So, did you? I went out, weeded a little -- like 3 feet. Removed that giant bittersweet and pruned up the rose bush that was underneath and still alive. I carted the debris to the garage and put it in the back of the truck to haul off later. Came back in the house, answered a PM, drank a glass of iced tea and ate a banana.

I am sitting here repeatedly checking my email to see if an offer on a house has been accepted. That's my excuse anyway.

Yes. I thought I remembered talk about some on clearance a long time back so I checked the website. There are some that specifically say they are available in store.

Eww, sewing. I hate it. I refuse to do it. I swear I would rather be naked and beat than forced to sew anything.

Huge multi quote coming !!

Quote from getgreen09 :
they teach algebra in college? :

what's college algebra involve? can he get help with a tutor? been a long while since I did any of that, but I'd try helping him if I knew what was in his coursework. algebra's easy - just have to teach yourself how to approach the problem. learn the strategies and every problem is just a variation of the basic strategy. if he practices the basic problem variations this summer - an hour a day - he'll be good to go for the fall.
Yep, they teach college algebra.. He actually has to pass the college algebra class just to move on to the other classes he needs. His major requires pre calculus and calculus 1. But, you either have to take college algebra first, or test out of it.. And, it is also a prerequisite for some of his other science and computer classes..

I *loved* math in school, especially Algebra.. I could probably help him, but ya see that is part of the problem. He doesn't want my help it seems.

He can go to math tutoring at college, which I suggested last semester, but he never did. Everytime I asked how he was doing in math, he claimed "okay".. but, obviously that wasn't the case Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Quite honestly, I am sure he could pass the algebra if he put forth the effort. He never seemed to study.. But, I do worry about the calculus courses because I was very good in math, studied hard and graduated second in my class, but calculus kicked my butt...

Quote from tootsie67 :
college alegrbra is NOT easy Nono if you are not mathematically inclined my dear. A lot of late nights and hired tutors got DH and I through it in college!! My friend failed so many times, she finally got a learning disability waiver so she could finish out her major! EEK!
My son used to do well in Math and then when he hit highschool he just seemed to lose interest and struggle so much. He ended up passing HS algebra with a C, and then passed one semester of geometry and failed the second.. He decided algebra 2 would be too hard, and then switched his college prep track and just took a general math course.. Thinking he wouldn't really want to go to college and would go to tech school instead.. Then, he later decided he wanted to go to college.. Now, we are stuck with all of these math requirements and he is struggling.. At this point, I KNOW math isn't his strong thing, and I hate to see him struggle for 2 years with the difficult math classes.

I basically talked to him on the phone the other night and told him he needs to seriously consider what he wants to do.. If he desires to finish college and get his degree, he needs to stop playing around, determine to get extra help, work hard and pass those classes.. I told him if he puts forth half effort, he is just wasting his time and his money.. I guess we will see..

Sooo The last 2 weeks have been the craziest and hardest I've ever been through.

Last week: Surprise! I'm preggo. I'm not only preggo, but 11 weeks along.
During the ultrasound, they detected some issues, go in for extensive testing 2 days later.
On friday, we find out we're having a girl (I have 3 boys), but there are some major issues. I have everyone praying for me, 'cause this little girl needs to be a fighter.

This week: Uncle has a major heart attack on Sunday and yesterday my SFIL died.

We're leaving for Disney on Saturday and I'm hoping getting away from everything will relieve some stress.

Monday I turn 35 and I'm feeling old.

I wanted to drop in and say Hi. Sorry, I'm just a ray of sunshine today.
Congrats on the pregnancy.. prayers for your little girl!

Uh.. 35 in *not* old shake head coming from this almost 40 year old with a toddler!

Have fun at disney.. we are going this fall and I can't wait!

Quote from tootsie67 :

It's easy to think that though if you are good at something I guess Dontknow
I had some of the most amazing teachers throughout school. I was even on the math team in the 3rd grade. When algebra and geometry started, I just kept falling further and further behind. My good friend's father was my algebra teacher and he worked with me endlessly and patiently. Some people just aren't good at certain things, math is mine.
I agree!

and may i just say, i despise paying bills. these bills are killing me. just paid a tax bill and our cell bill and wiped out a chunk of change. and it's only june 3rd. still got so many more to pay. i need a miracle this month.

hope all of you have a good day and for those battling tough things, here's praying today brings betterness. toots, praying for your grams. keep us posted.

College algebra can be tough...
I know lots of students that are in the honor society who dropped algebra a few times before they were able to pass with a good grade. The instructor can make a world of difference. Your son might want to check out Ratemyprofessor.com

Math is not one of my strong points.
I spent lots of hours on my statistics classes.
I like the communication classes - where you just write papers stating what you think. But you can't BS on a math test...lol

!
Yeah, I think he has looked at the site before.. He is usually kinda stuck though.. It is a small school and there aren't too many class options as far as schedule conflicts, instructors, etc.. Like I said, I think his laziness has played a rather large part of it.

