I'm happy to hear you are safe. So sad for those who's homes and neighborhoods are gone. Have a Sil in kansas and have seen the devastation those things can cause, it's really awful.

Yes. The oldest 2 girls are 16 and 17 and are very good friends with my 16 year old daughter. The 10 year old that was killed was so sweet, always smiling and loved my 3 year old cause they had the same name.
Just saw the mom on Thursday and she was so excited because she had made other through prom weekend with her older three. She hugged me and said she would see me Sunday.. this was on Thursday and she was killed Friday night Frown
Apparently news reports now seem to think he had planned to kill them all, but something stopped him. The article I read today said knives were found by the other bedroom doors.
Those poor kids found there mom and sister and will forever have that image in their mind. They will need counseling for sure.

laugh out loud I do have a phone with the internet, so who knows, I may be Wink We shall see. I know her pic should be up on FB pretty quickly after she is born. Also, Rach is going to be called by my Step mom or oldest DD, so she should be able to update all of you Smilie

I am sure I won't be posting during the actual C section. laugh out loud When I had the last one, one arm was strapped down to an IV and the other had a BP cuff on it, so I wasn't able to move them at all really. Frown
I know you will share when you can hun. I don't think you are the type to take us through your pregnancy and labor and then...well..never mind. We know you will share when you can. You are a sweetheart.

Happy Easter everyone Smilie

Another long day.. Had a difficult morning at church, but a good easter service.. After delivering food to the grieving family, we went out to lunch and came home.. first Easter in my entire life that I ate out at a restaurant rather than being with family and having ham, turkey, and the big feast.. But, I am thankful for all my blessings today!
The guy who killed his wife and her daughter did turn himself in today, so that is a definite positive.. the poor kids need to feel safe and be able to get some closure. I think the funeral will be tuesday or wednesday..

Ariel - good luck on the C/S.. not long til you can hold your baby girl hug
I am so sorry to hear about this. I can imagine you must be feeling shocked and a whole bunch of other feelings. We are here for you. How are the kids doing with all of this.

I can't... Sadwalk

Miss M actually has her follow up Tues or Weds for her leg, and i'm suspecting that she'll be getting the cast off. Yay!

So... that's my day.
It's ok about the pants. This is the internet you just never when people are truthful, so don't you feel bad.

Yeah on our Ms. Mavis. And when that cast comes off..you must give her cake!

Hope everyone had a good Easter.

Yikes on 2 sets of twins!!

With my oldest, I was totally on top of it. I was a single parent for many years, so I had to be. I didn't want to be *that* parent with my kid running around like a hellion.

With my 2nd one, DH didn't quite have the early training ideas that I had, so after discussion and his insistence, we delayed training. We've paid for that ever since! She's not completely horrible, but there are definite things that are much harder now because we didn't do them earlier - i.e. sitting when told, immediate obedience without questioning, etc... but, we'll get there - she's still young enough to correct.

Mavis is being trained much like my first one and coming along well. She's learned to lay still during diaper changes (not a big deal on most, but there are those certain dipes that just require letting mom do the dirty work!!), and she's learned when we say "No" or "Don't touch" - that it is exactly what we mean. She's my super fast "I want to stick my finger in the light socket" kid, so we have got to make sure we can stop her from doing stuff before we can reach her - even with her cast on, that girl can move!!

Of course, consistency is ultimate. Let one thing go one time, and you are right back to square one. Oy...

I would suspect that even now your friend could turn around a lot of the behavior and attitude, but it would take some extreme "tomato staking" and a LOT of work. I know it's hard as a parent with one kid at any age - let alone two sets of twins! That would be some major commitment on her end. I have discovered that many folks (and even myself sometimes) are not up to making that kind of determined commitment.

Seriously, though, I'm not that far behind. I just have some laundry to finish up... dipes in the washer and a pile on my bed that needs folding. Yay!!
It does take a lot of hard work, but the results are so worth it. Expecting good behavior and getting it is very rewarding.

I actually had one older gentleman compliment me in the store on the behavior of my kids (and I actually had all 3 with me) and told me he knew it represented lots and lots of hard work. I could have hugged him. Big Grin Well-behaved kids aren't (usually!) born that way - they are taught.

Yep, saw that. Now I need to start planning all my shopping lists. Big Grin

Had a lovely Easter Sunday, despite still struggling with congestion and a sore throat. My sister and I collaborated for the meal, and it was delicious. Love me some ham!!! laugh out loud

OK, off to visit a gigantic thrift store that has everything 25% off on Mondays. Hoping to find some pots for the 8 tomato plants I bought on Saturday...

Oh yea can I please have a Kroger here in this wonderful state. I would love some free groceries, but I am not going to wear pointy black boots when I shop. Oh my I am so bad!

Still waiting on growing white blood cells here, they are bobbing right around 0.1 after the last round of chemo. Poor little sweetheart. On the positive side, Trevor's going to be a big brother!

Our forecast is pretty much rain all week. Again. It's sunny and pretty right now, but supposed to cloud up and rain this afternoon. I should be outside doing something but it's still darn chilly. Especially since most of what I need to do involves messing with water -- cleaning and getting the little pond going and vacuuming the pool. No big hurry to get the chairs/cushions or the gazebo canvas up since it doesn't look like I'll be outside this week!

Gonna go to Target later this week -- maybe Wednesday. Can't really think of anything exciting about that. I will check there and WM for the ??? is it Nivea body wash we have $3 coupons for? Whatever it is, I haven't cut last week's but I'm sure I have some. I need meat but that's just expensive, not fun.

Our fishing trip is less than a month away but I can't even think of any shopping I need to do for that. Granola bars are nice to throw in the boat. I could use a super cheap deal on those.

ham ....just drier than I'd prefer
Oven Bags. I won't cook a turkey any other way and they work great for hams too. The amount of drippings you end up with is excellent.

Bunnies!! I have to say, you are looking very springy today. Glad to see you perked up.
Quote from ank220 :
I am tempted to dig it up when we move, but I would hate to kill it.
You can probably move it alright. Granted, transplanting before it starts blooming is better, but it doesn't make it impossible. Stick your spade down in the dirt as far as you can all the way around it and then lift the whole root ball. I'd leave the dirt around it but if it all falls off, don't worry about it. Just stick the root end in a bag or bucket to keep your car clean and replant as quickly as you can. If you can dig up and replant the same day, it would be better but a day or so will be fine too. Keep it in the shade -- or at least out of direct, hot sunlight -- while it's not planted.

Well, in that case it won't work. I'm convinced that those are magic boots. They change coupons into what ever you want them to be.

If that was a Jaime Kirlew comment (with the boots), she was shopping at a Safeway and not a Kroger. Nathan and others were Kroger.

Somewhere in the thousands, I guess. Once it starts to go up, it should rapidly. He had one last round of chemo last week, but we are supposed to see something within 3 weeks of the transplant, which would be the end of this week.

She is 6 weeks along, which means it didn't happen on my watch!EEK!laugh out loud I was there 3 weeks ago. Cool

Are you sure you don't need it? I would gladly use it, but ONLY if you are sure you don't think you will!

Oh no! So sorry! I hate it when they do it in the car! Hope she feels better soon and you are able to get it all cleaned up!

I will be cleaning up a car seat today too, but not bc of vomit. Yesterday I was checking CL (daily habit of mine right now) and I was able to score a second car seat for the baby for only $20! It is a Britax, which wasn't what we planned on using, but since it is just as a backup I figured it was a good deal!
