Eeewww canned gravy? I didn't even know there was such a thing. Sick

Lumpy gravy usually occurs when the flour isn't mixed in properly.

Yep, pretty much.
That's funny. She thinks she is like the ultimate southern cook. A lot of her food is chunky and freaks me out. I don't know what's in her mac & cheese. I was raised in Alabama, but my parents didn't really cook & eat much southern food.

Mine isn't that bad. I use water instead of milk and just add extra flour, and I don't over do it on the grease portion.....just enough for flavor. And a bit of Texas Pete will add more salt flavor so I don't have to add the normal amount of salt.

Yeah, if she has lumps in her gravy, or her mac and cheese for that matter, she's doing it wrong.

I hate sausage unless it's in sausage balls. I have no idea if sausage balls are a regional thing are not. They are really good though!

Roll Poor Refy and his old sausage.

I like pepper gravy (which most seem to call it white gravy) and I make a damn good one too.

I'm going to make some walgreens runs anyway, I suppose I could pick up some.

Though it's too hot to heat up the oven to 450 degrees and then heat up the stove for half an hour on top of it. laugh out loud

The milk kills most of the flavor you get from pepper so you have to add more of it. It's a waste of pepper and gives the gravy an "off" flavor you don't recognize until you try it made differently. By adding water and a little more flour you get the proper flavor and won't go back to milk if you've got a decent pallet.

Well my grandmother had me try adding water to eggs instead of milk (for scrambled eggs) the last time at her house, and she swore it was just as good... yeah, it totally wasn't.

There' no way I would waste good sausage and make gravy with water, eeewwwww. laugh out loud
