Ank, what are you buying at Kroger that is prompting CAT's? I really need to start shopping there more, especially since they are keeping DS occupied 40 hours a week this summer!
There's a catalina for energizer products - $10 wyb $25 - includes schick, playtex (both tampons and the bottles/cups), energizer, edge, etc... If you check out the Kroger thread there is a list in Wiki 5. However, there is debate on when the catalina ends. Some folks reported 6/4 and some reported 5/31 so it may be over now. Frown

Reach - buy 4 tooth brushes, get $4
Olay Lotion - buy 2 get $2
Covergirl - buy $15 get $3

good afternoon everyone!

Quote from ank220 :
Yay! I need to go on a diet. That is why I have been avoiding the diet thread. laugh out loud

I hope you get all your deals!! Smilie Anyone else noticing coupon scrutiny like some folks are reporting? I am thinking I'll do a few small runs and get back into the groove. Not in the mood for confrontations, so if I keep it small, I think I can manage it.
Nono1 summertime is the perfect time to join us in the diet thread!

i think my problem is my runs are so small. beeping for whatever reason never helps either.

sunday after the bbq we stopped at stop and shop to get free pasta, sierra mist and pepsi max. i had 1 circular q and 2 bricks q for ronzoni garden selects. for some odd reason the 2nd bricks beeped and she said she couldn't take it. i said, *why?* so she calls over the supervisor and starts babbling that the coupon says one per purchase. sigh! he just punched some buttons and i paid my 8¢ like i was supposed to. i looked at my receipt in the car and he put the coupon in as cash.

last nite at target the blue bags of lays chips were 5.99 Sadwalk

so i ended up only buying 2 jf root repair conditioners and a magnum ice cream. btw- i found 3 blue survey peelies on the almond in the back of the freezerBig Grin. i only found them b/c the box i pulled out looked like the back of it had been dragged on the ground Confused. ring up my 3 items, start handing over my coupons to the cashier and on the last one she was about to scan it and then says, she's not sure i can use all the coupons and pulls them back out and starts looking them over. i say some of them are mq's and some are tq's. she says, i know. calls over the supervisor and says, this (3.00 jf q) says one per purchase. supervisor (who i do not like and told a cashier and then found out it was his cousin, oops!). he looks at the magnum tq and the jf tq, says something about 1 per trans (uh-oh!!!), then looks at the magnum mq and 2 jf mq's and says it's ok. so she finally scans the last mq.

so i'm thinking this target maybe limiting tq's to one per transaction. not a good sign!

i'm getting very tired of this *purchase* definition problem. i feel like gluing a multi-item kellogg's mq and a multi-item p&g mq on a poster board and holding mini classes at the register about what the definition of purchase and transaction is.

Quote from ank220 :
I also was getting a couple of things with overage and was putting it on to a gc. The girl said the gc had to be rung up separately and I was a bit Cold because I've knew I'd end up with getting cash back - which I HATE to do. Anyways, she took the q's, hit a button, had to wait for CSM approval (which must be done by computer or something now because NO ONE came to the register, it just poofed the message and let the transaction finish), and I got $30 cash back! Faint She smiled and apologized for the wait!! I was so shocked I just went ahead and bought the gc! I should've run away yelling "stc!!!"
you need to get them used to just giving you the overage instead of trying to disguise it.

Did I mention I finally got a call back from my insurance company?

They somehow thought that DH and I were debating on keeping the van. In spite of the fact I said "we'll just let you keep it" when I talked to the total loss guy. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) At any rate, they are fedexing a check to the insurance office. She called and said it should be here anywhere between friday and monday.

Well, that is good news... however, our rental has to be returned tomorrow. Grrrrrrr. Not sure what we will do for transportation in the mean time. They won't extend it because they did try to call us (last weds. when we were at church) which constitutes trying to get ahold of us to get it all worked out. blah blah blah = not their fault. (never mind I have called every other day to find out what is going on and keep hearing either "call back" or "someone will call you")

I used to like our ins. company. Not so much anymore.

Oh yeah... air conditioning...

