee Nope, they're out. Or at least that's what she said.

They give vaccines as soon as babies are born now? See, I am not wasting my time just hanging out here. That is information I might need to know. I have grown kids, they might have a baby eventually and now I know this.
I have always requested them NOT to vaccinate my babies in the hospital. Just felt it wasn't necessary, that the birth was traumatic enough for them, no need to traumatize further. Their immunization schedule does not have to start right at birth. I always would get them caught up at later visits.

We. are. finally. back. Needed to do a T. run since T. was on the way back from gymnastics and my list was getting ultra-long. DD was HORRIBLE in Target too which lead me to believe she was way overtired today. Yep sure enough she was out in 5 min. for a nap.

Quote from _Gator_ :
When DS started gymnastics, he was an AWFUL listener and never participated in any of the group activities--and he was with a group made up solely of his friends. It was 10X worse when I participated along with them. He got better and I think it was confidence that changed his attitude. He was getting stronger and better at gymnastics. Hang in there! It has so many benefits!
Faint I hope so. I gotta remember she is only like 2 mos. past 3 too. I am hoping she will do better next week now that she kind of 'knows' how the class goes. She ran onto the big trampoline today while the older kids were jumping!!! Aye, her teacher assured me that it was fine and that they're all kinda like that 'til they know how it goes. Embarrassment I hope so; she has never ever been like this. She'd usually a good listener and stuff.

hug you are not alone! Went to T for JJ's portraits. Major fail! He did not want to listen or sit still at all! Granted he's only 19 mos but I did expect him to sit for a couple shots. We walked out empty handed and me sweaty and frustrated! Just feels like a major waste of time. Frown

*snip*
OMG Comfort DD's one-year pics were like that....she'd never been in a studio before because my brother or I had taken her pics and boy did she not like that idea! I feel for ya!

Okay... quick post and then I must go do something about the nastiness known as my house. Faint

We went in at 6:30 AM (I'm TIRED), and she was finally released around 1pm. It took half an eon. Doc said there was not as much scaring as he had expected, so that is a good thing. She has some exercises that I must make her do so there is no "malingering" (that's what doc said and I don't think he's using it correctly... lol) At any rate, she is in pain and has a very swollen face. I am sure she will be fine - the first day or two will be the worst, I assume.

She has to take antibiotics 4x a day. Faint

And I think hubby is going to Faint I just looked up our insurance stuff and saw that my last doc visit shows lab work to a non-participating provider. That is not going to be good news. I looked up the doctor on the insurance website, so I don't understand how that could happen - do they use labs that aren't participating?? It's so frustrating.

I learned that the hard way too. I think you have to check with them to find out what lab they use and ask them to use one that is in your provider system. I guess there are too many competing labs for the doc's office to keep it figured out who goes with what. But it's one more instance of this ridiculous health insurance system.

You even have to ask them to code things as "medically necessary" sometimes. Isn't that asinine? Took me months to get some charges lowered/dismissed and then to get a refund.

Well, hubby walked in from work and was here about 15 minutes before the phone rang. He's back out on a trouble call hoping he gets back home before American Idol starts. Yes, I know, it's not on tonight. He also wants pizza for supper. Doesn't get much easier than throwing a pizza on the Pizzazz. Hmmm not that he's back out anyway, I could have him pick up real pizza.

I didn't do my coupons from the 20th because I only got 5 papers and I was hoping I'd get a few more this week. Didn't happen but it left me with 2 weeks to do plus a big purge of expireds. Got them done and pulled the ones I want for KMart doubles.

I find Target coupons boring right now. I need excitement. Last time I was there I tried to get the Pedigree that was on sale for $4 - $3 MQ. They only had one bag left so I got a raincheck for 9 more. Today I found a whole stack of extra papers from the 6th that I had gotten after the fact. That's the one with the coupon. Damn it. Now I need a rain check for .. ohhhhh about 20 more bags.

The 20 lb. Pedigree that is on sale for $10.99 isn't a bad deal
(10.99 x 2) = $21.98 - (3.00 x 2 MQ) = $15.98 - $5 Gift Card WYB 2 = $10.98 = $5.48 for a 20# bag.

Just checked the database and it looks like some people got a $5 on 8.8 lb. or larger coupon. Even better but I'm not of them.
Quote from Thrifteh :

You explained it fine. I haven't done very many gift card deals at Target either nor had I noticed that it reduced the item price. I don't believe this one would be worth the hassle, especially since it's a one use coupon and I live too far to make multiple trips.

I just had no idea they had started vaccinating at birth like that. Way back when I had mine, they didn't. First round was at 2 months. But that's definitely something that new parents should be specifically asked prior to doing. Geez, what next? Circumcision whether you want it or not?

I have never run into that problem. If it actually says they are paying at the non-provider rate, I would call and talk to them. It could simply be an error. If it's not then I would inquire as to why an in network doctor is using an out of network lab and how is an in network doctor determined.

If the insurance company doesn't get it fixed then I would move on to the doctor's office. Ask why you weren't notified about the lab and insist that they cover the additional charges.

STFC run today. Found a MIR tearpad for a free tombstone pizza (up to $7.01) wyb ANY hasbro game! Limit 5. Finally found some PF peelies too!
Walmart has boat loads of these tear pads if Target runs out. I just need to buy the games now.

nod For all 3 of my kids, you had to sign paperwork that you were or were not authorizing the HepB shot. *ANYTHING* that is done to your child while in the hospital, if it is elective, should be authorized by the parent. Hospitals can tend to take too much on themselves when it comes to this, and esp first-time parents are not always aware of their choices and options.

I have one whole hour of NO KIDS in my house. Hubby took them to my sisters while he goes running, so I could have some peace and quiet, cuz I was going crazy. Whee So I'm gonna get off here and go sit and veg in front of the TV. Big Grin
