if it's a taxable item, even if you get it free, the tax you pay should be on the price pre-coupon.

the other day i redeemed my free haircolor that cost $12. The coupon brought it down to 0; The tax was 1.xx

that's always the general practice

the only time there's no tax is if its like a pack of gum or a grocery item that has never been cooked/heated; even with sodas and stuff, you pay the crv
i was saying wow for kurpee kuz it seems like she paid tax on the pre-riteaid promo price. (so she paid tax on both brushes) i didn't pay tax on the one that was free according to their promo - only the 1 that my coupon adjusted.

Why does the SoCal ad change on Friday? Is RA based there? Even so, seems so random.

it looks like i did though. one set is $13 the other $11. i would think it's how the cash register does it, not in control of the manager that was ringing up.

They shouldn't charge you tax on the free item. I would email corporate and ask why it did that.
I wonder if it does that also with 2 equal items.
I bought vitamins during a b1g1 and only paid tax on the 1st item

Edit: Oops, I think wolfie already said all this. nod

There are some states where you pay tax on precoupon amount and some where you pay tax on postcoupon amount (those states are where couponers can pay absolutely zero out of pocket), I think it just depends on what state you are in. Though they shouldn't charge you tax on an item that is free with store sale, they might still on an item that is free after coupon. I think that is how it works anyway.

It definitely depends state to state and item category if one has to pay sales tax pre-coupon or post-coupon. That also holds true for "free" items via store sale. At my RA, store BOGO ring up as $3.49 and $0.00, so only sales tax on $3.49. However, if your receipt reads $3.49 + $3.49 - $3.49, check the math. You may be paying sales tax on $6.98.

i don't know. it's really dumb. i hate it kuz i still don't get my ads till sunday even tho it starts on friday. Crazy i don't go to RA much so i often forget and wait too long for this.

i guess the good thing is that it starts early on friday, but then i have to go searching for their ad online to see what the new deals are.

Why didn't I pay more attention to The Limited chatter yesterday? Doh I see it's on FP. I'm too lazy to look through it now hoping to find anything left in my size. The next time you all find a great clothing deal, please let me know. I'm still losing weight, which is good. It also means I don't have anything to wear, which isn't so good. shake head

Any opinions on these foundations? I'm trying to decide which one to buy.
