ank, glad to hear you're feeling better! face/ear pain - did you try the hot rice bag compress or hot salt bag compress? works beautifull for me. (heat dry rice in microwave till it is super hot; tie into a cheesecloth or 100% cotton kerchief, do a compress with the small bundle; even softer option - heat salt in a pot, till salt crystals become really fine and start popping ; put carefully into a doubled cheesecloth or 100% cotton kerchief, tie to make a bundle, do a compress with the bundle). both options stay hot/warm for a long time, and you can just even hold them near your ear/sinuses without touching skin and you'll feel the comforting radiating warmth. hug

setsail, Blowkiss thank you sweetie! progress is slow, but i am grateful for every inch.

bunnies, what came of it - well, i was on the phone almost non-stop (except stopping at 9 am for 10 mins to eat some breakfast) from 7:15 am to 4:30 pm. no lunch, no bathroom break.
result -
a) i managed to cajole/beg/complain my way into a doctor's appt Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) after waiting for 3 months. and
b) i managed to get my insurance to start the process for refunding me the premium that they kept charging me for the last 5 months (!) despite totaling my car!

the other conversations -
a) calls to state police, and police headquarters and 911 request followups were endless loops of buck passing and voicemails;
b) conversations with insurance for getting reimbursed on hundreds of dollars in medical bills for copayments, coinsurance, deductibles etc was more of the buck-passing/voicemails;
c) conversations with insurance on getting the car settlement money (his insurance still wants witnesses because they claim that their driver said he had green and the fact that a sworn law enforcement officer of the state held him solely responsible for the accident and completely at fault is not enough for me to get 100%. ridiculous) also went into more buck-passing.
d) conversations about injury settlement also in limbo cos they want more medical info but all these months I couldn't give em that until i could get therapy and have more tests/conversations with doctors, but HMO wouldn't let me get treatment/tests without a new PCP and I couldn't find a PCP that would take new patients anywhere in a reachable radius. sigh. so it remains in limbo now with the hope that this latest doc appt will set of the chain of therapy and tests.

progress, in small measured doses, doused with patience in large, generous barrels. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

but i am grateful for that little bit of progress. it is something.

You can buy morels in stores??? Never seen it. There are people around that do sell them. Seems like they usually sell for around $25 per pound. I hear this year, it's even higher. It hasn't been a very good year in a lot of places.

We love morels around here...we usually have a good stash of dried morels on hand...I have never seen them in the store either...maybe WF now that I think about it, we always find them ourselves or get them from someone who did.

I was wondering late last night while lying in bed why my grocery total was so high... I checked out about 20 minutes before the store closed. It hit me that I forgot to give them eight MQs (worth $7.50) I called this morning and made sure they would hand me $$ if I showed up. They will. Senility may be creaping up on me... the funny thing is I stopped by the house just to cut three of the eight to use a rain check last night.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes yesterday. DH and I had a great dinner at Bonefish Grill. I had the Bang Bang Shrimp and Stuffed Halibut and it was very good. Funny story, there was a couple in the booth next to us and they were also there for their anniversary. Turns out not only was it also May 16th, but it was the same year that we got married too. That's pretty unusual I think, especially when you've been married as long as us.

Tootsie, the Corona flip flop is a bottle opener with a magnet on the back. I have them on my garage fridge for now, do you want one? The limes were key chains, but they were cheap junk and DH took them to work and passed them out.

Uugh, so aggravated... supposed to be flying out tomorrow.. flying standby of course, and now all of the flights are over booked with huge standby lists Frown I am so disappointed.. Looks like we may be sitting at the airport all day and still not get on.. I am praying that something happens and all of those people decide they don't really want to fly tomorrow and don't show up laugh out loud
