thank you HD for appreciating the junk lying scattered around my brain. i'm trying hard to find some remnants of the GG of old. remember how i got very depressed about not doing deals and pulled away from SD completely? i find myself getting very sad these days about being stuck in pain and immobility for so many months. feel like life's just wasting away. so i'm trying hard to push myself about going in a different direction.

Once I was helping the aides pass out breakfast trays and a guy asked me to get him some oatmeal. Of course, the kitchen had to tell me that his diet card said corn flakes.

Went to Six flags park with the family yesterday.. Had a wonderful time.. Kids had a blast.. Then I had to drop DH at church to sing, and the kids to a concert they wanted to attend, and I hit target.. Nice small STC run cause I realized I have a ton of coupons expiring in the next 2 weeks, and will be heading out of town this week !
Today we visited with the inlaws, and I hit 2 targets and a CVS.. Can't find that darn JF haircolor anywhere here.. I give up.. I did buy me some JF shampoo though to console myself
For those who don't CVS regularly.. There is a good sale on PF makeup this week. Alot of the items are 6.00 off.. I got a couple things that were only 2.00 each.. Paired them with some more expensive items I wanted and used the 5.00 coupons. PLus the expired 5.00 off 20.00 coupon is still beepless and I also got a 3.00 off cosmetic coupon from the scanner.. I also got my free sunscreen as well.. As hot as we have been already here, looks like I will need to stock up!
Today I found small packs of peeled garlic in a pack. I didn't buy any since I am planning to clean up the deep freezer. Three months rest for that freezer…
but here i will balance it out. for those of you doing diet stuff/trying to lose weight. i stumbled upon a cool website the other day. it's called sparkpeople.com
you can set your personal weight loss goals, keep a calorie count chart, or a food journal online, and even interact with friends/a group. it really is very cool. and it lets you pick 3 goals that you want to do everyday for a month, then pick 3 more etc. simple things like drink 8 glasses of water, walk for half hour, whatever. you pick 3 things.
i thought it was a very empowering and cool site.

so, a friend of mine had this issue with her kids. turns out most of the conventionally grown soy one finds in food products is a) high in pesticide residue b) GMO soy. and their allergist told them that the allergy might not be to the soy, but to the pesticides, or to the genetically modified aspects of the soy (it's designed to be resistant to certain pesticides/chemicals and responsive to others, so that farmers are forced to buy pesticides from the company that makes the seeds). at any rate, they tried organic soy products and organic milk (so free of hormones, pesticides etc and always nonGMO ) and had the problems go away.
not sure if there is any way they can test for whether Noah's allergies are to the soy/dairy or to the chemical contaminants/residues in there? maybe worth asking a good allergist if they can do a blood assay to verify that, cos it could make your eating life a lot easier.
sigh, the things these companies are doing to all of us.

The first thing the lady says is "Did you get those coupons here or bring them with you?"
She said they were just taking a penny off. We went through the whole one per purchase thing. She said if I wanted to use 10 coupons she would have to ring them all up separate. I smiled and said "Okay." She sighed.
She said it still didn't work. Then she told me they couldn't be used on the cans. It said any 16 ounce snapple tea . The cans were 16 ounce.
She tried it on the larger bottles. It still didn't work. She said it had to be a 16 ounce bottle. But she said they don't carry them. I asked why they posted coupons for items they don't carry. She said corporate sends them out. I asked how to contact corporate. She called her manager. The manager didn't answer the phone. So she tried the coupon one more time... on the cans... and by gosh - it worked!!!
She scanned it NINE times. I heard the beeps.... Then she gave me the total. I asked if she was SURE she scanned the coupon TEN times. She swore she did. She bumped her finger down the screen and pretended to count them. She confirmed 10.
I paid. Asked for the receipt. Saw that one can rang up at .79, while the rest rang up at .39. I told her it looked like she only used nine coupons.
I know. I know. It was only 40 cents. But dang it - I was in it to win it by then. And she shouldn't have pretended to count them before.
So she had to void that and re-ring. I got .42 cents back!
It only took five or six hours....
this morning on the way out of my development to drop stuff off at the municipal recycling center, i saw 3 cute little bunnies chasing each other around and i immediately thought of you!

a face stick for 8.89
and used a 5.00 off 20.00 cvs coupon (expired, but not beeping), and 3.00 off 15.00 skin care crt (from the scanner in store) and 2 printable coupons for 2.00 each.. leaves you paying around 8.xx (hopefully with previously earned extra bucks) and getting back 10.00 extra bucks
Even without the skin care crt, it would be paying 11.xx and getting back 10 ECB for a net cost of 1.xx.. I love getting cheap, name brand sun screen.. after last years deals, I was stocked up on all kinds of spray stuff and face sticks
