Thanks GT...yeah I am not finding that the more expensive ones have any better reviews than the less expensive ones so that was kind of why I was wanting opinions anyway. Good to know. At this point I think we will be spending countless moments in awestruck wonder at pretty much any dishwasher anyway we are so thrilled that we will have space for one LMAO

I am slumping too.... not sure what to blame. But I make nice lists of what I pretend I will be getting...

Yes. But I am not sure it works for the ones tht are less than $10.

Do you have a magic trick for the $8 ones? I have only figured out how to do $10 and above.

So the personal solicitation was about 4hair asking for Ensure Qs? How is that any different from someone saying they could use extras of XYZ coupon?
How was she supposed to use local resources or ask for help from government agencies?

I'll call the drs. office tomorrow and ask what they are gonna do (provide crutches, etc) and get a lead on the pads. I really don't want ya'll to send me some, as I may need them next year for the other knee.
if i send them, i wouldn't expect you to return them. i would send you the whole pr of crutches but i think the cost of shipping would be close to just buying a new pr. and finding a box to fit them would be difficult. if you didnt mind used pads, i think i could ship them for a little over $5 and be my gift to you for getting your knee fixed. let me know.

not that i'm suggesting you do so, b/c i'm happy to send you the pads, but i'll bet you could find used crutches at the salvation army or thrift stores. i'm sure lots of people donate them after using them. it's packrats like my parents who stowed them in the basement for 20 yrs.

and i saw you slip in the other knee, you sly dog, you! did you see the dr about it? what did they say? cuz it sounds like you have a plan!

Anybody have recommendations on dishwashers??? This is DEFINITELY something going in soon after we move when we have the money. We've not had one in this house; there's just no room in the kitchen. We will also need some new living room furniture. Our main TV and couch/love seat are going downstairs to our rec/family room...and dd will get to have a large play area too Smilie So our upstairs living room I really have nothing planned...it is just going to be fairly open until we can afford some things and I can figure out what I even want. Not even sure that I'm putting a TV in there - kind of wanting to keep it minimal I think, more like a sitting area. My mom has the most comfortable big soft leather chair and ottoman ever. Kind of leaning toward one of those. Anybody have something or a combo of somethings they really like??? Planning tou make our own coffee/end tables if/when we want them....and any other wood furniture for that matter.
Bosch and the kind that can do half loads. my friend runs just the top rack every night. can't even hear it running. or at least get one w/o a food grinder. hard to watch tv or movie when the dishwasher is running. at the beach condo i was running the dishwasher each nite so just unload clean in the morning. until bff got irritated that she couldn't hear the tv. so one night i ran it after everyone went to bed. bff got up earlier than me, checked a bowl that happened to be stained, not dirty, and ran the dishwasher again!

all my friends have bosch. just make sure its installed correctly so water drains properly and doesn't back up. they are all happy.

i have a friend who was very happy w/ her leather sofas from ikea. not that expensive, doesn't hurt when the kids destroy it. bff is still twitching over the permanent marker her ds used on her 4K sofa. dunno what she was thinking. she didn't want to pay good money for slipcovers. she'd rather put it towards a new sofa. but that's not happening until the kids get older. so till then she has to suffer.

this will be the sofa for my family room eventually-
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog...S99846774/

i've seen and like the ivory but i'm afraid of getting such a light color.
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog...S49846776/

it's very comfortable. the half moon ottoman is really cute. at that end of the sofa is a half wall. i will either put a chest for storing electronics cords, dvd's etc or the matching chair-
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog...s/20107496

depending on the measurements of the room, maybe the swivel recliner-
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog.../60107499/

above mentioned friend got 2 white sofas from ikea (which ended up being pinkish) and even w/ 2 kids was very happy and after 10+ yrs was thinking of just replacing them w/ white leather sofas again after they started cracking and one got a hole.

and didn't i foretell the future re: diy furniture? Big Grin

sleepy. goodnite!

Did I mention that in between all of the chaos here my brother booked a trip for my mom, me, him, and his wife to New York city??!!! He is going to a class there with one of the top wedding photographers in the US and decided he would take us all Big Grin It is during what we affectionately call "birthday week" in our family (all of our bdays fall between the 22-28 of Oct.) I can't wait! This will only ever be the second time in my life I've gone by airplane laugh out loud We are staying right near Times Square Smilie Pretty excited, we don't get out much Roll Won't have dd or dh with me for this trip.

Faint I just looked up Bosch....the cheapest one I saw was just under $500 (which is really about the highest I would want to go though most of them are much less) and no spectacular reviews. Love the drawer idea, especially since our family is so small right now; it would likely be more efficient right now....unfortunately those appear out of my price range too. But that's OK, plenty of options within it Wink

I wish Ikea wasn't so far away from here. Those chairs look a lot like what my mom has in her house though she got them at one of the area furniture stores. I have some Ikea curtains that I am just in love with (got them on my trip last April/May) and they were so cheap and versatile....http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog...1980....It is hard to tell in Ikea's pic but they are a flowing mesh-like material, so whimsical and wispy, here's another:

Right now in our bedroom I have one panel on each window and they are tied in a knot in the middle kinda like this:

The living room is pretty small. I would also like to have room *somewhere* in the house for my digital piano. I really need to get some practice time in at home and right now there's just nowhere for it in this house. Thinking that may or may not end up in the living room depending on what we have left for room downstairs after getting the family room and play area for dd set up. DD's room is a lot bigger in this house so we may be able to keep a lot more of her toys in there than what we are able to now.

Here are some garden photo's taken this morning. We harvested some cucumbers last night. The lettuce is our second set of lettuce and it's a new variety. The first lettuce we had we harvested about 5 times before they finally bolted.

I left a package of New York frozen texas toast on the counter for an hour by accident. Is it safe to refreeze?

nice veggies bunnies.

You can have the hot peppers. I come from the Bland Family... my Dad didn't like spicy, so we couldn't even put all the taco dry mix into the meat...

meat skeeves me, but bread should be fine. It's so darned hot here, it's always defrosted by the time we get home from the grocery store, and I just toss it back in the freezer.

oooh, maybe you will have time to meet and have a cup of coffee and a slice of new york cheesecake at juniors? would be so much fun! or i could give you all a brief native new yorker tour. not that i'm in ny anymore so things have changed, but some things still stay the same.

if you have any questions at all or need any help, don't hesitate to ask. i lived in ny for 33 yrs and still go regularly. almost all our immediate family is there so we have to go all the time.

and i love ikea. esp for cooking tools. so much fun to look around.
