$hit like this drives me mad. This is totally illegal. I used to teach special ed and you could NEVER EVER say something like this to a parent.

Schools should not be making threats or practicing medicine. I wonder what the school diagnosed the child with, such that he required drugs. If push comes to shove, let me know, I have some advice. You do not have to comply with requests to drug your child. I just hate to hear stories like this. Why don't schools follow their own bullying policies?

LOL. You succintly said what I struggled for 15 minutes to say. It *is* illegal. I carry a recorder to school when something's up (it's not illegal to record in my state).

YEARS ago when I was teaching there had been a big lawsuit that had come against the district I was working for. We could suggest that a parent discuss their child's behavior with their doctor. But we could never, ever even begin to offer a diagnosis or suggest that I child needs to be medicated.

It is so sad to see how many kids are over medicated in our country. That being said, I do believe that there ARE kids who truly need meds and are able to be functioning members of society with them. I honestly think sooooooo many behavior and attention problems could be solved by improving dietary and sleep habits in kids. Ok, off my soapbox.

In other news, I'm going to avoid those da** airwick B2G1 coupons like the plague now. They haven't worked right in SOOOOOOO long. I'm tired of dealing with them. I give up.

Good evening!!

Went out tonight with DH and 2 of the kids.. my oldest DD had a party for a friend of hers.. We are getting a little more relaxed with letting her go off and do things. She is a good kid and we are very protective. She will be 17 at the end of summer and hasn't been on a date. We wouldn't let her ride with anyone for the longest time.. but, she has a guy friend (who she says is just a friend.. he actually has a girlfriend) and he comes over to our house quite often. He seems like a good Christian boy.. We let him drive her to the party tonight. She was out until 11:15 and I tell ya it was scary. I made her call me every step of the way laugh out loud

Anyway, after dinner DH and I went target hopping.. Had a few good runs.. Needed to get some TP while the charmin GC deal was going. Found some of those packs with the coupons inside Big Grin Also got some of the usual stuff.. The nexcare MQ scanned fine, but the stupid target coupon beeped for me on every kind I got.. Why can't target code those things better.. First store I went to, the cashier refused my JF shampoo coupon because it wouldn't scan.. He handed it back.. but he k1 every beeper without a glance.. second store, found a cashier who scanned like a jedi.. when I finished, he told me how good I did and that he wanted to take a picture with me LMAO wish that store wasn't so far away or I would go there more often.. can't justify 45-50 minute car trips just to hit a target!

All in all a good night of targeting and hanging with the family. My youngest DD was in heaven cause we went to chickfila and she got ice cream and was able to play in the play ground thing.. She has been begging to slide all day and it was just too hot to go outside..

Anyway, I am off to bed soon. My oldest is taking the SAT tomorrow!

I tried to tell her they couldn't do that, but she is hard headed and didn't listen. Part of me thinks she was looking for an excuse to medicate him anyways instead of having to "deal" with him. The thing is that *I* think his biggest problem is an attention thing - as in he's not getting enough good attention and direction. He doesn't really seem to be more hyper or active than an average boy (in fact, my dd could run circles around him), and his "annoying" qualities are ones you see in a kid that just wants you to pay attention to them and/or hasn't had enough adult direction. It's very sad and unfortunate.

In other news... I'm tired. Been up since 4:30ish with Mavis. She has climbed all over me... flooded her dipe... pooed her dipe... squealed and squeaked and generally been happy but loud and most importantly - non-sleeping. *laugh*
