i was b12 deficient also, the one time they tested for it. they haven't tested for it again... i probably need to get it checked again. and fwiw i don't like separate calcium pills. i kinda just take a one-a-day and hope that it covers all...

i thought the nail treatment helped me. my nails seemed to grow so much faster when i was using it. i'd leave my nails naked, and use the oil 1-2x a day for like a week. and it grew a lot!

yes, tall girl with reddish hair! i did not notice purple. i thought it might be your sister when i saw her, but then when i heard her talk i knew it had to be. nod definitely not monotone tho (i don't think you are either!). but it wasn't so much the tone as the mannerisms of speech if that makes sense. just the way she talked.

i've said many times that i could be vegetarian, as i often choose tofu over meat and i looooove mushrooms. however, i hate diets and restrictions, and once i say i'm going to be a vegetarian, that's when i'll suddenly crave meat. Facepalm
she had just done purple after Christmas but it was pissing hr off how much it ran every time she washed it, so she put the red in it instead...the purple may be all gone at this point, but yeah Smilie Next time if she isn't busy you should say hi! People have told me my monotone has gotten better the last couple years...whenever the two of us get together though we have the worst stoner sounding laugh...lol.

I know what you mean. People shouldn't restrict themselves completely, and labels are a problem. I just tell people I'm vegan because that is mostly true...the same way some people might have trouble labeling themselves straight, gay, or bisexual...it's sometimes not that black and white, but you need to tell people something so that they have some sort of frame of reference. But if everyone just tried to eat less meat rather than saying they were never going to eat it ever again, and not guilt trip themselves if they do eat meat, then it would make a big difference. I hate when people who eat meat get on my case for eating dairy...it's like, dude, I'm doing more for the environment than you are by eating meat all the time...

and you poor thing - i wouldn't want to drive in snow either!

i'm a little crazy, going from 70 degree weather (so cal spoils me) to deathly cold wisconsin. leaving tonight - hope i don't turn into a popsicle when i get there!
omg anni, too bad you weren't going last week. It's been RIDICULOUSLY warm, like in the 40's and 50's. Right now it's 3 degrees out though. lol. I don't know about WI but there is close to zero snow in MN right now and it's probably going to melt on Sun Whee

you know, i often forget about sephora in jcp. it's sad - i like it there kuz it's emptier and they're friendly, but i just don't go to jcp that much. yesterday i was actually on my way back to my car from vs (i parked kinda by the h&m) when i spotted the black and white stripes of sephora in jcp and i remembered it was there. laugh out loud but next time i will def say hi! i totally would have if she weren't busy making a sale.

and who cares if you eat dairy. eat what you want! my friend calls herself vegetarian but she eats some fish, but hates most mushrooms, and doesn't like eggplant either i think. she's really just extremely picky but vegetarian was the easiest label for herself.

tho, have you ever heard about dairy being bad for you? they talk about how eliminating dairy helps acne over at MUA - i never would have drawn a connection! there's a whole science behind how it's unnatural for us to drink cow milk and actually bad for us. i just googled it yesterday and was pretty surprised at what i found.

hehe it's ok. it's been so hot here (like, 85 for the rose parade! Faint) that i wouldn't mind seeing some snow. i'm sure i'll be fine... will be in the hotel most of the time prob. i'm just going to visit a friend who is in town for her niece/nephew's birth. i never get to see her and i think i'm going to ask her to be a BM.
oh btw i think we are going with that venue we talked about! i am so excited - it's got its drawbacks but the campus is sooo gorgeous that i think that pro outweighs the cons.

If you're worried about nail growth and health, take biotin. I've taken it for a while now, and the difference in my hair and nails is huge. I have elbow length red hair that breaks easily (because it's fine), but I've had a lot less breakage. I also bite my nails, so it's hard for me to get them healthy...but I'm a lot closer with biotin!

Thanks lig. I rarely eat dairy and have fallen off the wagon with my calcium supplements...I didn't even think about that! I should just drink a glass or two of soymilk every day since it's fortified.
I have the same problem with my nails. It's also due to a calcium deficiency. I despise milk & rarely eat cheese. I need to find a good supplement. I also have a protein deficiency that I need to try to correct somehow.

all these bonks I knew 2012 will not be easy for me

I fall out of regular level of b12 now and then little supplements helps a lot my doc sais as I am vegetarian I might need some shots when it was below lower limits (220 i think)- i took supplements for few months and the next time i went for check up it went up above high limits (700+) such things not biggie but its better to take care of it when we are young and our body can still absorb it that being said, Am I considered young?
Am I too old for my body to absorb it well (43)? I need to take that myself.

Come on down! Biker We were at WDW NY weekend. Many people had on shorts & short sleeves. Not me, of course. laugh out loud I overhead a guy tell his wife he didn't want to go home to the cold. I told my DH it was so nice to be leaving to go home knowing it would be warmer at our house. (We're usually a little warmer than Orlando.) Yes, I was gloating in my good fortune. Hide I know FL isn't for everyone though. It would be nice if everyone could live exactly where they want to be.

I like cheese too much to never eat it again! I never stopped wanting it the same way I stopped wanting meat and eggs. I don't eat it very often though, maybe once a week? I think a lot of people could easily eat vegetarian or close to it, without missing much.
I don't like meat or pork. At the most, I'll eat a bite then pass it to my DH. I wouldn't want to give up fish/seafood though. I also eat poultry on occasion. If it came down to it, I could be vegetarian. What I couldn't give up is sugar. Blush

yeah, dairy is very unnatural for us to eat...obviously, cow's milk is just meant for little cows, and then the thought of adults drinking human beastmilk grosses us out...it's weird! I've heard about eliminating dairy helping with acne nod Also google calcium absorption through cow's milk...our bodies can't absorb it well and it shouldn't be so heavily marketed as being good for you. Statistically, drinking more milk hasn't helped bone health at all...it's been shown to make things worse because people who drink milk are more likely to have a poor diet overall. It's so weird...

You won't see much snow unfortunately! Where in WI will you be? Awesome about the venue!! Which venue on the campus did you pick?

yeah! that was totally what i read yesterday, how it doesn't help and actually is worse for bone health! crazy thought.

i think it's snowing in madison right now (at least that's what weather.com says!) and will be until tomorrow. so there should be a bit i think.

it's so sad i have to pick 1 area of the campus. wish i could pick them all! laugh out loud it's so pretty as a whole that picking 1 makes me sad. Sadwalk dbf and i are torn over that.

Ok, we should both take some calcium supplements, lol. I have a these [amazon.com]...I really like this brand's multivitamins because I can actually feel a difference, lol. I hate milk too. I don't mind soymilk though and can drink it by itself...but the thought of drinking a glass of cow's milk...yuck.

if you eat some animal based foods you should be fine with B12. It's mainly a concern for people who have very little to no animal based foods. Like, we haven't had meat for 4 years and DH doesn't take supplements, and went to the dr. to get everything checked and they said he was on the lower side of what is in a normal range.

I bought my DS a coat for Christmas from Kohls. He's lost the receipt. Will they accept printed online order info for a return?

eta: They have the size he needs online, but it appears they don't do online exchanges.

will you be returning in store? they may take the printed - usually they require the invoice tho. but they're usually pretty nice i think.

if you're exchanging in store you shouldn't need anything.

for online returns, i have no clue. never done one.

i've never done an online return w/o receipt, but i did one w/ the receipt. they scan the barcode on the packing slip then the items...
i think if you bring a print out email w/ the order details, they can probably manually type in the info. at worst, they may give you store credit? Smilie
