Came home where DH said he was still not feeling well (he's had ongoing stomach issues and is actually now asking me to make him a doc appt! finally!) and only wanted rice to eat... *snip

Hope DH gets some relief from the Doc.

We had tornadoes here last night. LOT'S of them. Our airport is damaged and closed and houses and whole neighborhoods around there are just....gone.

Luckily we are safe, just some large branches down and things blown over in our yard. Scary.

I do have a phone with the internet, so who knows, I may be We shall see. I know her pic should be up on FB pretty quickly after she is born. Also, Rach is going to be called by my Step mom or oldest DD, so she should be able to update all of you

I am sure I won't be posting during the actual C section. When I had the last one, one arm was strapped down to an IV and the other had a BP cuff on it, so I wasn't able to move them at all really.

Another long day.. Had a difficult morning at church, but a good easter service.. After delivering food to the grieving family, we went out to lunch and came home.. first Easter in my entire life that I ate out at a restaurant rather than being with family and having ham, turkey, and the big feast.. But, I am thankful for all my blessings today!
The guy who killed his wife and her daughter did turn himself in today, so that is a definite positive.. the poor kids need to feel safe and be able to get some closure. I think the funeral will be tuesday or wednesday..

Miss M actually has her follow up Tues or Weds for her leg, and i'm suspecting that she'll be getting the cast off. Yay!

Yikes on 2 sets of twins!!

With my oldest, I was totally on top of it. I was a single parent for many years, so I had to be. I didn't want to be *that* parent with my kid running around like a hellion.

With my 2nd one, DH didn't quite have the early training ideas that I had, so after discussion and his insistence, we delayed training. We've paid for that ever since! She's not completely horrible, but there are definite things that are much harder now because we didn't do them earlier - i.e. sitting when told, immediate obedience without questioning, etc... but, we'll get there - she's still young enough to correct.

Mavis is being trained much like my first one and coming along well. She's learned to lay still during diaper changes (not a big deal on most, but there are those certain dipes that just require letting mom do the dirty work!!), and she's learned when we say "No" or "Don't touch" - that it is exactly what we mean. She's my super fast "I want to stick my finger in the light socket" kid, so we have got to make sure we can stop her from doing stuff before we can reach her - even with her cast on, that girl can move!!

Of course, consistency is ultimate. Let one thing go one time, and you are right back to square one. Oy...

I would suspect that even now your friend could turn around a lot of the behavior and attitude, but it would take some extreme "tomato staking" and a LOT of work. I know it's hard as a parent with one kid at any age - let alone two sets of twins! That would be some major commitment on her end. I have discovered that many folks (and even myself sometimes) are not up to making that kind of determined commitment.

Seriously, though, I'm not that far behind. I just have some laundry to finish up... dipes in the washer and a pile on my bed that needs folding. Yay!!

Yes. The oldest 2 girls are 16 and 17 and are very good friends with my 16 year old daughter. The 10 year old that was killed was so sweet, always smiling and loved my 3 year old cause they had the same name.
Just saw the mom on Thursday and she was so excited because she had made other through prom weekend with her older three. She hugged me and said she would see me Sunday.. this was on Thursday and she was killed Friday night
Apparently news reports now seem to think he had planned to kill them all, but something stopped him. The article I read today said knives were found by the other bedroom doors.
Those poor kids found there mom and sister and will forever have that image in their mind. They will need counseling for sure.

Still waiting on growing white blood cells here, they are bobbing right around 0.1 after the last round of chemo. Poor little sweetheart. On the positive side, Trevor's going to be a big brother!
