For the ricotta do you just crumble it on your salad? I never thought to put it on salad, but I have buttloads of it from a deal at our grocery store and need to find ways to use it.

yep, i just crumble the ricotta onto the salad greens and sliced tomatoes, then drizzle the balsamic so that the ricotta absorbs some and the greens/tomatoes get some. and then i just toss well together so the dressing has blended and the ricotta is evenly distributed.

you can add crunch with a few walnuts or pecans or sunflower seeds or such if you like. or you can use toast or high fiber/low carb crackers as i mentioned earlier.

i love cheese, but where i am trying to cut back on eating bread and crackers and such, i have to find ways to incorporate it. and i have found i really like it in salad. haven't tried it with romaine (the dark greens like mesclun and arugula have a more peppery taste you know, so i like the contrast) but it should taste just fine, especially ricotta cos it is such a mild cheese and will take on the flavors of the dressing. it'll be a little like adding blue cheese/blue cheese dressing to lettuce, but not as sharp/salty/pungent.

another thing you can do with the ricotta - make herbed stuffed chicken breasts.
super easy - just cut the chicken into slim and thin strips and spread a thin layer of ricotta mixed with some herbs and garlic. roll up the breast, secure with a toothpick and brown in a skillet.
once the outside is browned, just put in a baking dish and into the oven for about 10 minutes.

yummy

For anyone that has bought a house recently how long does it take the agent to get back to you when you make an offer!?! Geez, last time I don't think I waited as long lol or maybe it is impatience Frown ERRR come on lol
We didn't purchase our house recently (7 years ago) but it took about a week. Mostly because the seller didn't care if the house sold, so it took them forever to get back to us.

Mine are outside. I planted them in 5-gallon paint buckets. We rent, and I hate putting time and money and effort into a yard that's not really ours. So we went with the cheapest container option that was big enough to allow the tomato plants to flourish. We've had them planted for about a week and a half, and they've already grown close to a foot in that time.

Our rain hasn't been excessive, but just enough that I don't have to water them. And our rain has actually mostly been at night, which is very convenient. Big Grin
I am doing container gardening as well. Mostly I am doing it this way, cause I am new to gardening and they say that beginners have more luck with containers. I have a shiny 'new' deck and colorful containers..so I am hoping that my babies (seedlings) will see that I have taken great care to give them a pleasant home and they will be inspired to grow. laugh out loud

Yummy, I'll have to throw some in my salad today.

And those chicken breasts sound yummy! Have to see if any are marked down at T today. The other day, they had the perdue chicken breasts marked down to 1.29/lb! Faint Only had enough on me to get one pkg, but that is a great price.

OK, I really need to print a few more coupons and then head out the door to Target. Boy, will I be glad when school is out! Only 3 more days!! :yay: My little guy graduates on Monday. I am so proud of him, but also a little sad. Such a milestone!!!

Did you write your time for response into the offer? Our agent did this for all of our offers and counter offers so the seller doesn't sit on your offer dragging the process out. If not contact your agent to see where you're at. That's what you pay them for.

me too - love blue cheese crumbles. stilton. drool

24-48 hours is the norm. But you can always call your agent to find out what's going on. That's what your agent is there for, to answer your questions. And he/she would know whether the seller's are trying to entertain other offers, or whether they're waiting to hear back on a counter from some other buyer or if something else is going on. All the agents talk to each other unofficially, so they know what's going on, without tipping off that a buyer/seller is anxious to get a deal done.

I'm not sure I'm brave enough to start from seeds. laugh out loud I was cheap and got the 2/$1 tomato plants from Lowe's on Earth Day. Wink

Your babies are very lucky to have you as a caretaker. Its amazing what we can invest in things we love and are motivated about. I have been going out every morning and dumping my pitiful amount of coffee grounds, spreading it judiciously amongst the five plants. laugh out loud And whenever we have eggs, I crumble the shells and share them.

I forgot my coffee and breakfast at home Sadwalk It is still raining here. At least it's not snow. This is the rainiest May on record, and it's only the 19th. My toes are starting to get webbed. Darn it. It's cold!

We bought our house 2 years ago (actually moved in 2 years next Wed!) and heard back within hours. 'Course I had to get on a plane in a matter of hours, it was like an episode of House Hunters!

Oh--no!! I'm sorry you forgot your coffee.

I would have loved to have known within a few hours. When we bought our house the market was not at all like it is today.

His arse is getting a call by this afternoon if I don't hear back from him... I would like this done and over with... you know!?! Basically the house will be vacant for almost a year but it alleviates all the worrying about moving which is driving me nuts and fuks... Then I can buy all brand new furniture and call it a day... then by the time we move in..all should be good to go.. you know!?! Oh well eventually... lol

Thanks for all the advice ladies!!!

Kay-- Me too... I think of Greenie often and hope that the pain is alleviated from her as the pain is CRAZY and horrid and no one should have to live like that Frown HUGS!!

We got lucky when we bought our house. Stuck up wifey decided she didn't like the neighborhood, after putting $100,000 into it. Her hubby decided she should wear the pants, and we bought the house for less than what they owed, minus all the improvements. I love, love, love my neighbors, they shovel my driveway, always wave, came over for graduation, bring cookies. Next door neighbor is a trauma nurse, simply wonderful. And instant equity!
