Then I came home and proceeded to make a pineapple upside down cake, Watergate salad, cookie dough (chilling), mushy meat, and a macaroni salad that I don't think will be good. I like Miracle Whip and always have. I use it in mushy meat, tuna salad, etc. Lately it tastes funny to me. Is it just me or has anybody else noticed a difference?
What is this Sick ?

I always prefer Miracle Whip on a sandwich, but for potato salad and tuna salad, only Hellmann's Mayo will do.

Ok how long has the chicken been cooking and is it done? Oh, and it's ok, your chicken will be fine, I just need to know where you are to tell you what the next step is. Don't start cooking any noodles yet.
I put it on this morning - it's done. I shredded it and thankfully it looks normal. laugh out loud

I have the broth (mostly chicken fat lol) and a pile of shredded chicken.

OK,for anyone just tuning in (and cares laugh out loud) I asked my BFF Google and added several cups of broth and dumped the noodles in the pot for a 1/2 hour. Hopefully this works.

I do that a lot... you can add some water to it and boil it - boil the noodles in the broth and you'll be fine. You'll be better than fine... Big Grin

eh... i'm probably too late... but I suspect you discovered you're fine... Smilie

. Anybody freeze milk much? How does it turn out once you take it out? How long do you have to consume it after you take it out of the freezer then?
I freeze milk all the time.. I am going to be adding 20 cartons of smart balance to my freezer this week thanks to Publix heart

It freezes fine.. Takes several days to thaw in the fridge though. I just shake it every now and then as it is thawing..Once thawed, I have had no problems with it staying fresh for another week. I don't drink milk.. but the kids do, and I use it to make things. Hasn't been a problem for me. My DH actually has poured some for my toddler out of the carton when it was only half thawed and warmed it in the micro for a few seconds.. I thought that it would taste funny cause it wasn't thawed/mixed.. but she drank it Dontknow

HELP!! GT or anyone else that knows how to cook - I put a whole chicken in the crockpot - no liquids, just celery, onion and chicken boullion and planned to make chicken and noodles only the though just occurred to me that I have no recipe for doing it this way. I can wing it but if anyone has ever done this, I'd love some guidance. I'm using bagged noodles cuz...well....that's how I roll.
I was wondering what kind of boullion? I cook most all of my meats in the crockpot without liquids.. not that I am a good cook at all laugh out loud
Sometimes I add some cream soup, but sometimes not..

And, yeah.. I am sure you have already eaten by now Big Grin

Ummmm, what exactly what do you want to know? How to make broth, how to make noodles, both??? What kind of bouillon (cubes, crystals, paste) and how the hell did you do that with no liquid? Come on, dontcha wanna make home made noodles? They are soooooo good.
I am way too lazy to ever make homemade noodles Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
And I don't cook often I guess, because I have never seen boullion crystals??

Quote from rachael_9667 :

It was frozen and I had it on low...I was thinking of another recipe recently that I swear said not to add liquid.

I know I can cook the noodles separately and then add the broth but didn't know if there were any other seasonings or thickening that needed done. When I use Mrs. Reams, it usually needs very little thickening.

I usually cook my noodles seperately.. I have a habit of leaving them in the crockpot too long and they get mushy on me vomit

I like to cook and shred the chicken and add some cream of chicken soup and some sour cream or cream cheese and melt it with the chicken. Then I put that on top of rice or noodles.

I am sure it all turned out yummy!

I am working and haven't had anything to do in the last few hours so I ran out to publix.. wouldn't ya know it the one night lately that I have been slow enough to take a break and shop and the darn store was out of everything I wanted so I left empty handed.. well not empty I guess cause I got rain checks. I should have gone to target instead laugh out loud

Actually, I spelled it wrong... sort of. Technically, it should be mushy - like mush. But we pronounce wrong, like mooshey. And it's bologna salad -- ground bologna, salad dressing, sweet pickle relish. When my son was little he called it mooshy meat and it stuck.

