My big Zeek is still scratching himself silly. If it's not allergies, maybe it's anxieties. It's kinda making me Crazy but he seems pretty happy otherwise. (This will be resolved someday.)

Kind of a fun little prize I just won. I messed up the screen shot because I'm trying to figure out how to nix the browser at the top (if anyone has any advice, let me know).

Exhausting weekend...very busy. I woke up sick about 1 PM. Went to WOK anyway. Hope everyone had a great and thoughtful Memorial weekend.

My sisters dog Mikie is an itchy dog. always scratching or nibbling or licking!!! Drives my nuts. We havent figured out what to do for him but his skin is really dry (toxic slobers) We think it may be stress since if we get onto him he does it worse. The more we bath him with oat meal shampoo it seems to help but we cant seem to get it under control either. Dont know what kind of dog he is. She thinks hes part beagle and I say hes a type of Jack Russel terrier

You can try adding a teaspoon of fish oil to Mikes food everyday. It might help, and certainly wouldn't hurt

I've heard of adding oil to a dog's food, however I haven't looked into it yet...fish oil? Hubby thought this would give him the runs. Maybe I'll do some reading today...I don't want to put the vet's daughter through college.

Another thing that "can" cause itching is the dog food. Also switching brands of food can cause problems. If you just buy what's on sale and switch up abruptly , some dogs don't handle that well. Best to slowly add the "new" brand to the old, increasing a little over about a week. That came from a really great vet in my area

Morning. My black lab went through that a couple years ago, even chewing himself bloody. Tried everything, took him to the vet and he put him on prednisone for a short time and also told us to try iams lamb & rice. He said if that does not work we would have to test him for allergies. It must have been the food cause he's been great since. After a while we used different iams food just to see, (he got bored) but nothing, so we just use iams but switch up the flavors every now and then.
P.S. He also asked us about table scraps, which we had never given him. Hope this helps.
