Hi all! I went to T bright and early at a store that went 75% on toys Wednesday last go around and it was still 50%. *sigh* Did find out it will be tomorrow according to the markdown team.

Also used my $5 off IHOP yesterday and they claimed fraud. Good thing I had my $25 IHOP gift card from T. Wink

I hope everyone is having good runs and a good summer. I'm working through some issues with my pregnancy, so I can't shop as much as I like. I hate knowing I'm missing the good deals, kwim? Frown

After getting him to calm down I asked him where he heard it from, he said school. I asked him why he would call his brother that and he said cuz he thought it meant that someone was scared.. Like calling someone a chicken! Ugh!! On a different note , is it bad that I really really really didn't wanna tell another sd'er where I shop at? I want my store to myself.. Lol

I loved the stripes, didn't want the blah black though I did consider the red. The sides/ back of monkey toddler's Volo are silver and the seating surface is a different stripe. Yes, I like stripes. Embarrassment

I just don't know where to begin with this packing bizness.

3 weeks from tomorrow is the big day. I KNOW I need to get going on the non-essentials it is just so hard to know where to start and then compound that with the fact that I am trying to manage these two kids w/dh on his wonky work schedule Crazy And trying to make and take important phone calls and run errands and all the normal stuff as well.

Aye. Guess I better get off of SD.

.... I missed my Keurig when I was on the road too.. I tell ya, I don't even enjoy starbucks as much as I do my Keurig coffee and Torani syrups.. plus, when I bought a cup yesterday, I couldn't believe how much SB is these days!.....
hug I am sorry life is super rough for you right now! Please let me know if there's anything I can do!

Can totally relate on the coffee. I'd just rather have my Keurig coffee with my cream and SF syrups, etc. And then when I see the SB price I about vomit. Yuck. I will pay for Caribou coffee when I am around one - they have some different stuff I can't replicate well at home and I am rarely near one. Nearest one to here is IA city and I don't even go there often.

I am a Scentsy rep and I bought that same cupcake warmer for dd's room! her room is pink and green so it's perfect. I put the 'Happy Birthday' scent in it so it smells like a cupcake too. DD loves it :hea rt:

I like "fuffin" bedding laugh out loud
Smilie I smelled bday cake last night and couldn't decide if I liked it or not. Does it smell like cake baking in the oven by chance?? It had a burnt scent to it when I smelled it and I didn't like that so I didn't get it but some of them I don't like in the tester things but then when I smell them in someone's home I like them. Dontknow I got Red Delicious (bring back my bar I think), Honey Oatmeal somethin-or-other, and some pretty pink girl one (yeah that narrows it down Teehee) last night. I have a ton of scents just one warmer though so I got the cupcake warmer, one other for the new house, and the few scents. My faves are Mochadoodle and Blueberry Cheesecake drool

tm4d- if you want to see if you can go up to the crown of the statue of libery, need to book soon. 2 month waiting list. also the entire interior will be closed for for security upgrades for a yr sometime in the fall.
http://beta.local.yahoo.com/only-...-monkeysee

btw- if you do the ferry to the statue of liberty, no need to do the staten island ferry.
My brother checked for the crown a few days ago and we are already too late Frown Oh well. I am forwarding all of your info. on to him Smilie Luckily he is somewhat familiar with SD so he doesn't think it too crazy when I keep telling him, "this person on SD told me........"

1. for the subway, the new york mta offers 7 day unlimited ride passes. that's the cheapest way to travel around as a tourist, since you don't pay per ride. you can find more info here [mta.info]

2. statue of liberty... they have waitlists, because people cancel all the time. for example we had tickets for november 2009 and couldn't go, so ended up canceling. cancellations are generally last minute, so it's best to ask the park service to put you on a waitlist.

3. museums... if you guys like art or fashion, that sort of thing, i would highly recommend the following:
a) The Frick Collection - it's an old mansion, with a gorgeous garden inside, and this huge private art collection. It has a gorgeous collection of paintings by old masters, plus a fabulous old furniture collection. And the mansion itself is a sight to see. You can find more info here [frick.org]

b) The Metropolitan Museum of Art - the Met of course is the gold standard of museums. Not only does they have an excellent and extensive collection of fine art, but they do some great fashion exhibits too. Currently they have one on Alexander McQueen, showcasing the dresses he created over the years. Totally worth seeing! You can learn more here [metmuseum.org]

c) Guggenheim and MoMA -- Both house modern and contemporary art. I like the Museum of Modern Art better, because it has some of the masters of Modern Art, and a vast collection of photography, design, sculptures, paintings, illustration. It's really a very cool and inspiring place. In the sculpture garden they have something called The Wish Tree, set up by Yoko Ono, it showcases work from artists around the world. Inside the museum they have paintings by Picasso, Dali, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Monet, Matisse, Gauguin, and many more. They have a large Andy Warhol collection, a renowed Lichtenstein collection and more. And there's a modern design exhibition going on currently that looks very promising!

.... I didn't season the griddle either. It has little rubber/silicone some kind of bumper dots on it, so I was afraid to do the traditional oil and heat in oven for hours. I just washed it with soap and water and then smeared it with canola oil. (Canola simply because it's what I had and I was low on shortening) The hamburgers were a ground chuck and ??? blend from a local butcher so there was NO fat in them. I did leave a thin coat on the griddle and they didn't stick.
...
is this a cast iron griddle? never heard of a cast iron griddle with rubber/silicon dots on it. i would think those would self-destruct with the heat.

.. Lol , well if he had said "that's a cute p.u.s.s.y cat" while pointing to a cat it would have been fine but that's not how he was using it. He was playing Xbox with his brother and he called him a p.u.s.s.y. Gotta love the crap they hear in school : /

Hi everyone, just doing a quick drive-by.

My workload has been doubled, with no extra compensation. I rarely even have a chance to sit during the day. Makes me very tired and grumpy! Miss you all!

and the story is beginning to make a whole lot more sense now. Embarrassment

you know it's amazing, kids hear adult say things and they just pick it up, without realizing.
i never fail to be shocked these days walking down a city street or at a store - you'll hear teenagers using the f-word, or mf, and of course s-word etc like it's punctuation. we've just become so coarse.

childhood story: we must have been about 4 yo... when sis heard dad on the phone. he had just discovered that a business deal had gone really bad cos a partner had double-crossed him. in an unguarded moment daddy said something out really loudly and angrily on the phone.

fast forward a few hours, my sis and i were having a fight (kids...) and she looks at me and says "you bloody basket!"
i start bawling.
mum hears her, and says 'what did you just call your sister?"
sis: "bloody basket".
mum: "don't ever say that! you're insulting your parents, that's a horrible thing to say!"
sis looks at mum all wide-eyed and confused: "all i said was bloody basket cos she has blood in her and she's round like a basket. what's so wrong with that?"

mum, stifling a smile, says where did you learn that? i never want you to say it again! it's an insult to your parents!
sis: if it's so bad, how come dad said it on the phone today?
then, she starts bawling.

poor mum, she had two bawling girls on her hand, so she went to my Dad to chew him out, and he burst out laughing.
