As far as potty-training goes, she is one of those kids that is scared to death of her own pee and poo. The first time she pooed in the potty, she saw it and totally freaked out. Since then, she absolutely refuses to do any business on the potty. She'll sit on it for 20 mins, 30 mins, 40 mins, and do nothing. I know she is physically able, and ready for it, but we have to jump that psychological hurdle first. I'm thinking once we get back from all our traveling in June, that will become our #1 priority, to get her going on the potty.
Its amazing how resilient kids are. I'm still having flashbacks, and Eva is totally back to her normal self.
So much for staying under the radar.
Yeah, I'll probably just do that.
So much for staying under the radar.
Anywho, I would like to suggest a probiotic. Maybe a yogurt with probiotics in it or a capsule that you break open and put 1/2 in her drink or apple sauce or whatever. This would be an ongoing addition to her regular vitamin regiment. With Noah and his MPSI a dear friend suggested looking into Culturelle to help get his gut healthy. Well, probiotics not only help the gut's balance of good bacteria, but also the body as a whole. I've got JJ and Noah both on it now after speaking to my lactation consultant who has dealt personally with reflux & MPSI.
Speaking of the MPSI, after 24 hours on Alimentum, Noah ended up with burning reflux and I said back to the breast b/c he spits up my BM but it doesn't burn. So tomorrow will be 2 weeks that I'm dairy/soy free and my rash is completely gone and Noah has only a couple spots left on his face, more on his neck (front & back) and shoulders. His dipes have changed back to normal color and consistency. I'm glad to see improvements so soon as they say it takes up to 4 weeks for the milk protein to leave my & Noah's system.
JJ, Becca and I have some nasty bug. I as worried about strep b/c Mini's throat has many raised reb spots. Did quick test on JJ & Mini, came back negative but he wrote a script for JJ anyway.
There were many posts that I wanted to reply to but I'm mobile because my laptop power plug in on the machine is broke.

doc called in an rx for me so I had to go to pharmacy to pick up - they refused to let anyone get it for me. turned into a family excursion and then we also went to grocery store. painful to walk but nice to get out from this virtual house arrest. got thermacare and dye free cough syrup virtually free at cvs.
found unsalted crunchy organic PB at TJ's.
was coming out of grocery store, and lady was pushing grandson in stroller. he was eating an apple bigger than his face and she started to tell us that he loves apples and fruits. doesn't want cookies, only fruits. my sister had also come along and was standing beside me. so my sis chimed in and said that she always loved cookies, cakes and chocolates as a kid, and that i was the one that loved fruits, never ate junk. woman looked at sis admiringly and said, "yeah but look at you now!" sis, said "aww thank you!" and then she turned to me, and said "and i'm sorry but look at you now!"
no one spoke for the rest of the car ride. it was official.
ah the daily gifts of the accident that keeps on giving.
flug... sometimes the chlorine in hygiene products can result in lots of yeast infections/rashes, because chlorine messes up the natural pH, plus of course is very harsh to skin. most diapers these days chlorine free, but pullups may not be, and conventional wipes are not. i had never had a yeast infection in my life, and then suddenly, over a couple of years, i was so susceptible and had so much skin irritation. my obgyn said you are likely allergic to chlorine. sure enough, as soon as i eliminated conventional feminine hygiene products and switched to the chlorine free ones, every irritation vanished. try it. seventh generation has a bunch of chlorine free stuff for babies. so do other lines.
keeping the nether areas dry, and um ventilated, will help a lot. as will avoiding using fragranced products, or things with lots of artificial moisturizers etc. all of those change the natural pH of the body and that will result in far greater growth.
bunnies - glad to hear you're feeling better. latex allergies are the sucks - especially for women of child-bearing age.
college list: you've gotten lots of ideas, so i won't clutter with more. BUT, i will say this: order an ikea catalog from their site (it's free). you'll get lots of great ideas. they have these pop up laundry hampers (other places are making knock offs now) that are very useful and stow away as a flat disc - important in tiny dorm rooms. also, bed bath and beyond has lots of great ideas, and some things will be much cheaper/better there with a 20% off or $5 off q. get working on your sb/zb gcs girlie cos you can get gcs to places to get things. and finally, i think the best way to think of what one would need is this: if your son were moving into an apartment of his own right now, and it had a skeletal kitchen, but had everything else, what would he need? those are all the things he's going to need.
