If you guys are thinking about buying nail polish with Sephora GCs,this [sephora.com] looks like a good deal.
I ordered that during F&F for my friend who's favorite color is purple. However, she is not a fan of crackle polish, and I am not a fan of purple. It is a good buy though.

Just a quick update for you gals before I read my backlog...

I went to the cardiologist today. He says I've been having panic attacks when the palpitations happen. But it's benign. And can be helped with some magnesium supplements.

So basically, he told me to not take Worker's Comp because it would go on my record. And I really really really don't want worker's comp ANYWAY. I think I'm going to not answer any of my calls from the Worker's Comp people and tell my HR that I'm already in treatment, although they made me sign something that acknowledged that an "injury" happened at work.

I told them that I don't want to take Worker's Comp and they're not taking that for an answer. So any tips on how I can go about that. They're frankly causing me more stress because they're forcing me into something I don't want.
You do not have to sign anything...ever. My supervisors are always shoving papers saying sign this...I read the paperwork and make copies, but never sign them. They always write "refused to sign". If you are not comfortable, do not sign anything. Especially when they are pressuring you. Definitely read the document carefully, but I suggest, again, do not sign!

Azn, I'm glad they figured out what's going on, and it's not something scary-serious! hug Have they recommended someone to see for follow-up or given you advice on how to handle it? I'm sorry you're stuck in such a toxic environment at work though...I don't know much about the whole workplace thing, but from what I understand, your work can file a claim, but you are not required to accept the benefits. I would perhaps put a statement in writing refusing the benefits (maybe include a note from your doctor/cardiologist saying that you are fit to work), and get it notarized before you give it to your HR department (making sure to keep at least one copy for yourself). If you want to be doubly sure that they have received it (and can't later deny that they did), maybe send it via USPS with signature confirmation. I will try to think if I know anyone who knows about workers comp laws or works in HR...will get back to you if I find out anything else. hug
The only thing I would change is sending it USPS First-Class Certified Mail with Return Receipt. Signature Confirmation only provides a digital signature. The Return Receipt provides a physical card to be returned to you with said signature. I doubt they would refuse it; however, if they did, keep the envelope intact and ensure that USPS has stamped it as REFUSED.

I figured HR would try to pull some stunt - I know it's annoying to look for a lawyer, but sometimes a quick consultation with one can be invaluable. Definitely do not do what HR wants you to do. As a whole, those departments are there to block any potential liabilities, and as you know, those moves are often directly against the interest of the individual employee.
Very true, but in my letter, I'd probably write something "after consulting with legal counsel." That will scare the shit out of them. I'm kind of annoyed and I swear I read the whole thing and that's not what it stated, but I think I was biased, based on what HR told me. I just won't speak to HR about this matter and write a draft letter to run by you girls.

I usually don't sign anything ever, but HR glared at me and said "are you not going to sign it?" And I said "no" and she was like "you're not admitting to any liability."

She even told me to sign the day of.

So they'll get what they deserve. I'm wondering if there will be any backlash though after I go through with all this...Hm...

I'm debating if I should wait to throw down with this, AFTER I get a new job, and am ready to leave? Leave them in the dust!! Any thoughts?

placed an order maybe 5 hours ago and decided to check on its status just for the heck of it and its already been processed! maybe because i only ordered 2 things..

someone asked about the free scarf i think. the catalog i got said its valid until 12/22 but when i searched the scarf # all colors were OOS:/ glad i picked up two!
that was me! thanks - i was searching for the scarf but couldn't find it. guess i should be glad i got the ones i got.

i went to cvs today and they had some more 75% cosmetics - the rest of the sally hansen natural beauty line, and some revlon colorstay e/s, concealer, and foundation in a tube. i didn't really look at the revlon stuff (so i wouldn't be so tempted to buy) but i did pick up sally hansen foundation in sandy beige - i have this in tawny beige (when the darker colors got clearanced at cvs before) but i think sandy is more my color.

Don't you hate it, when that happens? I almost got wrapped up in it myself. I was seriously considering buying one, then it occurred to me that we're getting ready to tile or put down hard wood in our whole house in the next couple months. Doh It's really sad, when you have a hard time passing up a deal on something you'd get no use out of. Facepalm I guess I could have gotten it to vacuum the few rugs I'll put down. shake head laugh out loud
I dunno, i gotta say i absolutely LOVE using my Dyson on the tile it gets everything up. I do not own a broom except for outside. I havent owned an indoor broom for 7 years, it drove the workers crazy in the spring bc they forgot their's. My ceilings are 10 and 12 feet high and the hose attachment where brutal in small spaces is amazing with a little tippy toe action for the ceilings. This baby sucks up so much crap it's unbelievable. i am super clean but when i see how much it has in it i feel filthy! LOL

Yes electric toothbrushes changed my life AMAZING!

Azn i wish i was there to help you get organized and create an " ikea" room! I hope things get better for you, i am glad you are focusing on fixing it! It will get better. Smilie i dont know what kind, but therapy might help i know several people that work in crazy enviroments and it has helped them so much. Its not the end all be all but it helped.

Jade, i dont think i could ever handle being pregnant again, they say after a while you forget all the crummy stuff abt being pregnant....its been almost five years and i still get phantom morning sickness esp around the time of year when i had it. LOL

I have been trying to keep up even though i dont post much but it has been wild around here....ok wild for here! Haha

I absolutely love the dyson too. It's totally worth the extra money. I'm not big on loving cleaning products either laugh out loud.

Awww Taryn i'm sorry! 18 lbs is a big deal. Our bodies really do have a mind of their own: there are certain things we can manipulate by the way we think and there others like weight that has zero effect on. Some people can eat right and work like crazy and never drop a pound others can eat like ther is no tomorrow and they cannot keep weight on. Regardless of anything though that is a big feat...i bet you look great and a 6 or 8 is not big at all!!! I dont know if this will help and i dont want it to sound preachy but remember you dont have control over what anyone else says or does, you only have control over you. Always choose to think what makes you happiest do not dwell on what makes you sad or angry. hug
