drama: wags thread last night. courtesy of a Fan who never returned to post a reply after bunnies, I and MsGal said our pieces. Wink

shoprite, thanks for the great info! this will help me learn shoprite and study its deals so then i can get her to do it. and i will get her into it. she's in the process of house moving so I'm not even bothering right now till that is done. but once that happens, i will have to teach her coupon basics first. oy! and then likely go on a few shoprite trips with her to show her the ropes before she can do it on her own.
but she's a sister. so no sweat. i'd do anything for her, anything.

my other friend (the one in NYC) - haven't talked to her in a bit. she's still going through hard times I think. Have it on my list to write to her tomorrow.

you know the things, when you want to support people emotionally and help people and advise them, etc, it's a really good feeling when you can. but sometimes the process also takes a lot out of you - you know just listening and writing etc. i'm so drained these with all these stupid injury pains and heartburn and cough and fever, that sometimes i look and think, ahhh, i don't feel like writing out a long email right now. kwim? i feel terrible about that. working on being a better friend.

p.s. next time I step out, I will ask to swing by the coop store and see if I can get some Sprouts books for you.
that fan gets around... will try to check it out tomorrow.

if your friend has any questions about shoprite, don't hesitate to ask me or in the thread. most wks shoprite also has a 4-day sale, wed-sat so i don't go until later in the wk and i usually try to coordinate going w/ my neighbor, fri or sat. we went today. usually a couple days b4 i put together my shopping list at www.shoprite.com then i email it to my neighbor and i can email it to her too. your friend sounds like my neighbor... kids, mommy brain, etc. last wk we were shopping w/ 2 of her kids and somehow i ended up keeping them busy, sending them on a blinkie hunt, teaching one how to buy eggs, etc b/c for some reason scrunchy's playhouse was closed.

i thought you lived up by bunnies? maybe i'm confused. so sweet of you to take her shopping a few times to show her the ropes. if she's near bridgewater target, i could meet her and do a run w/ her too. there is a costco there and the target greatland is very good for clearance. i missed the turnoff for 287 and ended up on the other side where i saw the shoprite. i haven't been inside yet though.

i haven't really spoken to your nyc friend since that time i met her b/c she said she needed to move and she was going to apply for WIC. i only been in the city on wknds for family dinners since then but now that the weather is nicer and we have baseball tix, i'll be in the city again. if she's gotten her WIC i could take her to the chinese supermarket in chinatown.

in other news peeps, i got these great deals from the cvs clearance thread. usually they have big signs and color coded clearance stickers all over the makeup but this time i was at three stores and only the rimmel at one store had clearance stickers. i finally scanned the loreal at the 3rd store today and whatdaya know, it was 75% off! i got me a rimmel eyeshadow -1.00mq, loreal powder - 3.00 visible lift mq, loreal concealer -2.00 face q and loreal eyeliner - 2.00 eye q all for 2.65 after another 10% off from joining the beauty club. prices were a little higher than posted, but usually just a few cents. below is the info-

Quote from alcangelus :

Quote from alcangelus :
They did not count for the deal but I am not complaining. They also had brow pencils and liners that can be used with the $2 off eye products in 4/17 RP making them cheap or if you have a $/$$ free

Rimmel Nail polish- 75 off , Coupon in All you for B1G1, polish was 1.07

NYC Color cosmetics (LOTS!)- 75off- used 5 off 10 coupon from ALL YOU this month plus 5ECB beauty for free
Sally Hansen- 75 off nail treatments plus 1$ off coupon from newspaper insert made them little over 1$
Loreal- 75 off concealer, used 3$ off coupons to get 4-5 free plus one Eye liner for little over 1$
Pediasure Choc 4pack- around 1.76 on sale, used IP 3$ off coupons from website to get Free
Nature Made- 3 or 4 different 75 off, 3$ in RIB made them free with overage.
Nivea- Chapstick 2.99 1 Dollar CVS cpn, 1 Dollar paper cpn, ended up 99 cents.
Clearance isle had Essence of Beauty mini nail files 4 packs for 23 cents as well as travel pack of
CVS energy (nut mix) for same price. They have ghirardelli squares for 1.07 and their website has 1 off coupons. Hope they are there when I go back!!! That maybe all can't remember. Came out with 4-5 bags full of stuff the last two days thanks to coupons and ECB's. Also got a CRT for 10% off beauty purchase for 3 days due to beauty club enrollment, I am already enrolled ?!?
Quote from s2000stealthbox :
I found the Rimmel Glam Eyeshadows (single ones) for $1.09 each and the Rimmel Glam eyes Lash Flirt Mascara for $2.09 (the one with the bronze cap).
Quote from LuvFreebies :
Micro liner is a pencil.. i scanned the other shades; only the black showed up at the clearance price, however YMMV..located on the absolute bottom (below the mascara ) well in the stores that I went to. the pic will give u an idea, i think the pic showing is the brown one.

