RETIRED: Target chit chat

Maybe trying to get the $5 Bounty Q on Facebook.... I'm stuck at work today (a lot of people are out of the office) so naturally I'm on SD!

I supposed I should go outside and weed. I have a 50' fence line that needs attention. ....

i suppose I should go put away the laundry, go through the mail, pay some more bills and call the stupid orthopedist's office. yes, i should.

So, did you? I went out, weeded a little -- like 3 feet. Removed that giant bittersweet and pruned up the rose bush that was underneath and still alive. I carted the debris to the garage and put it in the back of the truck to haul off later. Came back in the house, answered a PM, drank a glass of iced tea and ate a banana.

I am sitting here repeatedly checking my email to see if an offer on a house has been accepted. That's my excuse anyway.

what's college algebra involve? can he get help with a tutor? been a long while since I did any of that, but I'd try helping him if I knew what was in his coursework. algebra's easy - just have to teach yourself how to approach the problem. learn the strategies and every problem is just a variation of the basic strategy. if he practices the basic problem variations this summer - an hour a day - he'll be good to go for the fall.

college alegrbra is NOT easy if you are not mathematically inclined my dear. A lot of late nights and hired tutors got DH and I through it in college!! My friend failed so many times, she finally got a learning disability waiver so she could finish out her major!

Sooo The last 2 weeks have been the craziest and hardest I've ever been through.

Last week: Surprise! I'm preggo. I'm not only preggo, but 11 weeks along.
During the ultrasound, they detected some issues, go in for extensive testing 2 days later.
On friday, we find out we're having a girl (I have 3 boys), but there are some major issues. I have everyone praying for me, 'cause this little girl needs to be a fighter.

This week: Uncle has a major heart attack on Sunday and yesterday my SFIL died.

We're leaving for Disney on Saturday and I'm hoping getting away from everything will relieve some stress.

Monday I turn 35 and I'm feeling old.

I wanted to drop in and say Hi. Sorry, I'm just a ray of sunshine today.

I believe everyone has their strenghts and weaknesses. Not everyone is the same or learns as easily.
It's easy to think that though if you are good at something I guess
I had some of the most amazing teachers throughout school. I was even on the math team in the 3rd grade. When algebra and geometry started, I just kept falling further and further behind. My good friend's father was my algebra teacher and he worked with me endlessly and patiently. Some people just aren't good at certain things, math is mine.

leaving for another chest CT in a little bit. let's hope this gives them a clear picture of the continuing accident damage.

and may i just say, i despise paying bills. these bills are killing me. just paid a tax bill and our cell bill and wiped out a chunk of change. and it's only june 3rd. still got so many more to pay. i need a miracle this month.

College algebra can be tough...
I know lots of students that are in the honor society who dropped algebra a few times before they were able to pass with a good grade. The instructor can make a world of difference. Your son might want to check out Ratemyprofessor.com

Math is not one of my strong points.
I spent lots of hours on my statistics classes.
I like the communication classes - where you just write papers stating what you think. But you can't BS on a math test...lol

The good news is that our pastor & his wife have loaned us a vehicle until Monday, and if we still need one after that we have a friend who is going on vacation next week and will loan us their car.

I feel so behind. We listed the house yesterday. We are excited but now we need to get DH a job. He resume is looking pretty good so time to get it out there.

We'll be heading out to Target today but I dont even think I know what is going on for this weeek. I do need sunblock though. We are going to the beach the week after next for a short stay.

Public schools aren't licensed to practice medicine. They can't put your child on drugs. I'm hearing that many are trying though.

Well, not going to the beach. But to a water park on Sat for a Skillet concert, then getting the party barge out finally for fishing on Sun. So I'm going to have to read up on that sunscreen deal.

But it's so much easier to deal with a classroom full of little zombies rather that a herd of normal, active somewhat obnoxious children. Gee, you have a problem with that?

Not that I know of. If you have enough kids it might be worth it to get a pass. When do you plan on going? PM me if you want...I may be able to get you in beings I have a pass for up to 5 kids and 1 guest and only have to show my id KWIM?

Just had the yummiest dinner - grilled chicken, potatoes and onions in foil packets on the grill, blueberry muffins, and a green salad. And every last bit of it was free with coupons or using up overage. Funny how that makes it all taste even better.

I am getting excited about traveling next week! We leave on Tues, drive to Charlotte and spend the night with friends, then finish on to AL on Wed. Do it in reverse on Sat. Then the following Sat, I leave with 2 sisters and my kids and we drive to KY. Family vacation (my side) for a week. We are renting a house that has loads of amenities, including a huge pool, and I am looking forward to just sitting around with family and relaxing. The only things on the agenda are the Creation Museum and a train museum.

Ariel, we are going to be gone from daddy on Father's Day, too. I feel bad about that, but he's fine with it. He's such a good daddy. He doesn't have enough vacation time or he'd be coming with us. At least I'll be with my own dad on Father's Day, and that will be special. That hasn't happened in quite a few years.

And I just have to brag on my family a little bit. My two sisters are going to take my ys stuff and set up for me at a church sale on the Sat I'm gone, just to earn more money for me for our vacation. I thought that was so special of them to offer to do that, and it made me so thankful.

Anyone have tips for me.. for some reason, on my last 3 target trips, I have had problems with my coupons scanning I am printing on a laser printer.. well, one time it was my sisters ink jet and I thought that was the problem.. he ink was very heavy and it seemed to run the bar codes together..

But, the last 2 times were a laser.. my toner is pretty new, and I haven't changed the settings.. I don't know if it is something with my printer, or the "site" I am printing from..

It could be the target registers some too because one trip I actually checked the coupon on the price checker and it scanned, but it wouldn't scan at the register..
