Passing the torch

Ok figured I'd better post this now while it's still early enough, lol.

I've had a Lot of fun doing the Secret Santa these past couple years. However last year it took a surprising amount of hours away from my family and I promised that I most likely wouldn't do it again this year. With Patrick out of town for a lot of October/November/December I know the kids would rather I spend more time with them than so much time doing this. I talked with them again and I really think I need to step down. Also some personal stuff going on that will take up some of my time. I feel kinda sad because I did enjoy running it and meeting new people and reconnecting with older members but I feel like this is what I need to do.

Whoever is chosen to run it this year, I'll be more than happy to help if they have any questions or anything. And I'll definitely participate...to be honest I kinda missed it, though I always thought it would be strange to pair myself up with someone laugh out loud Anyway I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner, I kept going back and forth about it and finally decided I just needed to bite the bullet and post this, lol.

Thank you for the past couple of years and for letting me run it. I had a lot of fun. Smilie

This thread took a turn to evil. I approve.

It's the Lounge. Did you expect a different outcome?

Not everything turns evil. Given the lounge, this thread could now be about touchpads.

It would be a requirement to remain in the lounge.
It's been fun, but I guess it's time to get out of the Lounge.

Anyhow. I'm still volunteering even if Ray, TS and Pig all decide to participate.

hey autumn, i just wanna wish you the best in whatever's going on in your personal life, even if it's just spending more time with the family. hug
Thanks Serra hug

Autumn, you have done a great job in running this. Your hard work is appreciated by many here.

As for the next person to take over, I think maybe have people who are serious volunteer then have everyone vote on who they want to run it would be the most fair option. Since this is not a SD backed event though, it will be up to all of you to decide this.
Thanks hug Yeah voting would probably be the best...just so there wouldn't be some of the "Why didn't I get to pick" stuff that sometimes goes on with different things.
Quote from serra :
agreed. the most important things in your life can be so easily neglected because you know they're there and they're around but i've heard people sadly telling *me* that i spend too much time on the computer.
Yeah. Last year when we were at the pumpkin patches and fall festivals and stuff...when I started checking my email on the phone and trying to answer back while I was out with the kids...I started thinking "Ya know...maybe this should be my last year doing this.." lol. Not that I minded doing it, cause really I did enjoy it, but you know what I mean.

That's it. I'm taking it back and I'm gonna require whoever gets you has to give you a touchpad, a book about touchpads, a card about touchpads, and whatever other touchpad crap is out there. Flex Stick Out Tongue

I should have done this years ago.

I am not sure I will be able to. I am looking at a 5k bill for cataract surgery for my dog. Money will be very tight this year.

At least the shoes are greased up with bacon grease. Easier to fit into.

See? It's a win-win. High Five

Hmm it would look badly for an ophthalmologist to have a blind dog...wait for the surgery then take her back. Evillaugh

After a week of seeing how spoiled she is, he would be begging to return her.