Roll

I think we got it working. DH was poking around at the the unit thing inside and found a plastic bag that had gotten sucked up in it. It seems to be cooling things down.

slowly...

I was surprised at how well the fans did yesterday. As long as we kept windows/doors open and fans on, the air circulated pretty well. It was hot, but not totally unbearable. I did take the girls out for a little while in the afternoon, so that helped.

I would be absolutely a mess if I was pregnant though. I don't know how anyone did it before air.

Today, I decided to stay home. We are going to church this evening, and I hope to make a small kmart stop - nothing special that I know of... I just like to check them out ever-so-often.

DH is wanting me to switch to disposable dipes. I have given away all the dipes I've ever stockpiled, so now I"m starting over. Frown He has a super sensitive nose, so even with a diaper pail and daily washes he can't take the smell of the dipes. I don't know why, but it makes me feel kind of sad. But... that's one less load of laundry I have to do daily, eh?

I am also considering weaning Mavis. One side of me looks and feels like hamburger meat. I don't know why she prefers to gnaw at one side, but it's driving me crazy. Frown Makes me kind of sad here too. I may do some pumping. We'll see. Sadwalk

I went to Kroger last night and none of my catalinas printed. GRRRRR. I am missing out on $19 worth of cats!!!

Okay... that's all I can remember between interruptions. *laugh*

I still need to make it to Target. *sigh* I just didn't have the energy to go last night.
Good deal on the a/c! Pray that was the solution. BTW, did you ever hear back from your landlord? They still need to get someone out to look it over.

Oh no on the dipes and BFing!!! Can you put her pail on the back porch/patio or something? Does he realize that disposable dipes will now be at minimum $40 a month (given she only uses 1 jumbo pack a month). You've come this far...think outside of the box...outside the Pampers box!

As for nursing, if she's tearing you up do try to continue pumping. My sister had the same issue at 7 mos and pumped until my nephew was 1 year old. Formula is EXPENSIVE! Even though there are coupons and formula checks it is still expensive.

It'll all work out mama!!hug

I did talk to the landlord and they are still sending the AC company tomorrow to look at it and make sure it's all updated and doesn't have any problems that are lurking. Kind of a preventative thing - which I think is a good idea since many of the units around here have been recently replaced - so it's probably almost time anyways.

I am nursing mainly on the one side and pumping on the one she's gnawing at - so that seems to be okay so far. I DO NOT want to start giving her formula (or buying it really...) now. If she had to, that's one thing, but she doesn't have any needs that require me to switch to formula. And for the dipes I am thinking I will do cloth while DH is not home and just rinse them out well before he gets home. I may try the pail in the shed. DH would not want it on the back porch because then we might look like trailer trash. laugh out loud He's always worried about that for some reason. It's one of his quirks. I think if I remember to run them through the rinse early enough I will be able to make sure there's no odor indoors. If not, well... I may need to ask for an increase in my grocery budget!

That or I may tryec'ing [wikipedia.org]her. It's kind of lateish, but being summer and having the ability to run around nekkid now anyways - well... it may be a good enough time. Not my favorite idea because it'll take some work, but... eh. May be better than buying the darn dipes.

That or pray for another amazon deal!!! laugh out loud

I'm sure it will work out one way or another. I just hate the idea of it.

Maybe I just want to whine... lol. I think that's it. I just want to whine today.

As I was reading this I moved a little bit and the screen jumped. I read that as "It'll all work out mammal". EEK! And since you were talking about breastfeeding, it didn't seem too out of place. I was trying to decide if that was rude or funny.LMAO

I dislike calling insurance companies. Frown DH wanted me to call and see if they'd extend the rental. Short answer is no. I have not felt so talked down to in my life. The lady said you only get the rental for 5 days past the offer and apparently tomorrow is 5 days. On top of that, the lady said that it may not actually be Friday or Monday when we get the check - it may be up to 2 weeks. I don't want to tell DH that - he will be so mad.

Why do they have to be mean and talk to you the way they do? Why make someone feel like crying - can't they be a little more patient and polite and maybe understand where their customer is coming from. Even if the answer is still no, there's a nicer way to put it.
