Almost done packing and that scares me a little! Surely I'm forgetting something - or LOTS of somethings!!

Had a fantastic run at Target this morning, except for the super-slow cashier. I love that they give certain people jobs like that, but when you're in a hurry and you don't realize until you have already unloaded your entire cart that maybe, just maybe, its gonna take a little longer, well, its kind of a bummer. Teehee He was great, though, even gave me the .05 bag credit because he put everything in my big ol' tub I got. Speaking of which, not sure if you all saw my post in deals, but all my summer stuff was 75%, despite being signed at 50%. Of course I didn't realize it until the register, but I am hoping to make one last trip tonight and will grab whatever fruit snacks are left!!

OK, off to finish packing and doing laundry!

And TM4D, I hope everything works out just perfectly for you guys!

Wave I don't think I can justify ANOTHER trip to Target this week even if the summer stuff is 75% Teehee

M2C, Whee can't wait to watch the progress!!!

TM4D, that's very exciting! We are still on the fence about selling this house and buying a lot/house by the water. Decisions, decisions...

GT, reheated chicken gets that weird flavor to me so I eat it cold or toss it in with brown rice and veggies for a quick stirfry!

Thanks for the encouragement ladies hug I feel a bit better this morning. I made some lists last night....thinks I want to doublecheck/measure in the new one if we can get back in to look at it again today.....a list of things that need to take top priority to do in this house and things to price-check at Menards, etc. Feeling slightly less overwhelmed by it all and like a plan is starting to form either way. Still didn't sleep well last night....the wheels just won't stop a'turnin' and as a result I can't sleep up or wake up a gazillion times just thinking about it all laugh out loud Should hopefully know more today.
so exciting and scary at the same time! hug

Well, I'll spare you all the extensive and boring details of all that has transpired today, but we have an offer in. I am fully expecting a counter-offer and we should know something by noon tomorrow at the latest. The good thing is that in this area is that it typically doesn't take long to hear back on most 'normal' offers.

Congrats on all that you are doing! Emotions being all over the place is A-OK!! Go with it and don't over think it. Your brain is trying to absorbs all the information..are we doing this or are we doing that, but if we do this, then that could happen, but if we don't do this, then.....etc, etc, etc.......
Could not have said this better myself, this is exactly how I feel!!

TM4DCONGRATS!! Don't worry.. your emotions will be going crazy.. just think about how much you will love the other house!! HUGS!! ....
Thanks Smilie hug We saw it again this morning and this helped --- just verified how much I love it!

TM4D -- can't wait to hear you got your house sold! Yeah, yeah, I know, it takes time! Now, which of those little towns are you moving to? (Hey, positive thinking!)
We are wanting to move to Springville, about 10 min. outside of Marion! So it isn't far but it is more out-in-country and WAY different than what we have now --- which is corner of a busy street near the center of town. There's pros and cons to both Smilie DH is a country boy at heart Wink

hi creatures!
M2c... Yahoo!
TM4D... congratulations! there are room planners you can access online, that have the whole grid paper effect and so you can move around furniture/try out furniture, paint colors etc. very useful!

i also like using a grid notebook, and setting it to scale - like 1" box = 1 foot, and then it's so easy to try to plan furniture or think how to place things etc.

another trip to T... justifying: i thought we were in simplify mode? Confused did I miss the memo on becoming a shopaholic again, cos I'd be glad to fall off the wagon laugh out loud

totally agree on chicken reheating flavor. that's what always used to happen for us.
lately i've managed to evade it by a) using a particular brand of chicken and b) i cook chicken on low-medium one side till it is opaque 1-2 mins, then ditto other side, and then immediately make sure there is liquid in the pan. simmer chicken in liquid for 4-5 mins. done.
if the chicken is fork tender the first day, with no chicken smell, when i heat it WITH LIQUID the second day, there is no strange chickeny smell or taste. so the key for me has to make sure the protein doesn't overcook on day one.
but until i discovered this recently, i was eating it cold also.

shake head Still nothing definitive yet. We offered, they countered, we countered back this evening and they have until noon tomorrow to respond. Good luck to me on the whole sleep thing tonight laugh out loud *If* we can get an offer accepted we need to work HARD to get the things done around here that are needed and start packing up the clutter so we can sell this house as fast as possible. Trouble is I can really only do so much until I know the offer's been accepted because I'm not going to start packing crap only to have to move it back in here! And did I mention dh doesn't have another day off until next Thurs??

Faint

Waiting is so hard.

I used my smallest crock, scraped all the jellied chicken juicy stuff out of the container, added about 3/4 - 1 cup hot water, plopped the bird in and set it on low. It came out good according to DH and Mom. (I don't like chicken). It smelled good, looked normal, was juicy and didn't appear rubbery. And I had lots of nice drippings that made good gravy.

Been setting outside tonight. The humidity moved out and it was quite nice. Supposed to get hot tomorrow. I'm tired and headed to bed. Night all.

morning! Wave

i am off to target to check on mini summer seasonal but i am pretty sure it will hit 90% off tomorrow. usually 2 days 75% and then 2 days 90% is the usual pattern here.

but high volume store was 80% off yesterday and nothing good left.EEK! i'll bet they were testing and that's probably what's going to happen for xmas cuz it was successful. well except for that back endcap facing the wall of snowcone makers, ice cream makers and blenders. they forgot to sign it. i bought a big ice cream maker and a small ice cream maker and i haven't given them away yet or taken them out of the box so trying hard to resist buying more...maybe i will buy the salt if it goes to 90%.

Yawn morning...

I've had a reheated (from yesterday) cup of coffee. Do I want another two cups, or am I done with coffee today?

I haven't shopped anywhere since Monday. Work (annual inventory) is kicking my butt. I watch over 2 different hand receipts. One is down to 5 items out of over 900. The other still has over 100 to go (but was at 1400 to start with). They are due the day AFTER my surgery, so I'm trying to get it done early.

Slept well last night, probably because I was in the lab over 8 times yesterday, and in 3 other offices downstairs as well (active for me with a bad knee).