He likes communications classes too.. He seems to do well with the papers.

Morning.

I feel so behind. We listed the house yesterday. We are excited but now we need to get DH a job. He resume is looking pretty good so time to get it out there.

We'll be heading out to Target today but I dont even think I know what is going on for this weeek. I do need sunblock though. We are going to the beach the week after next for a short stay.
Yay on listing the house, hope DH finds a job quickly!

Quote from DealHog :
Public schools aren't licensed to practice medicine. They can't put your child on drugs. I'm hearing that many are trying though.

Well, not going to the beach. But to a water park on Sat for a Skillet concert, then getting the party barge out finally for fishing on Sun. So I'm going to have to read up on that sunscreen deal.
I agree on the school thing..

My kids *love* skillet!!

Quote from gt6mk31 :
But it's so much easier to deal with a classroom full of little zombies rather that a herd of normal, active somewhat obnoxious children. Gee, you have a problem with that?

I am here.. Real Life is so getting in the way of shopping and SD lately..

Worked 12 hours yesterday, came home and worked on DS financial aid stuff and went to bed.. alot of times, I read SD from my phone, but can't/don't get to reply.

GT - I got your PM.. Thanks! Haven't had time to reply yet..

Let's see.. been working, but today I am off.. have a 3 day weekend! Should be getting something done, but my butt has been glued to the couch most of the day.. Had 2 wonderful cups of coffee thanks to my Keurig worship Thanks to whoever mentioned the german chocolate cake flavore (lisap maybe?) it is my new favorite!

Don't know what I am gonna do today.. Should be cleaning, but don't want to... Need to do a yard sale and get rid of some stuff, but it is too darn hot here now for that!

I want to get my DD some kind of pool.. I am torn between just getting a cheap kiddy pool, or splurging for a slightly bigger one that some of the other family *might* get into.. like in the 179.00 range..

Talked to my oldest DS this morning.. He was getting ready for work. Seemed to be getting into the routine there. Told me he is really catching on at work. My sister said the manager at the store he is working says he is doing a good job.. and the best news is, he has been there less than 2 weeks, and he got a car woot my sister found a super deal and we loaned him the money so he could go ahead and get it. He will be making us weekly payments for the next 5 weeks to pay it off.. He actually got it titled in his name, and seems pretty excited.. took it home, washed it, and cleaned it up as soon as he got it. He seems to enjoy being able to drive himself to work!

Just had the yummiest dinner - grilled chicken, potatoes and onions in foil packets on the grill, blueberry muffins, and a green salad. yummy And every last bit of it was free with coupons or using up overage. Funny how that makes it all taste even better. laugh out loud

I am getting excited about traveling next week! We leave on Tues, drive to Charlotte and spend the night with friends, then finish on to AL on Wed. Do it in reverse on Sat. Then the following Sat, I leave with 2 sisters and my kids and we drive to KY. Family vacation (my side) for a week. We are renting a house that has loads of amenities, including a huge pool, and I am looking forward to just sitting around with family and relaxing. The only things on the agenda are the Creation Museum and a train museum.

Ariel, we are going to be gone from daddy on Father's Day, too. I feel bad about that, but he's fine with it. He's such a good daddy. heart He doesn't have enough vacation time or he'd be coming with us. At least I'll be with my own dad on Father's Day, and that will be special. That hasn't happened in quite a few years.

And I just have to brag on my family a little bit. My two sisters are going to take my ys stuff and set up for me at a church sale on the Sat I'm gone, just to earn more money for me for our vacation. I thought that was so special of them to offer to do that, and it made me so thankful.
Your dinner sound soo yummy!

Sounds like you have a nice (and relaxing) vaca coming up!!! Whee My kids are usually gone on fathers day (they go to Mt for the whole summer with my parents), but I planned for them to be here, all together this year. Oh well. Plans change and everyone will be fine. Smilie

You should be bragging!! Your family is AWESOME to do that for you!

Anyone have tips for me.. for some reason, on my last 3 target trips, I have had problems with my coupons scanning Confused I am printing on a laser printer.. well, one time it was my sisters ink jet and I thought that was the problem.. he ink was very heavy and it seemed to run the bar codes together..

But, the last 2 times were a laser.. my toner is pretty new, and I haven't changed the settings.. I don't know if it is something with my printer, or the "site" I am printing from..

HD - maybe I could PM you a question..

I tried printing the nexcare coupon, and my barcode scanner on my phone won't recognize the bar code, so I afraid to use them..

It could be the target registers some too because one trip I actually checked the coupon on the price checker and it scanned, but it wouldn't scan at the register..