I guess they are actually called granules. They are like instant coffee. Noodles are easy and don't really take long at all to make. And they are soooooooooo good.

Sorry I ran off and abandoned you. I waited a little bit for an answer then I had to go off and feed my people and finish my cookies. I meant to stop and check back in and got occupied and forgot. Sorry about that.

Just for future reference. Next time you want to make chicken and broth for noodles. Just throw you chicken in a big pot or roaster, fill it will water, season with whatever you want and boil the daylights out of it with the lid on. When it falls apart, take the chicken out, pick the meat off and throw it back in. Taste you broth and season a little more if needed. If it's a little too watery, add some broth, bouillon, whatever you want. I prefer broth or soup base. Get it back up to a boil, throw in your noodles and cook til they are done. Another option is to make dumplings instead of noodles. You can do beef and noodles the same way.

I didn't exactly boil the noodles but the recipe I found said to use 4 cups of liquid and then dump the noodles in for a 1/2 hour. I figure there was at least 2 c of broth already so I added one can and some water. Too much water though, next time maybe just a 1/2 c.

You guys are geniuses! I never thought about adding sour cream or cream cheese either! It makes sense since it is a creamy kind of dish but I've really only done that on a super yummy chicken and rice casserole that I make. I'm glad I waited on the noodles - I figured it would be mush so I held off.

Oh and I almost forgot the boullion question AGAIN LOL - GT asked too, yes I used boullion crystals - I just dumped them in. L2B - they are in the spice aisle and they are made by Wylers I believe. I use beef w/almost every beef dish I make and the chicken one w/chicken every time. It is optional and for making broth technically, but, I use it with the broth.

It was watery so I thickened with corn starch. I wonder if flour would make it thicker like I have had without making it white? IDK - whenever I've had it at our hometown restaurants, it looks like just chicken and noodles but it's thick-ish. Hmmm.

laugh out loud It's ok - I knew you were feeding your family hug

The last part is EXACTLY how I always do it except I use Mrs Reames instead of your homemade noodles (but I saved the recipe to try next time I'm home all day! woot) and you're right - it's the same technique I use for dumplins. I've never tried beef and noodles and have no idea why not. Guess I just never tried and wasn't sure what cut of meat you use, etc.

I didn't do it my normal way since I wasn't going to be home until right before dinner so I just threw it in the crock pot this morning without remembering that I don't actually have a recipe for this way laugh out loud

Thanks everyone - it was pretty good. I think I used too much cornstarch but DH liked it so IDK.

Question:

I had 2 coupons today and was read the riot act at Publix for trying to use them both in 1 transaction.

FREE Toaster Strudel wyb Cheerios
FREE 3 yoplait yogurt wyb cheerios

Bought the right size of all products and they were PISSED when I tried to "double up," as they said.

Otherwise had a good trip to P. $52 down to $8. No problem using the WD cpn. Also used the FD coupon w/o trouble (not on same trans.)

Took a car load of stockpile stuff to my brother's house. Having a sale in his neighborhood next week. Can't wait. It is a great location. Had a small but successful T run as well. Cool

Have a nice weekend everyone. We're off to a flea market in the morning and the beach tomorrow afternoon. Smilie

As for the April Fools joke: I ended up not playing it; DH and I were watching TV last night and someone mentioned April Fools on some show and he was like, "oh that's tomorrow! better not try any tricks on me..." laugh out loud Saved it for another time.

Thanks for the tips on the milk guys.....sounds like the biggest dilemma will be making room in my freezer Teehee They DID have some room in them until I stuffed 15+ bags of Kraft cheese and numerous Blue Bunny items in there Wink

And I wish we were neighbors b/c I would be all hoard all the time if I could have frequent garage sales in an actual metropolitan area. Hope you kick a$$.

My 11 y.o. DD just took the remote away from me so she could run the DVR. Does that mean that a 1/2 bottle a wine was too much? Scratchchin LMAO
