Man, it is starting to storm big time here. I think I may call it a night early. DH is not feeling well and is headed to bed. I suspect he'll be waking up the baby anyways... I think sometimes I'm the only one in the house that knows how to be quiet. laugh out loud
Oh. my. lanta. That is how it is here too. When dd was a baby dh would always come home at lunch time (he's 5 min. away and gets an hr. lunch break) and it would be RIGHT in the middle of dd's naptime. It never failed, EVERY day he would walk through the OPEN baby gate in the kitchen and SLAM it shut out of habit. And then stomp through the house to the bathroom, right by dd's room (why can't they walk quietly?!?!) and between the gate, the stomping, and our dogs barking hysterically every day when he came through the door I could have been rich had I earned a nickel for every time she was woken up!! I had to run music and a fan in her room every day laugh out loud

Noah is by far my best nurser. Mini and JJ were 5-10 minute snackers. This kid will eat 20-45 minutes every 1.5-2 hours. I told J what goes in must come out. I'm just glad I'm stocked up on diapers and buttpaste.
I'm glad he's doing so well. Does he seem to be doing better on the breast milk than JJ did? I remember he had all those allergies and crap like that.

No one seems to know how to shut a door quietly either - just a fast yank/push/shove/slam. No one but me turns the handle, pulls it shut, then turns the handle back. It's not that hard!

Ah well... it could be worse, right? It could be quiet all the time because there is no one here at all.

Good news! Tanner is home. I am sooooo glad. I was a little apprehensive about him coming home. I had this idea in my head all along that he'd be "healed." I guess I compared his hospital stay to that of a patient in a regular hospital with pneumonia. A few meds, some rest, and all is well.

We have an in-home therapist that is coming and she is awesome. At first I was a little worried that we wouldn't "mesh" well but the more I listened, the more I started to wish she was the baby manual when baby arrives. lol She gave us a lot of good suggestions about how to handle temper tantrums, tanner's violence and aggression, and responsibility and accountability. I'd be happy to share this with anyone if you're interested.

I know we have a very long road ahead of us. It isn't just tanner or my other kids that need to change, it's me and daddy as well. Over the years my frustration has made me very short tempered and I yell. I don't like to yell and, even though I realize it gets us nowhere, I cannot help myself. It's like as natural as breathing for me. I have to change that.

So the therapist is coming back tomorrow morning to talk to me and charles again before she talks to tanner. The plan is to get down what we want to set as boundaries, rules, and consequences. Then she will come back when tanner is home and our entire family will sit down and go over all of the rules together. The kids will get to decide the consequences to their actions and we will ensure their safety in the event that they are angry and having a fit.

I really like her ideals but charles is a little more reserved. I think he's scared. I think he's afraid that our entire lives are going to be changed under the control of someone else. What he doesn't realize (but soon will) is that if these methods work, tanner has a chance to grow up and become an integrated part of society where he can function normally.

The psychiatrist diagnosed him with 4 disorders, 2 of which we knew about. Mood Disorder NOS, PDD NOS, and the two we knew of: ADHD and Selective Mutism. It's a mouthful isn't it?

I'm just so happy he's home. I missed him so badly and just having him here is a stress relief. For the duration of the week he will do what they call "partial care" where he goes to the hospital from 8:00 to 4:30 for group therapies, gym, and other things, and then home at night. That way we can see how he adjusts at home but while still having the "comfort" of the staff there. So far he's only on one medication, Trileptal, but I would like to see him back on his ADHD meds, Focalin. That's something I will be talking to the psychiatrist about.

In other news, I'm upset with his school because he has (and always has had) an IEP in place for special services. The school re-evaluated him and decided that he no longer qualifies for services because the issues are not at school but rather at home. I think he still needs the services. (special help with reading and math) Though he seemed to score right above or below the 50th percentile, he still has many struggles. I refused to sign the paper and disagreed. I don't know for sure where we go from here but I won't go out without a fight.

So that's my looooong update. lol
Praying for you and your family and sending you a cyber hug! We have been through a lot in our family too. If you're looking for any other resources, I'd like to recommend http://celebratecalm.com/. We bought the cd's and they have helped us tremendously!! DH tells ME to calm down now! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)nod

I'm trying to remember how old JJ was when his symptoms started rearing their ugly head. So far so good and I'm super OCD about inspecting the dipe for streaks of blood or change in color from mustard to green. I Pray he doesn't have the milk protein/soy allergy like JJ but they do say he's more likely to have it. Which sucks b/c JJ still cannot tolerate milk. He's fine with cheeses and what not, just not straight milk.

There is no such thing as a too fat noodle. We like 'em fat and chewy. Hmmm, I hope you weren't expecting anything at all like dried noodles in the bag from the store.

I usually end up with too dang many noodles and not enough broth. I don't thicken it, it does a little on it's own just from the extra flour on the noodles. The amount of meat is up to you. We don't really want much (if any) meat in ours but we are a little weird. A lot of people eat them over mashed potatoes. Hubby and I don't but both set of parents did. So, how were they?
Sorry for butting in...

My fav leftover noodles is to combine them with saute onions and cabbage...yummy
Mix it all together..All mushy and delicious.

A good polish recipe hug

Cole was a hot mess with a million different types of formula and reflux and crap like that. Kiley had not a single problem with any of it. I'm hoping Spider Monkey #2 is much more milk tolerant, for your sake.

I don't know what to do. Obviously, we are picking up creeping crud somewhere. I've washed the kids toys, washed down all surfaces (well, floor needs to be done again), switched toothbrushes. I just don't know what else to do or where this is coming from.

Morning Hun. Is she teething? It is entirely possible she is picking up crud that is making her sick, however, her temp comes and goes, which makes me think she might be teething. We are doing better over here. The fevers are gone, but, the house as a whole all feel tired and just not normal.

Dreeme...I'm glad your baby was home last night. hug