don't forget a shower caddy - a basket basically where you keep your shower stuff and then put in a cubby in the bathroom, since no one has their own shower stall. AND flip flops to wear in the shower. don't want infections.
organic pesticide: get a Neem spray for bugs. Neem Oil is very, very, very safe and very powerful. It's an extract from the neem plant, and is used for toothpastes and mouthwashes because of it's antifungal properties. The juice from leaves is used for insect bites on humans, so it is very safe. you don't have to buy pure neem oil. there are already formulated sprays available also, if that's easier for you.
organic fungicide: pottasium bicarbonate. Greencure and Kalligreen are two. People also just use baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) diluted in water. But Pottasium Bicarbonate is more potent/effective.
ank - strawberry allergy. was thinking about this yesterday and thought to say to you, have you guys had her try organic strawberries and see if she's allergic to that? conventionally grown strawberries are showered with the most pesticides/fungicides of any produce item in the US - latest tests found residues of 16 to 19 pesticides on the strawberries even after being washed! Plus a lot of the conventionally grown strawberries you find in markets, are grown in South America - even less regulation. She might be allergic to those potent chemicals rather than the strawberries themselves. And since those chemicals don't disappear easily, you'll find em in all conventional strawberry products. Lots of people are becoming aware of this strawberry issue now and buying organic for that, so the prices of organic strawberries has really come down. We got em at Trader joe's today - there was a 20c difference between a conventional 1lb and an organic 1lb! Totally worth it. Their entire section of organic strawberries got wiped out within a few minutes after they set up the display. The conventional ones were just sitting.
sunflower seed butter - who was it looking for this? can't remember, but meant to mention, they had it at Trader Joe's today. 3.99 a jar. I think that's cheaper than what you said you were paying at T. If you don't have a TJ's near you, let me know if you want me to fill a USPS flat rate box and send your way. The jars are plastic and fairly light, so no breakage etc.
meeshe, I'm so sorry about the disappointment over the house.
I will PM you about the resume stuff soon, I forgot to get DH's flash drive before he left for work.
Ok, GG, did you
So much for staying under the radar.
And GG, I can't even imagine having the nerve to comment on the looks/physical condition of someone I know, let alone a stranger.
And thanks for the helpful info. I did just get some of the 7th Gen wipes a couple weeks ago, haven't used them yet, but will start. We don't generally use a lot of products on our kiddoes, but I suppose one of them could be the culprit. I'll have to look and see what the lineup is on the tub.
Planned to hit up WM, T, and Giant. Got to WM and realized I had left all my coupons at home except for the handful I'd grabbed for WM.
i see you took my advice!
I'm baaaaaaaaaack bitches!
Sooooooooo... on the flight back last night Cole starts puking 2 minutes before take off and throws up the entire flight. DH was sitting next to him and I was across the aisle with psycho baby. Luckily I had a change of clothes for him in my carry on. Poor kid. I think he was just overtired from the trip.

As for the yeast infection, I second the probiotics/acidophilus push. I believe you can get powders to put on/in the foods she normally eats if yogurt is not an easy push. Have you tried making yogurt pops? Maybe that would work.
Does she swim or get sweaty? Make sure her undies are all breathable cotton and that if she gets sweaty or swims that she changes and gets dried off very well and as soon as possible. Also make sure she changes at least every day (some kids don't...) Any kind of excess moisture will encourage yeast growth. I will often let my little girls have some "nakey" time each day to help keep them "aired out" - especially after a bath. You may want to switch to showers for a while so that she's not sitting in the tub just in case there's something irritating her from that.
I was going to type something else but it has slipped my mind.
I mean NO ONE needs to eat that many 'noodles' One of tose things has the entire daily recommended allowance of sodium.
And it's funny that you mention the noodles. I have about 10 packs of those things. I personally like them a lot but I don't think I eat more than one every couple of weeks. I can't imagine eating them *that* often!!
That psychological hurdle can be the worst one to get over.
I have not tried exclusively organic strawberries, but now that she's been without for a little bit I may pick some up to try. I am hoping the weather holds out and we can get to the farmer's market to get some this weekend!
Ugh... I keep forgetting what I was going to say.
I am hoping some good q's come out soon for overage. It would be nice.