Thank you sweetie. I shall tell them both the relevant stuff about meeting up with The Teacher and Friend extraordinaire.

Not sure if she got WIC. She wrote to me and I got very sick and didn't manage to write back. So will try tomorrow.

Other friend... she's in the opposite direction from you. Westchester County. Although I suppose it's all relative. but that would be a bit of a trek for either one of you.

We're family for all intents and purposes. Her kids are my kids and so forth. So we talk and see each other regularly. Figure I'll do a few trips with her to the grocery store when I'm visiting her place next. I'm neither near Bunnies (well, it's all relative) nor near this friend, but they're both eminently reachable by car as a morning trip/daytrip.

I visit with Bunnies on my computer every day. I like it that way. hug

Think I might have been a bit rough on this class?

Two comments from one of the students in the online group:

Re: Thursday 4pm class

This week I finally learned what about MIG Welding. I have a couple of co-workers who say they were MIG welders but the only thing I could associated their job with was stick welding. Now I can go back to work and actually know what they are talking about. I also learned when to clap after a speech and not to mess with Ms. XXXX.

Re: Thurs. 4pm class 4-14-11

The arguments in class were classic it was like the movie 12 Angry Men instead our movie would be called 3 Scared Men and a Lady that will kick your ass.

DH uses this stuff. Lots of "binder people" out early this morning. That's just what I call all the new ECers. They all have big 'ol binders and me with my little zip pencil pouch.

I have a pencil pouch (well actually two of them book ringed together) too. Bright pink. Came from wags.

I don't know which kind of aspirin the paper guy uses. Maybe I'll just buy a selection and let him pick.

shake head early bird insomniac here was up and looking early. but all you chatterboxes were snoring instead of talking. i can't decipher snores so I figured might as well whip a batch of...

... chocolate chip pancakes. which I did. and finished a load of dishes.
still more sticky eggy chocolatey messes need washing and rinsing (wondrous).
and bills need paying (gorgeous)
and house needs cleaning (stupendous).

all in all, i am enraptured. can you tell? LMAO

Quote from getgreen09 :
you don't need to replace the whole desktop for that.
can you reformat the drive at all, or is the drive not booting up at all? if the latter is the case, you can do one of three things in declining order of difficulty:

1) get an internal hard drive, open the desktop case (the tower or slab, not the monitor), unscrew the old drive and fix the new one.

2) if you are not comfortable doing that, even easier, get an external hard drive (you can get em for 50 bucks or less these days), connect it to a different computer and install windows on it, and set it up as a bootable drive. connect that to your desktop and voila! you have a working desktop again.

3) did you happen to back up your desktop onto an external drive at any point? if so, you can just boot up from that, then while it is connected to your machine, connect a fresh external hard drive to your machine and move the stuff over so you have a backup of the backup.
So awesome! Thank you for this info.
Background - increasing BSODs which worked up to previous crash. I opened it up, & reseated the memory sticks (saw the idea online), & that or something else I did while in there got 'er running again. BSODs slowly increased again & another crash. Memory reseat didn't work this time - so it's currently not booting at all (it's looking for something in the CD/DVD drive & beeping). I do have restore disks, but can't afford to lose some of the data I have on there, so I'm not currently using that option.
I haven't messed w/ it much this time, bc of the YS.
I do have an external drive hooked up to it which contains a recent backup. If I do not get it to come on, I guess I'll hook it to another computer & install windows on it, so I can boot from that.
Bottom line, I think my OS got somewhat corrupt. If I get the bugger running, can I install Win 7 (it's Vista now) & not lose any data? I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but I need to hear someone say it Stick Out Tongue. I have stuff on there that I have to use as evidence in a hearing & can't afford to jeopardize it.
