RETIRED: Target chit chat

Good evening!

We're back from Busch Gardens and safe from the tornados. It was crazy weather! I'm hoping our next trip has a little less drama. We were getting a barrage of phone calls in our room with updates on the tornados. It's a scary thing and I'm sad so many people were impacted by the weather. One of my friend's in laws lost their house.

Setsail- I though of you when we shopped at the Hanna Andersson outlet. They had the final markdowns on last seasons clearance. I got some great summer T-shirts for $3.

I see the new P&G 5/1 preview is up. It looks rather bleh and not many promising coupons. I'm wondering if there will be 1 barcode or 2.

I almost sent you a text when I saw the tornado alert on my phone! I'm glad you had a good time. I saw that the park was closed due to weather yesterday. First time I can ever remember seeing that.

We're taking the kids next weekend and hopefully no tornadoes. And lol about Hanna. Last time we were there I wanted to go but dh and the kids voted no. I did go to LL Bean though!

My dog frigging stinks! He has BO, I swear. I guess he does chase cars all day long then lay in the sun panting. I would wash him but he is as big as me and weights just the same. I took him to Petsmart once, holy hell I dont want to have to do that again - he was an absolute spaz! but really need to get his nails trimmed. I have a fear of doing it now. I used to trim my Shih Tzus but I made him bleed once and didnt ever do it again.

Thanks for thinking of us! I can't think of a time that Busch Gardens closed either. I can't imagine anyone wanting to be there anyway, it was torrential downpours with crazy lighting and strong winds.

Did you see they opened a Janie and Jack outlet? They have adorable clothes for my 5, almost 6 year old. Their clearance was really good.

I don't look forward to the day when my 3 boys and DH get to outvote me on shopping. We'd never go shopping again! Even trips to T involve bribing.

Just to be fair, let me say I haven't tried Pedipaws but I have looked at them and I cannot imagine how they would work worth a darn. The revolution per minute was a joke and they are cheap a flimsy. The reviews are also horrible. Don't go there.

That said, I do use a rotary tool on my dogs. Mine is a Black and Decker variable speed (about $25 at Wal-Mart).

I grind and I much prefer it to clipping. It is possible to get too short and make them bleed but I have only done that once (yesterday, as a matter of fact) and since it grinds rather than cuts off a big chunk, when they yip you really haven't hurt them much and it doesn't bleed and bleed and bleed like clipping.

I was very surprised that the dogs were so cooperative. The chihuahua is... well a chihuahua, it's not like she can do much, but she could squirm and fight. She doesn't. She just sits on my lap and tolerates it. Heidi requires a different approach. As long as my DD feeds her treats, she is good as gold. She just lays there and has snacks while I do it.

It isn't difficult but does feel a little weird at first. It leaves the nails much smoother than clipping and I think it's easier. I think it's easier to get them shorter too. Most people actually leave their dogs nails too long.

Do a search of two, there are some good instructions online. Here is one very quick You Tube video [youtube.com]. It is not me and it is a pure coincidence that it's a German Sheperd. I watched it because it was only a minute long. It does take longer than the video shows. I think it took me about 10 or 15 minutes to do Heidi's yesterday and about 5 or 10 to do Coco's. I don't hurry and I gave Heidi a couple minute break between front and back.

I was going to use my Q's at Target but found the better deal was at BB. I did this last night at BB and had no problem using the Q's and getting the store $10 off! The BB register wouldn't let me use a 10% off movies that I got in my email. She tried to get it to work but she said it wouldn't because of the Q's.
